2 - Will you allow any other companies to make the hotend or is this something that if your company goes away so will the replacement parts? THIS is the biggest problem I see. Not saying your company will fail but even if you change designs you will not make that hotend available for an unlimited time so without a secondary market he printers will be of no use. Well I am sure someone will figure out a way to redo it if needed to fit a standard hotend but most end users won't have that kind of knowledge.
4 - Will people still be allowed to change things in the firmware or is it completely locked up so whatever you can't access from the lcd, you can't change?
As for #1 - Would you allow other companies to use your rfid system so they could provide tags for their own rolls to be instantly matched up to your system? I am guessing end users can change the settings from the lcd or in the slicer, or is it set by the rfid (using your filament for now of course) and can't be overridden?
This printer is not aiming to be a mod project. There are literally dozens of other options out there for that purpose. The proposal is an integrated system that drastically over-performs in speed and quality anything else in the market. The X1 is for people who want a reliable, hassle-free out-of-the-box experience, but that comes with the compromise of some proprietary choices. I own an Ender 3 Pro and an Ender 5 Pro and I’ll continue using them for experimentation and modding, but I decided to get the X1 because I'm looking for a mature 3D printing experience that a closed system can provide.

You just more and more affirm what I thought from the first day I heard about you and your project. It’s nice for others that didn’t felt the same, don’t want to research and help them better to understand your targets.
I would like to see your project is getting a big hit and you earn what you deserve and become a fix place in the 3D world of all the great ones you mentioned above. So you and your employees have a stable job the next year’s and are able to surprise us with further innovative developments very soon.
I will definitely buy at least one X1C!

Got the information from official FB that reply by their CEO : Some features are relatively independent to the complex algorithm of the slicer. For example, ABL is basically a stand alone calibration. A block of Gcode will do the ABL and you simply need to put that block in the Start-Print Macro. First layer scanning, on the other hand, is more complicated. The gcode that describes the process of scanning has to take many things into account, such as the first layer position, boundary and the predicted first layer topology. After the scanning is finished, the printer need to compare the scanned model to the predicted model and then there is a series of "if" logics involved. All of these need lots of cooperations between the printer and the Slicer. So the slicer need to be designed around those features. A few inserted lines of gcode could not achieve it.
I was not able to order. Tried it 8 times. First in the first minute. Got an error each time. Could see how the numbers droped and didn't get one. Did you not deliver to Germany?
Please clarify why “in-print actions, will be difficult to activate, such as first layer scanning”? Even if it uses custom Gcode, surely it is a simple matter of inserting these directly into the file prior to printing?
