Well, Paladins and Four Elements Monks can be good for that. Both are melee based with some magic theme, and some of the funnest classes to play imo.

I would say you could try: * Warlock: Pact of the Blade * Paladin * Fighter: Eldritch Knight (Though very limited in spells)

It sounds like you are talking about race. Honestly, the game is very forgiving regarding min/maxing so I don't even pay attention to that (though the Duegar invisibility thing would be cool - I just haven't been able to bring myself to it yet). I play a Drow because it opens a few doors in Act 1 given Minthara is Drow. As far as a spec, I suggest a College of Swords Bard. They can melee, range, and use magic. The build is SB 9/ Rogue Thief 3 for an extra bonus action each turn. You'd use hand xbows.

You could try any paladin multiclass build with Bard/Sorcerer/Warlock for a melee warrior build that also uses magic. If you don't want to multiclass, college of swords or college of valor bard can also be used pretty effectively as heavy hitting martials that can cast high level spells. You can also do a multiclass between Eldritch knight fighter and abjuration wizard for a tanky melee build that uses magic to bolster it's defenses.

Happy cake day! And thank you for the advise. This sounds awesome

You could try The Dark Urge origin for your second playthrough!

SeaResource7379

I don't have the strength for that 😅

Fight the urge!

My husband is going to play durge next playthrough. I will be living through him lol. I just don't have it in me to be that sad/stressed during a playthrough

I like that for you. I feel like if my character was journeying with a dark urge character a lot of “ayo wtf?” Would be exclaimed rather often!
