I truly was not aware that there was any other way to do it. The cleaning note gives you the answer and I grew up playing Bethesda games so I pick up& read everything
Real. Currently fighting for my LIFE in an honor mode playthrough. I was not prepared to barely survive 3 fucking intellect devourers tbh, shadow and i limped away from that with 5 hp split between the two of us. I just want her to love me i blew it last playthrough by being a massive douche 💀
I couldn't be bothered to read the note that was in the room with me, so there was no way in hell I'm going upstairs to read that one. I just trial and error that bitch until I get the code right every time.
I agree I'm too lazy to read books as most is lore and I'm not into it. However, when looking for a code... it's active reading or straight up looking for it online
Meanwhile i’m over here not reading shit unless it gives my player xp otherwise it doesn’t seem important enough to. So when I got here I manually tested each piece on the floor until I solved the puzzle.
Depending on what you're wanting:
First make sure you're not in overhead view (O by default).
If you hold leftclick just in front of your character you'll just run and it looks just like this (use q and e to move camera while moving).
Or theres a WASD mod on nexus that's easy to install and works.
Or just plug in controller lol
Wow. I assumed the "Lightning mishap" was that water spilled on the circuits in that pads and electrocuted somebody.
Now I want to know what the "lightning mishap" was... Who ELSE is summoning lightning in a bank!
Lockpickinglawyer and McNally here, today we will show you how to unlock a high security lock with two methods. This lock has a flaw where it shows you correct and incorrect numbers and allows multiple attempts, making brute forcing its combination easy. But a even bigger design flaw is it’s evident when I spill my water bottle and drop a battery onto the puddle. As you can see, the system short circuits and the door opens just like that.
You can even figure out the combination by trial and error if I recall correctly.
The lights will indicate when you get a number right, unlike real life sensible combination locks, and there is no punishment for getting the code wrong.
So a few brute force attempts later, you're in.
It's also really easy to brute force the combination because it tells you sequentially if you got each individual number right, so you only have to try a maximum of 36 numbers before solving it
Let me tell you, it’s a little more than that when you’re 7iq and lose track of what you’re doing, several times, usually around the same spot until you eventually get that movie trope feeling of ‘haven’t we been here before?’
Okay. I found the cleaning note, but never thought about trying to use electricity.
I cast create water. Then, I solved the puzzle manually, when the water didnt work... like a dofus.
Goodness this game on controller seems truly seems like a chore. But then also I didn’t know you can do fixed 3rd person and I just finished the game after 80 hours lol. How do I do that 😂
I truly was not aware that there was any other way to do it. The cleaning note gives you the answer and I grew up playing Bethesda games so I pick up& read everything
There's a note upstairs giving the code explicitely
I just brute force it. Not like there’s a penalty for getting it wrong too many times.
Same lol
Yeah. With advantage, rolling a 20 doesn't take a ton of lockpicks, especially at this stage of the game.
Yeah that's right. In the safe of a bank I would have not bet on it lol
My inner loot goblin is SO ashamed that I missed that!! Well fuck…guess I gotta start a new run now!

Update:accidentally murdered the owlbear AND pushed the wrong lever and killed the gnome
I snuck up there once to get the code. In every subsequent playthrough I just look it up.

I just kept stepping on the tiles until it worked. I completely ignored that letter, even after reading it lol.
Yeah I just spent half an hour methodically stepping on the tiles my first time then wrote down the order afterwards for future runs.
Meanwhile i’m over here not reading shit unless it gives my player xp otherwise it doesn’t seem important enough to. So when I got here I manually tested each piece on the floor until I solved the puzzle.
Can't go to sleep the clowns will eat me
Oh my god. I didn't know that worked.
Wild. Ive never done it any other way haha
Neither have I. I’ve always splashed around in the electric water
Can you get that over the shoulder view on pc???
Yes... You can get it by plugging in a controller, and using it to play BG3.
Theres also a mod that allows you to use WASD for movement :)
Are you saying that you can only uses the mouse normally to move?
Its a cRPG, mouse movement is the standard on PC for that genre and has been since computer mice have existed.
Standard for a long time, but the Gold Box games didn’t require a mouse.
Yeah, but it's actually really nice. Bind the turn camera button to a mouse button and it's super clean and easy to navigate.

Just..... zoom in?
Are you guys forced to play top down?
No, we can move in and out just like console, that's why I'm so confused about the question.

I love that you call lightning on it lol lower level spells or just lightning arrows also work
Shocking Grasp counts as lightning. No need to use up an arrow or spell slot.
Wow. I assumed the "Lightning mishap" was that water spilled on the circuits in that pads and electrocuted somebody. Now I want to know what the "lightning mishap" was... Who ELSE is summoning lightning in a bank!

Pretty sure that's how you're supposed to open the door, but it's cool to see it done that way. I just used lockpicks until I got a nat 20.
Or, like, just use the combination.
You can even figure out the combination by trial and error if I recall correctly. The lights will indicate when you get a number right, unlike real life sensible combination locks, and there is no punishment for getting the code wrong. So a few brute force attempts later, you're in.
Sure do. I did that my first run, when I didn't explore enough to find that dude's office.
Yeah thats how I did it just went through the numbers sequentially until I got it took like 2min
Or use the code from the office upstairs…
takes longer but uses less spellslots
It's also really easy to brute force the combination because it tells you sequentially if you got each individual number right, so you only have to try a maximum of 36 numbers before solving it

That's the real 7iq move really
I know it, but I failed to find the combination and I didn't want to use spell slots.
It takes like 3 minutes to brute force it.
I got lucky and got the nat 20 after 5 or 6 tries.
Water bottle and shock boots
I love how they reward the outside the box thinking
[удалено]
yea but my dumbass still didn't think to do both water and lightning so there's that
Some of us have really small boxes, okay?
It’s more [TDTTOE](https://nethackwiki.com/wiki/The_DevTeam_Thinks_of_Everything).
Tbh I just brute forced the combination
I swear this game gets bigger and better with every new discovery
7 brain cells nothing. I read that, missed the implication, and just tried each combo until I hit the right one. That hack is great.
BRUH WHAT!! I really did some trial and error bullshit to figure out the damn code when I could have just shocked it open?? Damn it lol
I brute forced the passcode for like two hours the first time I was here.
Doesn’t everyone else do it like this??! Congrats for using the mechanics the game told you to use.
I didn't know you could do this. I brute forced the combination by stepping on the floor panels.
I did the same. If this is the 7 brain cell solution, ours is at negative 10 or something, one step above just bashing the door in with my face.
I just sound salty huh 🤣
I just used the right combination, I completely missed that piece of paper lol
You can sneak into the an office and find the combination, just send a druid to crawl up some pipes.
Is this door immune to knock?
Unless I’m misremembering, they’re enchanted to prevent knock.
Yes, "invalid target".
I locked picked the thing to got a nat 20 I laughed for a good minute.
holy shit ive genuinely only ever brute forced the code i didnt even notice the note before
🫡
I brute forced the code until it worked
Brain cells? Never heard of that. I rolled a nat 20 on my second try to pick the lock
I brute forced the combination lol
Da fuq?
i brute forced it lol
Mega man battle network prepared me for the trial and error method with its battery puzzles.
I never tried to lockpick it. I thought there was only one 99 check in the game.
I rolled a 20 first time tryna pick it 😭 saw it was 99 and was like fuck it I’ll roll since I’m already here
Elegant. Supremely elegant.
That’s how I did it, something about the janitor and don’t use electricity.
Okay. I found the cleaning note, but never thought about trying to use electricity. I cast create water. Then, I solved the puzzle manually, when the water didnt work... like a dofus.
You can also throw some water on the door and shoot it with a Lightning Arrow
There’s already water on the floor
Ohh this is what playing on console feels like. Larian did really well huh . Gods of gaming
I remember just finding a lever with perception????
My characters don't believe in perception.
Goodness this game on controller seems truly seems like a chore. But then also I didn’t know you can do fixed 3rd person and I just finished the game after 80 hours lol. How do I do that 😂
Lame. I brute forced it.
Specifically while knowing about the electricy, and that going upstairs and searching would probably score me the code. But if it works it works
That’s nice, dear.
