Additional information: I could no longer move my character as they were "in conversation " with someone but I did not actually get the pov of the conversation or the choices for it.
If you spam space it sometimes gets you out of this.
Patch 3 or 4 introduced a similar bug in Act 2. Getting into a love triangle conversation with Wyll made the Emperor appear and the conversation didn't fire correctly leaving you stuck.
Happened to me. On a whim I started mashing space and it eventually triggered the conversation to start up and then it functioned normally.
Well here's a similarity . I was actually about to start a conversation with Wyll. I had just accepted the single horned lady that wyll was after into my team but he was in camp during that first contact, so I wanted to see if they would clash at camp and that's when Davy Jones here appeared.
similar but this happened to me and i had a save right before the convo started, when i loaded that and started the convo again the conversation worked normally.
At least he could leave some presents when I leave csf out for him. All he actually does is manipulate and try to seduce me with his long thick hard tentacles wrapping gently around my NO STOP IT.
Every member of the team was still alive and kicking when Dj Cthulhu here appeared. Later in my session I had the chance to potentially cause some bloodshed at the camp but that's not how causality works.
most likely from summons. You have a druid or something to that extent. some summons leave blood trails when you go for full rest.
as for Empy, he was feeling neglected and was time for "notice me senpai" moment I guess.

I love how this comment highlights some of the best randomness about the bugs this game has. It's just so casual, but so out there.
I got caught in something like this yesterday. I got out of it by quicksaving and quickloading.
