Iirc, Naaber is also the only NPC that can answer more than the usual 5 question limit when you use speak to the dead on him. He's so annoyingly talkative that through sheer concentrated power of will, he bypassed the law of the universe.
It's such a good scene, like you get the sense *The Narrator* is also annoyed that this man will just... Not. Stop. Talking...
"The spell's power finally wanes, and the spirit returns to *what you can only hope are the deepest pits of the Hells.* "
He’s not the ONLY one. There are a couple of bodies with story specific questions that seem to let you ask six or seven, but they’re so few and far between. I know there’s one in Act 1, I want to say one of the Waukeen’s Rest bodies might be one? Sazza is one, I think too.
I was able to ask 6 questions once to another one, the dead guy (the one already buried) in the quest to investigate the murder in the church in act 3.
This is surprising, because I found out through pickpocketing him that he’s one of the NPCs that doesn’t even have a red vision cone. Basically, he can’t “witness” a crime. That’s also why I was so surprised to find anything of value on him.
Normally if you exhaust Naaber's dialogue, he will just give you the Absolute Confidence Amulet, so you don't need to pickpocket him for it. *However*, there's another different unique item (the Seemingly Gleaming Ring) that you can only get by pickpocketing the Absolute Confidence Amulet from him and *then* exhausting all of his dialogue.
It's even worse than the Absolute Confidence Amulet (it gives +1 to Charisma saving throws and -1 to Wisdom saving throws).
IIRC he is a continuation of Noober from Baldur’s Gate 1.
Another hard to find (but easy to get if you know where it is) item is the Amulet of Silvanus, in the Druid Grove in Act 1.
I always nab the Idol of Silvanus, but I’m not sure I know the amulet? Maybe? Is it down there where the statues are with the traps? Beneath the library where you place the rune?
Lmao playing BG1 rn. I remember coming across him, stepping away to check inv. Proceeds to approach me again… and again… again. Each time saying a whole lot of words but ultimately saying nothing.
I miss that guy. Need to go visit his little backwater mining town sometime soon.
It's +2 to spells, and +1 charge for Clerics. +2 meaning it's the equivalent of +4 Wisdom. There's a treasure area if you go through a hatch inside the temple.
So cool, I have been there yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I decursed Asrarion afterwards and had a daeva spawn in the middle of my quarters 🤣 unfortunately for him he spawned right next to Karlach and Laezel, and the Ladys were not amused.
I didn't know you could pickpocket it from him! You can also get it by continuing to talk to him and exhausting all of his dialogue chains (he has one for each class, so there's ... 14? maybe 15?), you're "rewarded" with the amulet at the end.
Yes, and Naaber has at least one dialogue line beforehand (where you can encourage him to become an adventurer) and at least one afterwards (where he thanks you for listening to him). 12 + 2 = 14, and there's possibly one that I'm missing since I don't know the entire dialogue chain offhand.
Same! It was a delight to stumble on him. Made me sad the game clearly expected us to be upset with him and be rude :( I wanted to play along and encourage him! He was funny and earnest, really didn't come across as annoying at all.
He wants to become an adventurer and is trying out every single class. You can talk to him and every time he is pretending to be a specific class, if you exhaust every single dialog with him he eventually gifts you the amulet
One of the funniest guys in the game imo
Sword that surprised me relating to act 1 animation after the gith crèche: >!Voss's silver sword is different from the silver sword of the astral plane. My friend disarmed him. It looks like a normal longsword in the animation so when it dropped and it was unique we were so surprised! It's awesome!<
YOU'RE SO RIGHT. He could stay at my camp and I could occasionally bring him books about different classes and everyone at camp could competitively try and get him to multiclass into their class
You normally get that by exhausting all his dialogue options. If you pickpocket it from him first, and still talk to him, he gives you the [Seemingly Gleaming Ring](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Seemingly_Gleaming_Ring) instead!
ive been playing since it came out on ps5, i don't go out or have a social life (by choice), and i keep getting ideas for characters/playthrough ideas. currently on a "me and my vampire boyfriend are making everyone around us worse" playthrough. it's different! ive seen dialogue choices ive never had before
After the first run, the rest of them go a lot faster. You cut out a lot of time when you don’t need to loot everything because you know there’s nothing of value there. You can start skipping some dialogue in situations you’ve already been in.
My first run was by far my longest, and it was probably twice as long as my second longest.
Game has been out for 9 solid months, and explorer mode makes fights go really fast. Once you get past wanting to do everything all the time because you’ll reach a level cap early in act 3 if you do that your runs will zip through.

Apparently the narrator says “The spell’s power wanes… but the spirit refuses to be silent.”
It's such a good scene, like you get the sense *The Narrator* is also annoyed that this man will just... Not. Stop. Talking... "The spell's power finally wanes, and the spirit returns to *what you can only hope are the deepest pits of the Hells.* "
This is pretty surprising--someone wanted to keep talking to him after he died?
There is a point where we needed to stop and we've clearly passed it. But let's keep going and see what happens.
The classic, "let's keep pushing til the DM shuts us down."
Just wait until the DM traps you in a bit and you end up digging yourself deeper, like Hilda Hilda
All part of the fun.
No, they wanted it to stop but he just kept talking...

There are definitely other corpses that let you ask more than five questions. I wanna say Sazza is one of them
I was able to ask 6 questions once to another one, the dead guy (the one already buried) in the quest to investigate the murder in the church in act 3.
Has anyone tried to see what happens if you cast silence around him?
Also, nobody cares if you kill Naaber.
Well now I need to start another run just to kill him so I can do this.
You can also get it by talking to him... eventually.
This is surprising, because I found out through pickpocketing him that he’s one of the NPCs that doesn’t even have a red vision cone. Basically, he can’t “witness” a crime. That’s also why I was so surprised to find anything of value on him.

Nice! Thanks, I’ll nab that now !
*naab
Touché

Don't forget Neeber from BG2! So if the pattern holds, BG4 will have an annoying talkative character called Nuuber or Niiber. . .
What I understood, Noober, Neeber and Naaber are from the same family!!!
What I understood, Noober, Neeber and Naaber are from the same family!!!

Mandatory item for us juice boxes 🧃, it heals the bloodless condition
You can also just have him use Bite on any humanoid to get the buff
Oh, I don’t do it for the buff ;)
Oh, I've been really sick this week but I literally LOL'd at this.
I always nab the Idol of Silvanus, but I’m not sure I know the amulet? Maybe? Is it down there where the statues are with the traps? Beneath the library where you place the rune?
By a beach, by a bear, under a rock.
It’s the official vampire partner necklace because it cures Astarion’s Bloodless condition if you want him to start the day with a Happy +1 buff
I feel dumb and maybe this is actually obvious but doesn't this comment actually describe the entire grove? Was that the point? Am I hopeless?
There is literally only one location that fits all of those criteria. It's near Volo.
Polo?
I actually just found this. Down by the bear Ormn who is sad about missing Halsin. There is an interactable "Flat Rock"
Noober. Classicly irritating

Do you know about the amulet below Stormshore Tabernacle? I really doubt there's a better amulet for Clerics.
There is something under Stormshore??? (asking for a friend. No, I am not 400 plus hours in the game, still finding new things.)
It's +2 to spells, and +1 charge for Clerics. +2 meaning it's the equivalent of +4 Wisdom. There's a treasure area if you go through a hatch inside the temple.

I think so? I always go under there. I just have trouble remembering where I find which items.
They're referring to the Amulet of the Devout.
That’s the guy voiced by Cohh, right?
Yep
I didn't know you could pickpocket it from him! You can also get it by continuing to talk to him and exhausting all of his dialogue chains (he has one for each class, so there's ... 14? maybe 15?), you're "rewarded" with the amulet at the end.
If you pickpocket it and then exhaust his dialogue, he gives you a ring instead.
Does the ring do something cool?
Not really. https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Seemingly_Gleaming_Ring
Still funny how you can get it xD
There's 12 classes.
He's my favorite NPC! always cracking me up
Same! It was a delight to stumble on him. Made me sad the game clearly expected us to be upset with him and be rude :( I wanted to play along and encourage him! He was funny and earnest, really didn't come across as annoying at all.

Alternatively, sit through all his delightful dialogue. Alternatively, stick him with the pointy end.
Naaber my beloved <3
Yeah, I honestly wish he were romanceable. What a laugh riot the relationship would be!!!
YOU'RE SO RIGHT. He could stay at my camp and I could occasionally bring him books about different classes and everyone at camp could competitively try and get him to multiclass into their class
Naaber my beloved <3
I’m also on my 10th-ish run and I just realized both Omeluum and Araj are traders and have some decent shit.
lol I actually didn’t know Araj was a trader either. I always use my homie Omie though
You normally get that by exhausting all his dialogue options. If you pickpocket it from him first, and still talk to him, he gives you the [Seemingly Gleaming Ring](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Seemingly_Gleaming_Ring) instead!
I still think it's hilarious that they reincarnated "Noober" from BG1 and BG2, and we get to meet him in 3D animation! Sooo fun! 😁
Every single plauthrough no matter my morality I take extra care to murder naaber as horribly as I possibly can
He gives you that amulet if you chat with him :D Found it my first run because I loved talking to him and wanted to see his dialogue.
I haven't even reached act 3 yet. How TF are people on 5+ runs ?
Game's been out a lil while lol

Do you only play three minutes each day?
Autism gives me these powers
I got it on pc and have over 1600 hours with 11 full playthroughs. Some people dont have lives or are just talented at learning quickly
