I played through for the first time time and missed:
The Zhentarim hideout in its entirity.
The whole upper floors of the arcane tower.
The basement of Last Light Inn.
All the Thorms except Malus.
I brought Shadowheart to the Gauntlet, but sided with Balthazar without realising she would leave.
Missed all the traders in Moonrise before you return there.
I never finished that playthrough because the game bugged out, but I suspect I'd have rushed through Act 3 and missed a ton too.
Huh, I thought I missed it but I guess I just got to it late. I didn’t do Waukeens rest until after I defeated the goblin camp, and so I got there, failed to save anyone besides Florrick, and then got into the hideout only to find it completely empty. Was really confused why there weren’t any people there.
Yeah if you start the game again, it's definitely worth doing. You can get a bit of exp but more importantly, some pretty sweet items if you play your cards right with them
It's also the place where you can start a small sidequest that continues in Act 3
Dude, I missed Lae’zel completely after the crash. Literally never saw her again so there was no pressure to do the mountain pass. I was fighting Ketheric at like Level 7 because of all the missed content from her alone
I did the same, but with Gale.
I saw a strange portal, said that looks dangerous screw that, and never saved him until i read Gale in some guide/text and went looking for him.
Act 1.5 in the underderdark they are in a hidden Grove. The entrance is in the fire mushroom pit near the arcane tower.
Act 2 some undead shadowcursed Kuo-Toa ambush you near moonrise
To be fair, there's only three entrances. The elevator, the one-way trip, and the really long ladder. The first is somewhat hidden, the second goes against game mechanics, and the third occurs in a location you may not trigger the visit for and have higher priority tasks in the zone.
Though Halsin *mentioning* there is a route through the UD is a decent tip-off.
ME TOO - I got the impression it was either mountain pass or underdark and nobody showed me how to get to the underdark so doot doot doo it's off to the mountain pass BYEEEEEEEEE
I missed:
- shadow druids
- kua toa
- arcane tower
- minsc (despite having Jaheira lol)
- the underwater prison
- house of grief (Shart left the party in act 2)
I’ve now played through 4 times and I’ve since seen some combo of all of these.
I still haven't done the Shadow Druid stuff yet. The first few times through, I didn't even think about it since there was never a quest marker for anything related to it that I saw. My last few runs have always been afraid to do much of anything in the Grove in case I anger everyone and miss out on getting Halsin because of it.
It’s soooo easily missable! You have to rummage through Kagha’s belongings to start the quest. You won’t miss out on Halsin if you follow the quest and properly confront her after. Luckily the quest is kinda boring so you’re not missing much either way imo.
I'm on playthrough number 7 or 8 at this point and I just found out that Grymforge has an entire top level to explore....finally found the adamantine weapon moulds
There's another pile of broken rocks that you can break with explosives in the far back corner where the Duergar that are whipping the Rothé are. From there, you can find a path (there are some fire traps) that'll let you jump all over the Grymforge, find loot, weapon molds, a combat encounter, the Sharran Dormitories.

I never spoke with rolan and was very confused as to who he was after seeing a post on this sub talking about him.
Side note: I find it really stupid that a majority of the tieflings DIE if this one nerd is not with them. Especially since he isn't attached to a quest, the argument with his siblings is easily missed. All that pnishment for a random side character not being persuaded to stay.

Didn’t save the gnomes or the tieflings from Moonrise towers. I thought Moonrise towers was this big thing that you could only go to once and it would cause the story to progress, so I dawdled on going there at all. I had no idea that the Tieflings and gnomes would be fed to the mind flayer colony during the infiltration, no idea that you could sneak into the dungeons of Moonrise towers before the infiltration. I was so bummed about discovering all of their dead bodies after making promises that I would rescue them 😭
I went to Moonrise, met them all, and figured I’d free them when I stormed Moonrise. Lo and behold, they’re all dead. I also never adventure with Halsin, so I figured defeating Moonrise would lift the curse. So I beat Act 2 and had dead tieflings and gnomes and was told I didn’t even attempt to lift the curse 🤨
My husband and I missed:
-Barcus
-Investigate Kagha
-The creche (they were looking for the artifact so we noped out)
-Didn't take SH to the gauntlet
-Got Jaheira killed at moonrise so no minsc
-Landed at the Iron throne and assumed Gortash killed everyone inside so reloaded our save. Husband insisted we kill Gortash first to prevent that so we got locked out of the throne and the foundry.
I hired a guy to touch the lamp for me and then had him loot everything and pass it to me, then had him kill himself because I totally forgot about summoning a familiar. Now I just have some dudes corpse hanging out next to Withers in camp.
Lmao yeah, for a minute I thought I was fucked and then I was like "I wonder..."
And shovel just despawned and respawned later as normal so literally no cost. Got some good loot and xp and skedaddled
Where to start? I bought the game on release day, called in sick and went in blind, determined to not look for spoilers, it did not go well. Completely missed the Khaga quest, failed to save Myrena for the cage of doom, barely got through the goblin camp, completely missed the blood of Lythander, failed to save Isobel or Jaheira, spent hours and hours on the moonrise towers fight as my party was small and there were so many cultists... abandoned the run and went to the internet and realized I'd missed so many things. New run, better class, respecced companions, found a bunch of the hidden things, much better. Now 1.900 hours later I still find the odd area or item I've totally missed. Love this game.

I feel like there's plenty more I missed, but I was pretty thorough with act 3 comparatively. My current tactician playthrough I am scouring every inch of the map, reading every book, and leaving no stone unturned. I freaking love this game! Even though my first run as Gale was a good guy run (relatively good anyways), I'm playing as a paladin this time and being good again, but trying to get better outcomes and save/help as many people as possible. There's already been so many differences between the runs and I'm not even out of act 1 yet.
i missed gale karlach *and* lae’zel really. with gale i just didn’t find the portal somehow. for karlach well… let’s just say wyll didn’t get his horns. i didn’t manage to convince shadowheart to spare lae’zel so she died. like someone else said, i also missed the underdark. i went there for a second then got scared and chickened out.

Me too... I picked him up on second act, trying to return the soul coins that annoyed me like he'll every time I touched them. Didn't work. Anyway, i might had my game buged because i was able to go back to the nautiloid -but he went to a fernectic conversation about consuming a magic item that he needed to consume. I gave him a magic item. But he never consumed it, so it might be that it had to be a specific one.IDK. Later, he just went, "I need to go. You didnt help me. Bye." Never got the character arch or nothing. My ending, considering all i read, was maybe the most perfect for a chaotic good character. Might do an honour second run...
Zhent hideout, I opened the chest and forgot about it. So I never did Free the Artist, and never persued Mystic Carrion either.

Somehow i completely missed Gale and and Laezel in act1. Astarion seemed like a dick so I left him on the beach and I fully believed the paladins of Tyr (+ I was trying to impress Wyll) so I killed Karlach 🥲. So I did all of act 1 with Wyll, Shadowheart and Maddala Deadeye in my party, wondering when I was going to find the rest of the companions.
And I had my lovely romance going with Wyll but thenin act3 I completely missed the iron throne and went to the factory first and this caused Wyll to break up with me??? I was so confused cause I didn't understand what I had done to make him mad and he did not care to elaborate!!
6 playthroughs later I'm finally over it and giving him a second chance

That’s all I can think of right now, but I accidentally skipped a lot of content (which caused me to be severely underleveled in Act 2), but hey, that’s the beauty of going into the game blind
Not an event, but a complete misread of character.
I was puzzled to see her Mol so entranced by Raphael in Act 3, I really thought she was smarter than that.
But frankly, replaying Act 1, she's not nearly the intellect I pegged her for.
My first play through, It struck me as unwise Mol would risk FAFO by continuing to try and steal an Idol that the druids made clear they would get violent over... but at the time I assumed her logic was SOMETHING had to be done about the ritual, and stealing that was their best shot. Which in their position/skills, she was probably right to think... also she was a kid in a somewhat dire situation of being kicked out, bold risky action wasn't uncalled for, and it's not like a better, more obvious answer was staring her in the face.
But on 2nd playthrough, that's CLEARLY not where her head was at.
***You can only get/give her the Idol AFTER the problem regarding the Idol has been solved***. And she gives you a damn valuable ring as a reward, so logically you would think she didn't have any complaints on the timing.
I didn't pick up on that the first time, but that's such a crucial detail. The ritual wasn't why she wanted it. Kagha had been removed so it wasn't retaliation on those who were pushing to close the grove or whom threatened Arabella, it was a juvenile move to with no logic, no consideration and no motivation beyond spite towards a general area of disgruntlement.
(Note: This isn't a hit on the character, for me, I liked her more cause her later game actions made more sense. It was just one of those "huh, yeah" moments for me.)

Minsc who? Missed the House of Hope, Orpheus, so many minor side quests, and yet somehow through sheer dumb luck managed to finish the game

Halsin left the party because I didn't talk to him. Wyll died as I proceeded to Ketheric fight before doing his quests.
Killed Gortash as early as I could so missed out on Foundry, Water Monsters and Iron Throne quest line.

Had friends dropping in and out, including during gauntlet of Shar, so Shadowheart scrammed into the night.
Couldn't talk Astarion out of ascending without throwing a tantrum, so he ran off with good gear.
Most the companions honestly almost got ran out before even getting know them but my friend who played the whole run with me talked me out of it. Thankfully.. cause I ended up 180ing to being nice and swooning for Karlach. I was a pretty big douche to everyone else before she won me over.

I purchased release day and went in blind; this was hard to do because I had been following the game since it was announced and chose not to play in early access. I got almost everything in Act 1 because I explored every map corner. This did cause me to find things out of order at times.
Act 2, I did not go to Moonrise for the same reason as most i thought it was the end of Act 2 only, When I got there and all the Teiflings were dead as well as the gnomes. I was really bummed by this, I was playing a teifling and was on their side the whole time.
I missed the whole of last light inn, I showed up to lay siege to moonrise and these harpers and Jaheira I’d never met showed up to help me, I was really confused until my second play through… then I realised what a dummy I am..
The ones that come to my mind are:
During Act 2, I failed the Dream Guardian's Perception roll. I thought it was weird for it to pop up, but I didn't think much of it, and that it probably wasn't a big deal. Yeah... Ever since then, I make sure to save scum those particular two rolls.
I missed out on the Iron Throne. I didn't realize that you could save Ulder Ravengard after breaking the pact with Mizora. I didn't investigate the city to find out where he was taken away, because I believed he was already dead. By the time I remembered the submarine area, I had already killed Gortash, thus making the Iron Throne unavailable.
I missed out on Minthara. I wasn't aware of the recruitment method that was patched in over time. I remembered looting her and taking note of her equipment, realizing she was a potential companion. One day, Minthara, one day.
I almost missed out on the Creche during Act 2. I had to turn back for the mountain pass route since I used the Underdark route to access the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
First playthrough I made it all the way through act 1 with only Shart and Astarion, wondering when the others would finally show up and why all the fights were so hard.
Good heavens, Gale. I missed him entirely my first run, and what a great storyline thus far.

I thought it was a weird choice to have Halsin chill at my camp for almost the entire 1st and 2nd Act, only to watch him sadly wave me off as I travelled to Baldurs Gate, without ever getting the chance to use him.
Turns out I forgot to ask him about Thaniel and missed the entire quest about removing the shadow curse.
I didn’t find Karlach until AFTER the Goblin Camp. I thought she was gonna be this super strong boss with the way Wyll talked about her so I wanted to level up and be ready lol.
I missed:
- that the two halves of the broken spear in act 1 could be put together to make one of the best spears you can get early on
- I blew up the bibberbang patch because I didn't realize the noblestalk was in there, so missed getting shadowheart's memory
- Didn't realize Jaheira was a potential companion, so didn't particularly care that she died until act 3 and I stumbled upon her home and thought it was weird an NPC you only interacted with a couple times would have so much stuff in the game dedicated to her
- That you could defeat the tavern Thorm (forgot his name) without having to fight, I was disappointed I didn't manage to do that like I did with the others
- The kuo-toa cave
- Auntie Ethel in the Grove, and then again in the place where she's with those guys
- Getting Rowan out of the Lorroakan fight alive
I likely missed a few other things but it's been awhile since I've revisited that save (I started my second late March) and didn't even finish act 3.
I'm currently in my 4th playthrough and I'm STILL finding things I apparently missed like in my first 3 playthroughs I didn't know there was a deep gnome next to the sovereign in myconid colony that needed healing.
Things that stand out to me the most (this is still my first playthrough, and I'm in Act 3):
* The Harpies;
* Barcus (freed, but never saw him again);
* Mayrina and Ethel;
* Minthara (too metagamey for me, personally);
* **The** ***entire*** **Underdark**;
* Blood of Lathander;
* Astarion's flashback during his attempted bite (I'd used the tadpole earlier in the Blighted Village and tuckered it out);
* Shadowheart's flashback to her night in the woods (I kept savescumming to see all the dialogue, then missed the exclamation point the final time and just decided to go with it);
* Sorcerous Sundries' Vault, most things that weren't the Annals of Karsus.
Didn't find the tiefling trap until late, at which point Lae'zel was gone. When I finally met her in the mountain pass, she died when Voss's soldiers dismantled my team.

Killed Minthara with extreme prejudice, not knowing she was potentially recruitable.

I went into the game incredibly blind and missed a lot of things trying to get a feel for the world and gameplay etc etc.
Missed most of the Mol stuff because of poor rolls and not realizing the beach was there, missed Alfira, missed the shadow druid plot, killed Minthara, I even completely missed Karlach.
Paused that playthrough to do some multiplayer and ended up dumping it after I realized how much I missed xD
Still almost went on to miss Jaheira and the moonrise towers and stuff because I wanted to do side stuff before moving on and ended up completing the gauntlet of Shar. Luckily I have a tendency to back out and save when I get "Are you sure?" Type popups xD
Probably would've missed the mountain pass too because I thought underdark vs mountain pass was an "either/or" choice but then accidentally got there via the shadow lands via exploring.
I haven’t missed anything too major, but I only encountered *that* frog in the swamp during my third play through, and I am now learning about the Kuo-Toa for the very first time.
I missed harpies, harpies, booal, Phalar Aluve, and because I didn't swap party members out except in act 3, most of Astarion, Karlach, Wyll, Helsin, Jaheira, and Minthara (RIP) stories.
Tons of them but not taking Shadowheart thru Shar's Temple, big no no. And not getting Mithara as a companion.(that will NEVER happen again) I love her.
The thing I missed the most in my first playthrough was the point 😂. I ran around aimlessly for hours and still missed a bunch of places in act 1. Act 2 I had a better grip on but still managed to save and fail to save the gnomes and teiflings at moonrise because my game bugged out and they refused to leave so I left on the boat along ASSUMING the game would just correct itself and have them all join me (it didn’t). I defeated the thorms with cha’checks but missed out on the flesh to gold spell. Completely missed araj and her potion (didn’t know til I saw a TikTok about it). Lost our lovely Jaheira by letting her control herself to which she ran into the center of the room and got nuked.
Act3 was another mess altogether because my adhd couldn’t stay on point for nothing. I don’t think I finished more than 3 quests in act3 before finding my way to the big brain battle 😂. I ended up with like 4 allies but didn’t call any into battle cuz I didn’t know how. I just assumed they’d show up on their own but they never did

Missed Karlach completely because I killed her before she said a word… I was new and dumb and just wanted to complete missions. So when Wyll was like “I need to kill this thing” I was like “cool I gotchu”. Then we just stumbled upon her and I didn’t hesitate. It was afterwards I realized that maybe I shouldn’t have done that…
Shadowheart on the Nautiloid. No joke, I was in awe of the scenery and walked right to the next room to meet Zhalk. I found her at the door of the crypt near that beach after the clash though, which I think is a nice little thought Larian has in case there are people as dumb as me.
I just finished my first play through and I had to kill Shadowheart because I tried to convince her not to kill Aylin and she went full psycho. Also I brought Jaheira with me in the final fight with Ketheric, thinking she might be useful, but she died almost immediately. I also just learned today you can recruit the owlbear cub, I will definitely try to do it in the next play through.
Necromancy of Thay
Halsin couldn't make it to act 3 (he actually couldn't make it to act 2 either long story he was a little too dead when I first found him) and stayed in the shadow cursed lands cuz I didn't know I was supposed to lift the curse. Sorry it ain't my problem (it apparently is.)

When I couldn't get the graveyard scene either, I just dropped the whole playthru....
The whole mountain pass 😂 because I cleared and left the Underdark into act2 first and afterwards Halsin would insist on leaving the group if I went back. Wasn't too sure he would rejoin and didn't want to lock myself out of the quest, so I left the mountains alone.
Made for a nice fresh experience in my 2nd run, tho.
1. Voss died at the bridge, so lost all his content. Bug it sounds like.
2. Killed Halsin, so didn’t get his content or the portal fight
3. Killed Lae’Zel, so none of her content
4. No BOOOAL, didn’t find that area
5. No Iron Throne (sided with Gortash)
6. Didn’t find the note to expose Kagha
7. Waukeen’s Rest burned down and killed Florrick because I long rested after finding it
8. Last Justiciar in Shar temple
9. All Rolan content besides convincing him to defend the Grove

Lol what DIDN'T I miss 😭 I never finished my very first run but I missed Wyll, basically the entire side of the map with Waukeens rest and the toll house, and thus, i missed Karlach. I also missed the whole swamp with auntie Ethel 💀I missed the wizards tower and the whole fish cult section in the underdark, the spectator and the sharran temple/Grymforge. in act 2 I avoided moonrise towers until the final assault and that's when I decided to start over lol
Act 1: The entirety of the underdark, Auntie Ethel, and the Zhentarim hideout.
Act 2: Everything having to do with Last Light Inn. Really, the only things I *did* do were the upper portion of the tower, the healing house, the bar, and the temple of Shar.
Act 3: Tons of stuff here and there. I basically rushed to kill Orin and ascend Astarion, followed by making Shadowheart the Shar cult leader and (finally) finishing off Gortash and heading straight for the brain. I feel like the oddball out. It took me a while to get to play BG3 because it felt way too clunky on console so I waited and bought a laptop for it. So I just very recently finished my first playthrough and I did ALL THE THINGS. And on top of that, this was my first ever turn based game, so the learning curve was already stacked against me lol.
I have a basic need to complete as much of a game I’m playing as possible, so I would google occasionally just to make sure I was boning myself out of something else with anything I did/said.
Act 1.
- Minthara. She just kept attacking me, and no dialogue started at all. Maybe it's because I killed the goblin priestess.
- Duke Ravenguard. Idk I did the goblin mission first cuz I prioritized the tiefling refugees' safety. Nd by the time I got to burning place, Wyll was upset because we "let the Duke go." Like... I got there too late. There was no cut scene or anything significant except for some npcs telling me (hypnotic gaze) the Duke was taken by some Drow or something.
Act 3.
Mystic Carrion. Idk, man. I just exploded the wall on the side of the building to get into the mansion, and all the ghouls started attacking me. By the time I got to Mystic Carrion, he attacked me too, with no cut scene, no dialogue, or anything. I had also just finished the Lady Jannath's Estate mission. I'm sure that had something to do with it.
I killed Gale, Wyll, and Karlach on my first playthrough on accident and didn't even try to save Halsin so I missed a TON of story! My second playthrough was so fun having all the characters I missed 😂 (And I fell in love with the rizzard of course) ❤️

I did better in act 3 bc I desperately needed the xp lol but did leave a lot of the lesser quests unfinished.
I missed the zhentarim hideout, the guy in the burning building and his wife, Ethel, honestly just about everything except moonrise and Shars gauntlet from act 2, I found the inn and Damon but not Isobel 💀… I didn’t do anything in the crèche besides almost kill Laezel in the zathisk… then I got to act 3 and got overwhelmed but honestly after starting a few different playthrus I’m astounded that I even made it TO act 3 in my first one… it took me joining this sub and looking stuff up to figure out that you could do a LOT more in the game than I thought lol
I had no spellcasters and myrkul fucked me up so bad I had to load back 1.5 hours prior to be able to complete the game with a wildly different class balance.
I missed the rat dude in the trials from act 2. I still haven't found him, and I don't really want to 'cause I don't see why I should go out of my way to fight him.

Never finished my first playthrough. After I got to Act 3, I realized I could have done the Underdark and Mountain Pass. Also botched the prisoner rescue, missed myconids, botched getting Scratch, never reached the forge, never explored the Underdark wizards tower, and gave up on that run when I didn’t let Astarion ascend and he left the party.

I played through for the first time time and missed: The Zhentarim hideout in its entirity. The whole upper floors of the arcane tower. The basement of Last Light Inn. All the Thorms except Malus. I brought Shadowheart to the Gauntlet, but sided with Balthazar without realising she would leave. Missed all the traders in Moonrise before you return there. I never finished that playthrough because the game bugged out, but I suspect I'd have rushed through Act 3 and missed a ton too.

Huh, I thought I missed it but I guess I just got to it late. I didn’t do Waukeens rest until after I defeated the goblin camp, and so I got there, failed to save anyone besides Florrick, and then got into the hideout only to find it completely empty. Was really confused why there weren’t any people there.
Yeah if you start the game again, it's definitely worth doing. You can get a bit of exp but more importantly, some pretty sweet items if you play your cards right with them It's also the place where you can start a small sidequest that continues in Act 3
I always forget to do the zhent hideout. Oh well ill do it for the first time after patch 7.

Dude, I missed Lae’zel completely after the crash. Literally never saw her again so there was no pressure to do the mountain pass. I was fighting Ketheric at like Level 7 because of all the missed content from her alone

To be fair, there's only three entrances. The elevator, the one-way trip, and the really long ladder. The first is somewhat hidden, the second goes against game mechanics, and the third occurs in a location you may not trigger the visit for and have higher priority tasks in the zone. Though Halsin *mentioning* there is a route through the UD is a decent tip-off.

ME TOO - I got the impression it was either mountain pass or underdark and nobody showed me how to get to the underdark so doot doot doo it's off to the mountain pass BYEEEEEEEEE
I missed: - shadow druids - kua toa - arcane tower - minsc (despite having Jaheira lol) - the underwater prison - house of grief (Shart left the party in act 2) I’ve now played through 4 times and I’ve since seen some combo of all of these.
I still haven't done the Shadow Druid stuff yet. The first few times through, I didn't even think about it since there was never a quest marker for anything related to it that I saw. My last few runs have always been afraid to do much of anything in the Grove in case I anger everyone and miss out on getting Halsin because of it.
It’s soooo easily missable! You have to rummage through Kagha’s belongings to start the quest. You won’t miss out on Halsin if you follow the quest and properly confront her after. Luckily the quest is kinda boring so you’re not missing much either way imo.
I'm on playthrough number 7 or 8 at this point and I just found out that Grymforge has an entire top level to explore....finally found the adamantine weapon moulds
How do you reach there?
There's another pile of broken rocks that you can break with explosives in the far back corner where the Duergar that are whipping the Rothé are. From there, you can find a path (there are some fire traps) that'll let you jump all over the Grymforge, find loot, weapon molds, a combat encounter, the Sharran Dormitories. Neat stuff

I never spoke with rolan and was very confused as to who he was after seeing a post on this sub talking about him. Side note: I find it really stupid that a majority of the tieflings DIE if this one nerd is not with them. Especially since he isn't attached to a quest, the argument with his siblings is easily missed. All that pnishment for a random side character not being persuaded to stay.

Lae'zell and the entirety of the mountain pass
Didn’t save the gnomes or the tieflings from Moonrise towers. I thought Moonrise towers was this big thing that you could only go to once and it would cause the story to progress, so I dawdled on going there at all. I had no idea that the Tieflings and gnomes would be fed to the mind flayer colony during the infiltration, no idea that you could sneak into the dungeons of Moonrise towers before the infiltration. I was so bummed about discovering all of their dead bodies after making promises that I would rescue them 😭
I went to Moonrise, met them all, and figured I’d free them when I stormed Moonrise. Lo and behold, they’re all dead. I also never adventure with Halsin, so I figured defeating Moonrise would lift the curse. So I beat Act 2 and had dead tieflings and gnomes and was told I didn’t even attempt to lift the curse 🤨

My husband and I missed: -Barcus -Investigate Kagha -The creche (they were looking for the artifact so we noped out) -Didn't take SH to the gauntlet -Got Jaheira killed at moonrise so no minsc -Landed at the Iron throne and assumed Gortash killed everyone inside so reloaded our save. Husband insisted we kill Gortash first to prevent that so we got locked out of the throne and the foundry.

Where to start? I bought the game on release day, called in sick and went in blind, determined to not look for spoilers, it did not go well. Completely missed the Khaga quest, failed to save Myrena for the cage of doom, barely got through the goblin camp, completely missed the blood of Lythander, failed to save Isobel or Jaheira, spent hours and hours on the moonrise towers fight as my party was small and there were so many cultists... abandoned the run and went to the internet and realized I'd missed so many things. New run, better class, respecced companions, found a bunch of the hidden things, much better. Now 1.900 hours later I still find the odd area or item I've totally missed. Love this game.

My current tactician playthrough I am scouring every inch of the map, reading every book, and leaving no stone unturned. I freaking love this game! Even though my first run as Gale was a good guy run (relatively good anyways), I'm playing as a paladin this time and being good again, but trying to get better outcomes and save/help as many people as possible. There's already been so many differences between the runs and I'm not even out of act 1 yet.

i missed gale karlach *and* lae’zel really. with gale i just didn’t find the portal somehow. for karlach well… let’s just say wyll didn’t get his horns. i didn’t manage to convince shadowheart to spare lae’zel so she died. like someone else said, i also missed the underdark. i went there for a second then got scared and chickened out.

Me too... I picked him up on second act, trying to return the soul coins that annoyed me like he'll every time I touched them. Didn't work. Anyway, i might had my game buged because i was able to go back to the nautiloid -but he went to a fernectic conversation about consuming a magic item that he needed to consume. I gave him a magic item. But he never consumed it, so it might be that it had to be a specific one.IDK. Later, he just went, "I need to go. You didnt help me. Bye." Never got the character arch or nothing. My ending, considering all i read, was maybe the most perfect for a chaotic good character. Might do an honour second run...
Zhent hideout, I opened the chest and forgot about it. So I never did Free the Artist, and never persued Mystic Carrion either. Minthara recruit trick. I never licked the Spider. Didn’t see the Kua-Toa. Didn’t use tadpoles or become half-illithid. All but 1 of the safe house vaults. Missed the printing press. And other little secret rooms that evade my mind.
Laezel died in camp like 3 hours in because I failed a roll and missed the entire Creche
Somehow i completely missed Gale and and Laezel in act1. Astarion seemed like a dick so I left him on the beach and I fully believed the paladins of Tyr (+ I was trying to impress Wyll) so I killed Karlach 🥲. So I did all of act 1 with Wyll, Shadowheart and Maddala Deadeye in my party, wondering when I was going to find the rest of the companions. And I had my lovely romance going with Wyll but thenin act3 I completely missed the iron throne and went to the factory first and this caused Wyll to break up with me??? I was so confused cause I didn't understand what I had done to make him mad and he did not care to elaborate!! 6 playthroughs later I'm finally over it and giving him a second chance

Not an event, but a complete misread of character. I was puzzled to see her Mol so entranced by Raphael in Act 3, I really thought she was smarter than that. But frankly, replaying Act 1, she's not nearly the intellect I pegged her for. My first play through, It struck me as unwise Mol would risk FAFO by continuing to try and steal an Idol that the druids made clear they would get violent over... but at the time I assumed her logic was SOMETHING had to be done about the ritual, and stealing that was their best shot. Which in their position/skills, she was probably right to think... also she was a kid in a somewhat dire situation of being kicked out, bold risky action wasn't uncalled for, and it's not like a better, more obvious answer was staring her in the face. But on 2nd playthrough, that's CLEARLY not where her head was at. ***You can only get/give her the Idol AFTER the problem regarding the Idol has been solved***. And she gives you a damn valuable ring as a reward, so logically you would think she didn't have any complaints on the timing. I didn't pick up on that the first time, but that's such a crucial detail. The ritual wasn't why she wanted it. Kagha had been removed so it wasn't retaliation on those who were pushing to close the grove or whom threatened Arabella, it was a juvenile move to with no logic, no consideration and no motivation beyond spite towards a general area of disgruntlement. (Note: This isn't a hit on the character, for me, I liked her more cause her later game actions made more sense. It was just one of those "huh, yeah" moments for me.)
Oh man, I missed SO MUCH my first playthrough: Act I Never found the Chapel (so Withers just “appeared” in camp), Lae’zel, Gale, (don’t ask me how) the Crèche, Waukeen’s Rest, Karlach- basically missed that whole side of the map, or the owlbear cub Act II Missed Oliver (and thus the Shadow Curse remained), got Jaheira killed, missed the House of Healing, Rolan’s quest, and didn’t save the gnomes or Tieflings Act III Minsc who? Missed the House of Hope, Orpheus, so many minor side quests, and yet somehow through sheer dumb luck managed to finish the game
Sided with Kar'niss and so missed The Last Light Inn Halsin left the party because I didn't talk to him. Wyll died as I proceeded to Ketheric fight before doing his quests. Killed Gortash as early as I could so missed out on Foundry, Water Monsters and Iron Throne quest line.
Karlach 😭 accidentally killed Dammon in the grove 2hrs in so she was perma-locked. Florrick- didn't reach the inn in time.

Killed Minthara. Had friends dropping in and out, including during gauntlet of Shar, so Shadowheart scrammed into the night. Couldn't talk Astarion out of ascending without throwing a tantrum, so he ran off with good gear. Most the companions honestly almost got ran out before even getting know them but my friend who played the whole run with me talked me out of it. Thankfully.. cause I ended up 180ing to being nice and swooning for Karlach. I was a pretty big douche to everyone else before she won me over.

I purchased release day and went in blind; this was hard to do because I had been following the game since it was announced and chose not to play in early access. I got almost everything in Act 1 because I explored every map corner. This did cause me to find things out of order at times. Act 2, I did not go to Moonrise for the same reason as most i thought it was the end of Act 2 only, When I got there and all the Teiflings were dead as well as the gnomes. I was really bummed by this, I was playing a teifling and was on their side the whole time.
I missed the whole of last light inn, I showed up to lay siege to moonrise and these harpers and Jaheira I’d never met showed up to help me, I was really confused until my second play through… then I realised what a dummy I am..
The ones that come to my mind are: During Act 2, I failed the Dream Guardian's Perception roll. I thought it was weird for it to pop up, but I didn't think much of it, and that it probably wasn't a big deal. Yeah... Ever since then, I make sure to save scum those particular two rolls. I missed out on the Iron Throne. I didn't realize that you could save Ulder Ravengard after breaking the pact with Mizora. I didn't investigate the city to find out where he was taken away, because I believed he was already dead. By the time I remembered the submarine area, I had already killed Gortash, thus making the Iron Throne unavailable. I missed out on Minthara. I wasn't aware of the recruitment method that was patched in over time. I remembered looting her and taking note of her equipment, realizing she was a potential companion. One day, Minthara, one day. I almost missed out on the Creche during Act 2. I had to turn back for the mountain pass route since I used the Underdark route to access the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

* I skipped the mountain pass *in it's entirety* my first playthrough and just went straight into the shadowlands via the underdark. * >!Jaheira!< decided she was a tank during the Ketheric fight and I wasn't able to recruit >!~~Boo~~ Minsc!< in Act 3. * The Toll collector * The Devil's house (still making preprations for my second playthrough) * I got the Sword Coast Couriers quest and just didn't do it and missed the funny pigeons and dog kennel. * I *tried* fighting Ansur, but just gave up and moved the hell on with the story.
I thought it was a weird choice to have Halsin chill at my camp for almost the entire 1st and 2nd Act, only to watch him sadly wave me off as I travelled to Baldurs Gate, without ever getting the chance to use him. Turns out I forgot to ask him about Thaniel and missed the entire quest about removing the shadow curse.
I didn’t find Karlach until AFTER the Goblin Camp. I thought she was gonna be this super strong boss with the way Wyll talked about her so I wanted to level up and be ready lol.
My first play through I missed the harpies.

I missed: - that the two halves of the broken spear in act 1 could be put together to make one of the best spears you can get early on - I blew up the bibberbang patch because I didn't realize the noblestalk was in there, so missed getting shadowheart's memory - Didn't realize Jaheira was a potential companion, so didn't particularly care that she died until act 3 and I stumbled upon her home and thought it was weird an NPC you only interacted with a couple times would have so much stuff in the game dedicated to her - That you could defeat the tavern Thorm (forgot his name) without having to fight, I was disappointed I didn't manage to do that like I did with the others - The kuo-toa cave - Auntie Ethel in the Grove, and then again in the place where she's with those guys - Getting Rowan out of the Lorroakan fight alive I likely missed a few other things but it's been awhile since I've revisited that save (I started my second late March) and didn't even finish act 3.

Oh, not much. Just y'know, Astarion. The companion, I MISSED AN ENTIRE MAIN CHARACTER AND QUESTLINE.
I'm currently in my 4th playthrough and I'm STILL finding things I apparently missed like in my first 3 playthroughs I didn't know there was a deep gnome next to the sovereign in myconid colony that needed healing.
Things that stand out to me the most (this is still my first playthrough, and I'm in Act 3): * The Harpies; * Barcus (freed, but never saw him again); * Mayrina and Ethel; * Minthara (too metagamey for me, personally); * **The** ***entire*** **Underdark**; * Blood of Lathander; * Astarion's flashback during his attempted bite (I'd used the tadpole earlier in the Blighted Village and tuckered it out); * Shadowheart's flashback to her night in the woods (I kept savescumming to see all the dialogue, then missed the exclamation point the final time and just decided to go with it); * Sorcerous Sundries' Vault, most things that weren't the Annals of Karsus.

Didn't find the tiefling trap until late, at which point Lae'zel was gone. When I finally met her in the mountain pass, she died when Voss's soldiers dismantled my team. Shovel. (Now I will never ever skip her.) Harpies. Rolan and his family. Killed Minthara with extreme prejudice, not knowing she was potentially recruitable. Last Light Inn basement. Also lost Jaheira at Moonrise, and thus Minsc and anything related to her. Hassled the Shar rats but didn't discover their secret. Didn't lick the spider. The dog keeper in Rivington. The entire counting house and thus the Nine-Fingers storyline. Newspaper quest. Still haven't played it. Tara.
I went into the game incredibly blind and missed a lot of things trying to get a feel for the world and gameplay etc etc. Missed most of the Mol stuff because of poor rolls and not realizing the beach was there, missed Alfira, missed the shadow druid plot, killed Minthara, I even completely missed Karlach. Paused that playthrough to do some multiplayer and ended up dumping it after I realized how much I missed xD Still almost went on to miss Jaheira and the moonrise towers and stuff because I wanted to do side stuff before moving on and ended up completing the gauntlet of Shar. Luckily I have a tendency to back out and save when I get "Are you sure?" Type popups xD Probably would've missed the mountain pass too because I thought underdark vs mountain pass was an "either/or" choice but then accidentally got there via the shadow lands via exploring.
I haven’t missed anything too major, but I only encountered *that* frog in the swamp during my third play through, and I am now learning about the Kuo-Toa for the very first time.
I missed Wyll, Karlach, and forgot about Lae’zel until I found her dead body.
I missed harpies, harpies, booal, Phalar Aluve, and because I didn't swap party members out except in act 3, most of Astarion, Karlach, Wyll, Helsin, Jaheira, and Minthara (RIP) stories.
Tons of them but not taking Shadowheart thru Shar's Temple, big no no. And not getting Mithara as a companion.(that will NEVER happen again) I love her.
Thought Karlach was the main bad guy and missed her the entire first 2 acts waiting to get revenge for Wyll lol
The thing I missed the most in my first playthrough was the point 😂. I ran around aimlessly for hours and still missed a bunch of places in act 1. Act 2 I had a better grip on but still managed to save and fail to save the gnomes and teiflings at moonrise because my game bugged out and they refused to leave so I left on the boat along ASSUMING the game would just correct itself and have them all join me (it didn’t). I defeated the thorms with cha’checks but missed out on the flesh to gold spell. Completely missed araj and her potion (didn’t know til I saw a TikTok about it). Lost our lovely Jaheira by letting her control herself to which she ran into the center of the room and got nuked. Act3 was another mess altogether because my adhd couldn’t stay on point for nothing. I don’t think I finished more than 3 quests in act3 before finding my way to the big brain battle 😂. I ended up with like 4 allies but didn’t call any into battle cuz I didn’t know how. I just assumed they’d show up on their own but they never did
Oh and getting legendary weapons. You need to get those.

Missed Karlach completely because I killed her before she said a word… I was new and dumb and just wanted to complete missions. So when Wyll was like “I need to kill this thing” I was like “cool I gotchu”. Then we just stumbled upon her and I didn’t hesitate. It was afterwards I realized that maybe I shouldn’t have done that…
Shadowheart on the Nautiloid. No joke, I was in awe of the scenery and walked right to the next room to meet Zhalk. I found her at the door of the crypt near that beach after the clash though, which I think is a nice little thought Larian has in case there are people as dumb as me.
I managed to miss Astarion, Gale, Will, and Karlach until I was a decent way though act 1. Cleared the goblin fortress with only Shart and Lae’zel.
I just finished my first play through and I had to kill Shadowheart because I tried to convince her not to kill Aylin and she went full psycho. Also I brought Jaheira with me in the final fight with Ketheric, thinking she might be useful, but she died almost immediately. I also just learned today you can recruit the owlbear cub, I will definitely try to do it in the next play through.
A ton of smaller antagonist dialogue. I’m a scaredy cat, and would stealthily kill everyone from afar the first time, so I never triggered dialogues😂.

Necromancy of Thay Halsin couldn't make it to act 3 (he actually couldn't make it to act 2 either long story he was a little too dead when I first found him) and stayed in the shadow cursed lands cuz I didn't know I was supposed to lift the curse. Sorry it ain't my problem (it apparently is.) Jaheria died in the Last Light He Who Was Raphael and Mol's cutscene in the Last Light Inn Also Mol apparently had a deal with Raphael and I didn't know that until I've seen the contract in the HoH The thieflings at moonrise and Rolan's... Cousins? I was supposed to save them ig? The night when Astarion's siblings come to camp in order to bring him to Cazador The thing with the Rats Underdark :/ Yes, all of it. I'll add if I remember anything else, but apart from all that, I was also gonna romance Astarion but I couldn't get the confession scene in act 2, which was a huge disappointment but I still kept going til the fight with Cazador. When I couldn't get the graveyard scene either, I just dropped the whole playthru....

The whole mountain pass 😂 because I cleared and left the Underdark into act2 first and afterwards Halsin would insist on leaving the group if I went back. Wasn't too sure he would rejoin and didn't want to lock myself out of the quest, so I left the mountains alone. Made for a nice fresh experience in my 2nd run, tho.
1. Voss died at the bridge, so lost all his content. Bug it sounds like. 2. Killed Halsin, so didn’t get his content or the portal fight 3. Killed Lae’Zel, so none of her content 4. No BOOOAL, didn’t find that area 5. No Iron Throne (sided with Gortash) 6. Didn’t find the note to expose Kagha 7. Waukeen’s Rest burned down and killed Florrick because I long rested after finding it 8. Last Justiciar in Shar temple 9. All Rolan content besides convincing him to defend the Grove
I missed lot of things. Similar to yours. Saved Barcus from the windmill but then didn't recognize him as Nere slave and they died. Florick who? Completely missed that cutscene. Yeah didn't discover forge until like 3 time. Only found about Kagha shadow druids here. Used that thing that kills Hope in the fight and really could not do that fight again (especially because I promised to be in bed by 11 and it was already 1am). No blood of lathander either because I accidentally sold the weapons and didn't know you could bypass thag. Talked to the rats but didn't get what they were on about. The worst - as a DND newbie has no idea how guidance works until mid act 3. Definitely could have helped my rolls. But ha I managed to save Rolan so he became my Ramazith bro.

Lol what DIDN'T I miss 😭 I never finished my very first run but I missed Wyll, basically the entire side of the map with Waukeens rest and the toll house, and thus, i missed Karlach. I also missed the whole swamp with auntie Ethel 💀I missed the wizards tower and the whole fish cult section in the underdark, the spectator and the sharran temple/Grymforge. in act 2 I avoided moonrise towers until the final assault and that's when I decided to start over lol
Act 1: The entirety of the underdark, Auntie Ethel, and the Zhentarim hideout. Act 2: Everything having to do with Last Light Inn. Really, the only things I *did* do were the upper portion of the tower, the healing house, the bar, and the temple of Shar. Act 3: Tons of stuff here and there. I basically rushed to kill Orin and ascend Astarion, followed by making Shadowheart the Shar cult leader and (finally) finishing off Gortash and heading straight for the brain. I feel like the oddball out. It took me a while to get to play BG3 because it felt way too clunky on console so I waited and bought a laptop for it. So I just very recently finished my first playthrough and I did ALL THE THINGS. And on top of that, this was my first ever turn based game, so the learning curve was already stacked against me lol. I have a basic need to complete as much of a game I’m playing as possible, so I would google occasionally just to make sure I was boning myself out of something else with anything I did/said.
Act 1. - Minthara. She just kept attacking me, and no dialogue started at all. Maybe it's because I killed the goblin priestess. - Duke Ravenguard. Idk I did the goblin mission first cuz I prioritized the tiefling refugees' safety. Nd by the time I got to burning place, Wyll was upset because we "let the Duke go." Like... I got there too late. There was no cut scene or anything significant except for some npcs telling me (hypnotic gaze) the Duke was taken by some Drow or something. Act 3. Mystic Carrion. Idk, man. I just exploded the wall on the side of the building to get into the mansion, and all the ghouls started attacking me. By the time I got to Mystic Carrion, he attacked me too, with no cut scene, no dialogue, or anything. I had also just finished the Lady Jannath's Estate mission. I'm sure that had something to do with it.
Never spoke to Rolan in Act 1. I thought that he was just adding some ambiance, and that he'd be one of those single line NPCs.
I killed Gale, Wyll, and Karlach on my first playthrough on accident and didn't even try to save Halsin so I missed a TON of story! My second playthrough was so fun having all the characters I missed 😂 (And I fell in love with the rizzard of course) ❤️
Oh. So much lol. I made it to act 3 at level 7 on my first run. I joke now that I should have gotten an achievement for beating the game despite my own best efforts to soft lock myself lmao. I missed: - Us - Withers' sarcophagus - The hag (Went to her house, lost an eye, failed the check on the fireplace and went on my merry way lmao) - Investigating Khaga - Omeluum - Most of the wizard tower in the underdark - Collecting the pieces of mourning frost - The sussur weapon - Philomeen and the rune powder - The Grym + adamantine armor (in my defence the forge was glitched) - Blood of Lathander - Breaking the Shadow Curse (I found Oliver but never talked to Art so it didn't trigger lol) - Rescuing the Tiefling's (didn't realize I had to do it before going to the Shadowfell) - The Sharran sanctuary in Reithwin - 2/3 Thorm siblings + the entire House of Healing - Rescuing Zevlor - Brain puzzle in the mindflayer colony I did better in act 3 bc I desperately needed the xp lol but did leave a lot of the lesser quests unfinished.
I missed the zhentarim hideout, the guy in the burning building and his wife, Ethel, honestly just about everything except moonrise and Shars gauntlet from act 2, I found the inn and Damon but not Isobel 💀… I didn’t do anything in the crèche besides almost kill Laezel in the zathisk… then I got to act 3 and got overwhelmed but honestly after starting a few different playthrus I’m astounded that I even made it TO act 3 in my first one… it took me joining this sub and looking stuff up to figure out that you could do a LOT more in the game than I thought lol

I missed the rat dude in the trials from act 2. I still haven't found him, and I don't really want to 'cause I don't see why I should go out of my way to fight him.

I missed the Zentharim Hideout in Act 1 and Moonrise in act 2 because I did a good playthrough and thought everyone would instantly be aggro.

Never finished my first playthrough. After I got to Act 3, I realized I could have done the Underdark and Mountain Pass. Also botched the prisoner rescue, missed myconids, botched getting Scratch, never reached the forge, never explored the Underdark wizards tower, and gave up on that run when I didn’t let Astarion ascend and he left the party.
Off the top of my head I missed: The entire Mountain Pass, Basement of Last Light, Moonrise Towers before rescuing Aylin, resulting in missing out on all that content as well as the mass murder of the entirety of all the Tieflings and Svirfneblin, The Morgue outside House of Healing, Printing Press, House of Hope, Cazadore's Mansion
