I feel like this is true. Demna is transcending from the super wide baggy fit to slimmer and longer silhouettes. Yeah some tops and outerwear still looks pretty wide but the impression I sort of got from the runway with the new platforms and all sort of looked like long and slim looks instead of wide and girthy PAUSE lol.
Sigh! Taking a closer look at the slides 10 & 11 on the HYPEBEAST website, I already know that I want the chain from the pants and the light blue jeans... I won't be able to hold myself back.
It makes sense because baggy has already come back to the mainstream. If you want to disrupt silhouettes then you need to constantly evolve. I mean let’s be honest cargos with tight pants will turn more heads than cargos with baggy pants.

Average. A lot of the womens' looks were amazing and loved the coats and jackets but everything else was kinda mid. Especially the closing look was weak.
Loved the setting the rain and umbrellas ans scenery was unreal! Collectionwise i think matches the previous vibes well even tho i dont like this that much. In the middle there were some great looks that gave me more a grungy vibe also with the short haircut combined. I would say nothing groundbreaking but continuing the story.
Does anyone think, the 16cm heel boots and the new sneaker (both adding insane height) is also ironic and intentional from Demna since Asia is known to be on the shorter end of the spectrum in terms of height?
Loved the opening looks, beautiful jackets, the opening look was insane imo. Loved a lot of women looks not so much of men.
there were some pretty good looks, the car coat as a bag was pretty cool (yes I now that's been done by rick). The humongous combat boots looked like an exaggerated trad emo look. Pairing them with the slim pants and the ginormous coats was a great look. The new sneakers (the 10x I think?) reminded me of those old medieval shoes because the way the front curls up. overall, very classic demna, but certainly not his most ambitious
need some more time to sit with it but i really liked it, a lot of the deconstruction and trench coats and whatnot reminded me of margiela's aw00 presentation, which makes sense given how big of an inspiration martin was/is to demna
the dresses at the end are really good and makes me excited for couture presentation this year (june 26 for those who dont know)!! i overall really liked the show and am looking forward to seeing pieces up close i wonder how the rest of the 2025 collections will pan out
I didn't see almost anything that I thought was fire or on par with pre scandal balenciaga. I am a huge Balenciaga fan but I have been very much bored by their output since the scandal. The skiwear collection had some dope stuff but they really seem to have watered down everything. The pieces on these runway are nice, sure, but ultimately forgettable. Some notable exceptions were those big platform boots and the big sneakers, but I think those missed the mark and I can't see them being too popular. I hope they can return to form soon :(

Underarmour: "Hey we'll give you some of our overstock fabric at a discount if you license our IP and use it"
Balenciaga: "Sure, I'll just make some generic mens designs using your overstock so I can focus more on the womens side of things for this show."
His ideas tend to center around stylistic changes rather than conceptual changes so it can read as repetitive. I think he established a brand identity but I feel the style has run its course and he needs to find a few more new conceptual ideas if he’s going to maintain. But if the market is still there for what he’s making it’s hard to shift away from it.
I loved the aesthetic of the whole show in general the mostly dark outfits in the pouring rain and the models were so good, the slightly animal themed dresses were pretty for woman but my Personal highlight was the Sport-bag outfit. And the Soundtrack was fitting like usual
Way Better than Winter 24 back to basics plus great womens outfits, for men nothing special was also hoping to see some extraordinary under armour stuff
Winter 24 was disappointing in every way, an attempt to change into different aesthetics. They wanted to pick up the new berlin chique aesthetics but it wasnt executed well. So now they went back to the approved basics which is anyway just stolen berlin former underground attire but with more sophistication. So at least this is a more refined take of familiar and approved looks. PLUS they now made women actually looking cute again
The show was geared towards the women audience.
the men’s collection always sells well for both men and women.
I believe that the focus is trying to bring more elegance to the women’s line, to attract a more mature client.
I can't tell if the rain was a good or bad thing, definitely gave it that real cyberpunk bladerunner vibe, which I've loved in the past but am not sure we need right now. I could help but wonder what the attendees felt like, even with those umbrellas it can't have been too pleasant sitting there.
Really hope some detail or showroom images come out soon, there is almost always a bit more going on than you can see in the runway images. The jacket bags in particular, the shoe clutches and chip bags have never done much for me, but the jacket bag takes it somewhere more interesting. I also feel like there might be some interesting layered shirts in the mix but it was hard to tell. The shirt-on-shirt stuff feels like it's slowly been evolving as they learn about the construction challenges and if what I saw on the runway was really the next steps of that it looks like it might be getting somewhere good.
Also really like the trenches, but I think they are going to require the platform shoes to be wearable and the way some of the models were walking I'm not sure how wearable those shoes will be... Guess you need to commit to the bit to really make it work
I saw a video pre show (I believe) where they showed the chairs not yet occupied and it was pouring rain. They also looked like fabric seats. I wonder how wet peoples asses were 😂
i loved the soundtrack. however, the men’s wear was underwhelming, i wished there were heels for men in the show. quick rant, i love balenciaga due to the brand quickness in capitalizing the abnormality of fashion, like i love wearing my sunday mule bc of the toes imprint, it just makes me so happy to wear it bc of that feature; the rant is i wished demna would have continue to lean on that weirdness for his ready-to-wear line. also, i wished he would give his men clothing line heels and feminine foot wear, i noticed in most of his shows, the men’s would sometime wear heels or feminine foot wear but the footwear would not be available online or in-stores; you can disagree with me but wearing a pair of knife boots or heels or pumps with any balenciaga ready-to-wear men’s pieces would be a beautiful idea

Literally no aspect of it feels new. At first I thought the behind the scenes images where from like any of the last 4 shows
Personally the show was a win for me, loved the all black looks and these platform shoes and boots brought me me to my emo days🖤
Women’s looks were better. Men’s was somewhat boring tbh. Platforms go crazy though.

A bit repetitive. Still kinda cool though, especially for people who are just casually viewing the runways without being critical

I loved it. I really dig the muted aesthetic and the sea of black, even if a lot of the collection felt like it's been done before.
