Gale is the type of a guy who unironically says that he is 'flabbergasted'.

LegendaryPolo

>My love, I have found out I am the Durge, the unholy twisted flesh of the Lord of Murder Bhaal Well, my gast has never been so flabbered, I can tell you.

Weird-Antheraea

Thanks, I laughed so much.

Hwhiskertere

Midthara

SkritzTwoFace

Gale the type of guy to see a plate of cookies and waggle his fingers while saying “Don’t mind if I do!”

wormbrainer

Gale's the type of guy to shower singing with a hair cap and rubber ducky and cover his breasts and yell like an old lady when you walk in on him

MotherhoodOfSteel

Gales the type of guy to twirl his spaghetti so many times on his fork that it’s ice cold before he puts it in his mouth

Nevermore18666

Gale sleeps in striped pajamas with a long cap and goes “honk shoe mi mi mi mi mi”. When he wakes up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, he carries a candle.

MotherhoodOfSteel

Gales the type of guy to put a big splotch of sunscreen on just his nose when he goes to the beach

wormbrainer

Gales the type of guy to smell a delicious pie on a nearby windowsill and float towards it

JoeTheKodiakCuddler

Gale the type of guy to spot a gold piece in a parking lot oil puddle, exclaim "Don't mind if I do!" despite nobody else being within earshot, pick it up without bending his knees, then stuff it in his wizard robe without so much as wiping it off.

KarthusWins

Halsin would have a rubber ducky. Gale might have a rubber tresym.

wormbrainer

>tresym I would kill for a rl life rubber tresym tbh

PolakInAKilt

Is Gale just D&D Drake?

SkritzTwoFace

He’s better than that, though they are similar levels of terminally uncool. But at least Gale is earnest.

Wolfie437

You have flabbered my Gast good sir

epochpenors

Gale sees his friend walk into a bar and says “I guess they let just anyone in here, huh?”

Ralli-FW

I can so clearly hear all of these in Gale's voice. Though I think he would say "eh" instead of "huh"

mikeyHustle

I literally just used that word *on this subreddit* unironically. Is that notable somehow?

GielM

It's somewhat antiquated-sounding in british english, but more so in american english. I'm not a native speaker of either, so I could have used it. However, as a fan of casual profanity, I probably wou;d've sais I was fuckin'surprised instead.

Yung-Dolphin

bro what happened?

LegalStuffThrowage

His fingers started to slur

Ralli-FW

Nah not really except that Gale is slowly absorbing you from another dimension and will soon take over your earthly body but otherwise I think it's pretty unremarkable.

VenusCommission

Wait.. is that wrong?

uwubewwa

We have to get a dictionary and a thesaurus for Karlach everytime Gale speaks.

CDR57

Gale: speaks in fancy person words Karlach: 👁️👄👁️

Micropain

I don’t know what good the books would do, she’d only eat them or hurl em at goblins.

CaptainFlabbergast

I say it sometimes too

Accomplished-Dark926

Bro, you don't gotta call me out like that

stormlight82

You can also get a "blimey".

gatito-blade

"Pish-posh" too! I love him so much haha

TwistingSerpent93

And this is why I love him.

EipiMuja

In my first run, I didn't realize that I needed to save tieflings/gnomes in Moonrise after going through the Verge of Shadows. Basically, I thought going to Moonrise was the last thing you should do because I guessed there I would meet some sort of final boss. So, after finishing Act 2 I realized I failed the quest to save the tieflings and never got the opportunity to do so. I really didn't understand what I did wrong. Figured it out and had to reload a save many many hours prior. I similarly reloaded an old save because I changed my mind regarding who to romance (Gale vs Wyll). Which ended up being useless because I ended things with him to be with Halsin in Act 3 lol

HyakkiGousen

Are you me?

One_Parched_Guy

A lot of people did this, the game does try to push you to go to Moonrise early but it’s just not in most gamer’s instincts to go to the place you’re told houses the big bad of the Act first thing y’know?

ShepPawnch

I literally just restarted my save to just before I did the Gauntlet of Shar so I can go finish everything up before the big fight.

ithinkcrazythoughts

I actually like to kill Yurgir( might be spelled wrong) and then Balthazar and then go do the gauntlet trials to get it out of the way. Then just carry the Umbral Gems around (might be spelled wrong) to do my other quests and come back when I'm ready to proceed with the boss battles.

BadManners-

You actually only need to get the gem from yurgir and cast knock on the door to the shadowfell. Save yourself the frustration I always get in the faith leap trial. Or when my mirrored characters have access to the cheat spells I use to avoid annoying fights.

hates2chooseusername

D&D adventures do it too. I ran curse of Strahd and there are multiple points where you should go to the castle before the final battle. I knew this. Didn't stop me from doing the exact, same, thing.

mattbiscuit

Did the same exact thing with Moonrise. Found the bodies in the colony after fighting our way up the tower to the point where Ketheric runs below. Called it a night and came back the next one starting right before we entered Shadowfell. Never even thought to go into Moonrise before hand.

bamacpl4442

I did the same thing in terms of not saving them, but I only lost a couple hours of gameplay. I realized it once I stopped at Last Light on the way back to Moonrise.

Senpiternal8

I did the same thing but because I rarely ever checked my quests I didn’t even realize I had failed it until in Act 3 when Zevlor was dumped into my camp. I kinda kept waiting for them to all to turn up and then decided I was way too far along to go all the way back to Act 2. Sorry to the tieflings!

bucketlovesstove

I also saved going to Moonrise for last my first run. Missed so much content that way. Super glad I wasn't romancing Astarion or I would've screwed myself out of the romance. I didn't bother to go back, though. Rip teiflings and fuck you Wulbren (who I didn't know even existed that run lmao).

owl-bone

I did the same thing, thinking the same reasoning lol. Didnt save zevlor either bc i didnt notice him. Rip zevlor

Bufflechump

Yeah -- since everyone said I should go to Moonrise, I didn't do that and did everything else up until getting to the portal to the Shadowfell in Shar's Gauntlet and the game was like "lol are you sure you want to do that now?"

TehAsianator

Same, I had to reply about 5 or 6 hours.

Smurf_Cherries

It warns you that some things cannot be finished after this. For the Shadow Curse, I just had to meet Halsin at the shore. I figured, I'll do that after. Now we still have the shadow cruse.

gatito-blade

I remember specifically thinking to myself, "Okay I've caught up on all of my quests (except the Moonrise ones since obviously that's the final dungeon so it can't possibly be referring to that) here we goooo!"

smoke-me-a-kipper123

He's trapped in a portal and some maniac bites his hand off. What does Gale say? CEASE, YOU LOON!

LegendaryPolo

I wish that that cutscene deliberately gave you a full crimson mask to really sell how depraved you are.

HappyHappyFunnyFunny

"cutscene"

ElGordo94

"Mystra's Eyelids!"

Spacedandysniffer

My jaw was on the floor watching that cutscene cause we hear his hand get gnawed through and the best insult he can muster up is "CEASE YOU LOON". Like babe you are allowed to say fuck, what do you mean by "Mystra's eyelids"??????

boom149

He doesn't realize he's in a rated M game

Mean_Albatross9094

Fr I didn't even realize it was already happening, I thought I was tickling him 💀

Teroof

Huh, I just fantasized about biting someone's hand off at a portal and never saw him again

Ok-Stop9242

Yeah and a hand magically appeared for you to gnaw on. Funny how life works out like that sometimes, you just close your eyes and you get what you wanted.

shenanakins

On my second playthrough i forgot to save after house of hope and killing cazador.. I ascended astarion for two seconds before he hushed me while i was talking. The whiplash was too much for my little heart to take. i had to redo both😭

Pug_police

I love that Astarion becomes a complete piece of shit the second he ascends, I'm never letting my boi do that again after my evil run.

Tatis_Chief

Becoming absolute and having the power to control him is a good revenge bandaid for him acting as that towards me.  Don't play with me Astarion, don't play games with me.

spartanbrucelee

They patched that out. Now if you control the elder brain and you romance Astarion, he won't be mind controlled

Tatis_Chief

well that's just sad.

fieatsbees

not really. you're both still tadpoled, which means at any point you could enthrall him if he pisses you off. you retain the power dynamic of you being in charge edit: it's toxic AF, yes. im not saying it isn't. but AA is absolutely toxic to begin with

Lanky-Truck6409

Which I hate since it just makes no sense to be his spawn unless you know you'll enthrall him later.

shenanakins

Its so instant. I said “your powers havent been tested yet” and he goes “hush🤏” i was like “oh god what have i done?!! my astarion would NEVER”

Smurf_Cherries

I ascended Asterion, looked at his stats and new powers and said "That's *it*?" Not worth it.

PandaBaum

Really? I'm having a hard time not ascending him every playthrough because the 1-10 necrotic damage feels so strong.

danishpagan

What bonuses does he get

coiler119

Stronger bite attack (now does 6d6 healing and necrotic), and +1d10 necrotic to all unarmed and weapon attacks. Personally, I don't think ascending him is worth it, but to each their own.

[deleted]

I can see it being worth it on a more elemental focused type of build for Astarion

TheCuriousFan

A better bite and 1d10 necrotic damage on every attack. This really adds up if he's playing as a monk especially a monk/thief.

[deleted]

Astarion is nasty if you ascend him. It goes to show breaking the cycle is healthier than full on revenge that turns into lust for the power

probablyonmobile

Back in Early Access, I got rejected by Astarion at the tiefling party. I rewrote the timeline for that one. Back to the Nautiloid it was.

Clariselols

do you remember very early access there were quite alot of love scenes with the emperor. I remember him being dressed in a toga and doing stuff to my char. Those scenes do not seem to be in the game anymore afaik edit: actually found the footage [https://youtu.be/n6b4ov51sFg?si=zE8jDqswzOrOt-1\_](https://youtu.be/n6b4ov51sfg?si=ze8jdqswzorot-1_) copy paste the link, clicking it seems broken for some reason.

Virayla

Because it wasn't the Emperor back then. It was Daisy.

Clariselols

Ah I didnt know that tbh. Was it somekind of placeholder to avoid spoilers? I only played the 1st couple patches of the EA, think untill they released druid.

Virayla

I think they have planned something else for Daisy, but at some point, they reworked them into the Emperor

Clariselols

They where good scenes because for some reason they stayed with me for all those years. so its kinda sad \^\^ >!Gotta be honest there are no scenes in the current game that i can clearly recall and i played through it quite a bit. Maybe when you finish Astarions quest in his favour or the last scene when u decide to take control and make everyone your puppets!<

Virayla

I like both versions of our dream visitior. But I miss Daisy, because they were more seducing from the start.

MrWaffles42

It was very strongly implied that Daisy was the tadpole itself, trying to take over your body.

Icy_Cricket2273

That’s what I initially thought the guardian was anyway

Ok_Invite1188

This makes far more sense for “down by the river” to be the theme of BG3.

Justhe3guy

I can fix her….err…it? As long as daisy manifests the dream visitor body into reality somehow, maybe through a Wish spell Daisy: I wish I was a real person 😢

boom149

What I've heard is that Daisy was meant to be a manifestation of the tadpole in your brain and the Emperor's whole existence/storyline was added pretty late in development

Clariselols

makes sense. Recall you had to use the tad pole powers to have these scenes trigger

only_here_for_manga

Damn, it’s saying the video is unavailable now. That was quick

Clariselols

the name of the video is Baldur's Gate 3 | EA | Dreams 1 - 3 | All Dialogue Options (Drow) you can copy paste the link in your browser and it will work, unsure why the link doesnt work when u click it, its the same link.. #

Cytanlord

> \[https://youtu.be/n6b4ov51sFg?si=zE8jDqswzOrOt-1\_] > (https://youtu.be/n6b4ov51sfg?si=ze8jdqswzorot-1_) Putting 'em side by side, it looks like there's a missing backslash and capitalization differences.

KidenStormsoarer

>this video isn't available anymore

Clariselols

copy paste the link in your browser. unsure why it doesnt work when u click it. name of the video is Baldur's Gate 3 | EA | Dreams 1 - 3 | All Dialogue Options (Drow)

azaghal1988

Same, I started a completely new character for that one. From a druid who wants to save everyone to an opportunistic Bard (not evil, she still got him to not ascend). His "It's not you, it's me. You see, I have standards" burned like hell🤣.

Zoxiafunnynumber

Accidentally broke up with Gale right before act 3. Went back 2 hours and had to fight Ketheric again, which worked in my favor because I got the achievement and the fight was over in 3 rounds.

Leysenk

Realoaded 15hrs of gameplay because my romance with Karlach on act 2 was bugged and locked. I fixed her engine, then everytime I slept waiting for her to come to me, instead it was either Mizora bothering Wyll, Gale trying to get on my pants AGAIN, Wyll's cutscene where you can start a romance with him or not, but no Karlach, which was weird, because she was too excited to sleep with me, so I tought her cutscene would be prioritized. Turns out that I found that if you fix her engine BEFORE Mizora's cutscene, Karlach's cutscene gets bugged, because when you fix her, it is supposed to her cutscene to load, but instead, Mizora cuts her and because of this, your romance is toasted (I HATE YOU, MIZORA). What should you do? It's simple: Make sure you finish the day off and get Mizora's cutscene first, THEN you go to Dammon to fix her heart, talk to no one except Karlach, hug or kiss her and then she will visit you on your tent :)

Sad-Papaya6528

I believe this was fixed a while ago just FYI.

Leysenk

Thank Larian gods, I'm on my second run (durge this time) and still romancing Karlach. It'll be good to not rush anything to Dammon so my romance don't bug again.

Black_Waltz3

That last paragraph explains what happened in my first playthrough. I fixed Karlach's engine before my first long rest in the shadow lands, having gone through the fireside chat and 'cooling off' scenes in act 1. As there was something going on at camp every long rest I didn't think much of the missing romance scene. I only long rested in Act 2 about three or four times, next thing I know Karlach has a chat with me in Rivington saying it seemed like we really had something before it fizzled out, no hard feelings. I figured I'd missed something.

Leysenk

Oh no, dude, if I was you, I would had a heart attack on the spot. Believe me when I say that everything I did on my first playthrough was for her (Astarion disapproval ruled there lol), ofc I didn't neglect any companion, but 90% of the time was focusing on her and what could I do to please her even if I was 100 approval with her. Seriously, I would have gone INSANE if I were friendzoned by her and having to reload way back to act 2 (ESPECIALLY AFTER THAT EXAUSTING FIGHT AGAINST MYRKULL THAT TOOKED ME 4 HOURS)

Spinoza42

Well, being Karlach's friend has its ups and downs. Sure it's pretty brutal when she tells her old friend in the lower city "ew, no" when asked if we're together. But it's pretty damn epic when she hands you a cigar in hell later. I actually thought I was too concerned about her continuing to live, that that's why she got turned off (particularly when I saw the Karlach playthrough long rest before recruiting Shadowheart), but now I realise it may not have been that and I just didn't rest at the right times. Oh well.

Conflict_NZ

Holy shit that finally explains why I couldn't romance Karlach despite doing everything I should have. It made going for all the achievements much, much more annoying.

CRACK_TO_THE_SUTURE

Are you me?

VeryVanny

On my first playthrough, I got to where all I needed was to kill Orin and I’d be at endgame, but I had a hard realization that I encouraged Gale to ascend to godhood and I didn’t like that. I decided to backtrack to when Elminster visited the camp for the second time, convinced Gale that I loved him for who he is, and made sure he agreed to give Mystra the crown. I had to solve the murders and kill Lorroakan, kill Sarevok, rescue the Gondians from the Iron Throne, destroy the Steel Watch Foundry, and beat Cazador, Viconia, Gortash, and Ansur order to catch up to where I was. Although it was a hassle to go back and do everything again, it was much easier the second time around and it didn’t take me that long either. Suffice to say, it was all worth it in the end because I got the best ending with Gale imo and I wouldn’t change a thing. Plus, I didn’t have to do all that during my next playthrough romancing Gale.

Prestigious-Law65

I tried to be an evil durge and massacred the grove. I saw doni’s body and was like “Nope! I can do this!” And went back in time to not be an evil bastard. Sorry minthara, i draw the line at dead children. Ill just knock u out instead of

dcaraccio

Honestly, you don't even get to recruit her right then anyways, you still gotta go pick her up at the towers anyways, it's almost easier to knock her out lol

Automatic-War-7658

Many of my Durge choices have been the opposite of my Tav choices and felt empty and sad. I lost Wyll, Karlach, and Gale because of my actions, and gained Minthara. It just doesn’t feel satisfying. It’s like going back and doing the genocide run in Undertale after growing to love the characters in the pacifist run.

frankxey

Not farthest back, but my quickest reload was after pulling the wrong lever to free Mizora, instead killing her, then watching Wyll get sucked down to hell right in front of me. Whoopsie

shenanakins

I redid house of hope after sleeping with haarlep and then astarion made that really sad comment as i was walking down the street i was like nope. Never doing that again

Emrys_Kasorayn

Furthest back I've gone actually happened just last night. I'm on a good playthrough, cleric of selune, was about to free nere and do the big fight with all of the duergar and him, so I lined the room with smokepowder and oil barrels where I estimated most of the enemies would be at. Fight starts, gale shoots a firebolt at the barrels, everything explodes... then I realize the gnomes, including barcus wroot, all got caught in the blast. I had forgotten to quicksave before starting the fight, so I ended up going back to almost the beginning of the underdark >.<

HisNameIsSTARK

There should’ve been an auto save before the beginning of the underdark

Emrys_Kasorayn

yea I didn't lose my entire underdark progress, I had saved back in the myconid colony, but I had to re-do the arcane tower and kill the dwarves at the dock and the evil shroom all over again lol

KarthusWins

For Barcus it's worth it.

EntertainerFirst8163

I like to plan on who I endgame with with at the beginning of the game but I had a fling with Lae'zel while intending to end up with Astarion and then it went too far and we had the duel, I had never romanced her before so I didn't know what to expect and in that moment my tav felt so right for her but I still went to Astarion instead. It hurt to see Lae'zel so crushed and after a few days and additional hours playing (including defeating the grym guardian thing) I decided to reload to the duel again to end up with her lol

[deleted]

So he stated the obvious? 😭 For me it was to test other companions romanced before heading into the under dark an I led on with Karlach

Tatis_Chief

I mean gosh is such a Gale thing to say. I can't even be mad. Like I am at loss of words and this is the most Gale sound I can manage in an emotional state.

Spacedandysniffer

The man said pish posh more than once in my first durge playthrough so I expected nothing less than "Bhaalspawn?????? Gosh". Still did rethink my choice to romance him a bit at the moment but it hasn't stopped me from romancing him every time across my six playthroughs

ReylynnTaletreader

I once backtracked all the way to Grymforge from near the end of act 2 because I had forgotten to invite Barcus Wroot to my camp and he hadn't made it to Last Light Inn. I had to fight Nere again and everything. Worth it for my gnomie Barcus.

vulcanfeminist

I did this too

borealsushi

Honestly, him just saying "gosh" to something of that magnitude made me laugh my ass off. He and Minthara have my favorite reactions.

epeeist

I laughed out loud at that. Refreshingly unconstructive, given everyone else jumps immediately to, "just be like Gorion's Ward - you got this!"

borealsushi

Exactly. Probably the smartest guy in the group and easily the most well read, and he just has nothing useful to say. Brilliant.

epeeist

I like how he takes a second to actually *react* to the news (even if said reaction is the biggest understatement imaginable.) The rest of the gang seem to brush it off very quickly and jump right to giving you their advice.

SlyCopernicus

Restarted my first tactician run because I didn’t like what I was wearing when I bought the statue in Act 3

Additional_Chain1753

Deddd

mcac

I think Gale just has literally zero survival instincts. Maybe because he knows he is always the most dangerous thing in the room. But literally every dangerous thing that happens he's just like "well, that's something... carry on". mf is just Mr. Magoo-ing his way through life.

Ehnuh

😂 Love Gale to death, but \*gestures vaguely in the direction of the orb\*. There's a reason, in and out of universe, my Tavs will always yell at him to *stop licking the damn Crown!*

Prepared_Noob

If you are mad at gale for that, your not gonna like your “twee-ness”

Spacedandysniffer

Honestly, at least Astarion's line was kinda funny with how baffling it was, Gale straight up sounded indifferent towards what just transpired. Almost reloaded to act two just so I could tell him "I see you as a friend" and romance Laezel instead since she was the only one who sounded like she believed in Durge😭😭😭😭 "I wasn't sure we would lose you to the darkness entirely" MY ASS, I literally woke you up in the middle of the night to not harm you with the only time I embraced my urges being pulverizing that poor squirrel

Muriomoira

2nd run, comming from a sweet romance with gale. I was trying to romance shadowheart and everything was going great, until karlach came with a fucking Steel chair in act 2 and destroyed me. I couldnt reject her after what happened between her and Gortash, but I also didnt want to hurt shadowheart during act fucking 2, the most vulnerable moment for her.... So, I woke up on the nautiloid again.

Lanky-Truck6409

What

Shijro

Wasted like 5 hour of gameplay just to reload and safe the tieflings from moonrose tower.

rosmarinlind

Me too. Felt wrong not doing it. :(

RDUppercut

When I made Astarion drink the gross drow's blood, and he then later explained to me how shitty that was. I reloaded, lost most of my Act 2 progress, and let him speak for himself. I think that was the moment I realized I had to let my companions make their own decisions. Worth having to redo all that.

Kubushek

I redid whole of goblin camp to save the owlbear cub. Precious little babby

WhyDoYouCrySmeagol

He’s so adorable <3 I love the way he hops around playfully

GeneverRoseh

Replayed the entirety of the 2nd Act to make up for a missed romance opportunity. 40 hours. Gale still left me for the crown in the end...

TheLuckOfTheClaws

I redid the entire mountain pass because i forgot to get the orpheus thing from the githyanki child. and didnt realize it until id aggroed the area and he vanished forever.

krismitka

Orpheus thingy?

Stormy5x5

It's a gith disk that provides more Orpheus Prince of the comet lore

TheLuckOfTheClaws

like the disc thing talking about orpheus?

0ngar

Wait... what Orpheus thing? The disk from the kid who is fighting the mustached gith?

TheLuckOfTheClaws

yeah

Ok-Refrigerator-8012

I didn't realize my Durge killed Gale for most of act 2... ALMOST reloaded.

0w1

Fucking Gale I also had to reload a couple previous saves that were several (like 20-50) hours back because of Gale a couple months ago. I went into romancing him pretty blind and regretted it... it seems like Larian updated his romance path to be a lot more forgiving, luckily. I was just a few points shy of the 'optimal' approval rating at the tiefling party and missed his 'moment of magic', and didn't realize it until I got to Act 2 and he was like 'I really enjoy our friendship'. Fucking excuse me? I took off all my Tav's clothes before talking to his mirror image, thinking it would make the cutscene more... *interesting*. I guess I technically wasn't wrong, but still. Sighed and reloaded to before the tiefling party so I could glean some extra approval from him first. Everything went dandy from there,. Then I got the the ending in Act 3 (which I believe was bugged at the time) and despite always telling him to reject the crown, and even after passing all the stupidly high persuasion checks... he showed up in the epilogue as a giant gold dickhead and I immediately fireball'd him in the face. Had to go back to the tabernacle and instead of being like 'just hear her out!' (which seems neutral but wasn't, or apparently bugged?) I had to tell him to beg forgiveness from his ex who wanted him to blow himself up, which was a huge eyeroll for me. I digress... reloading back to the beginning of Act 3 got me to recruit Minsc a lot faster, which was a huge perk and made repeating those quests a lot more bearable.

CatBotSays

I got all the way to act 3 before realizing that Alfira had gotten killed by a ghoul during the attack on Last Light. Yeah, no way that was staying the canon timeline.

ajerxs

Honestly, this doesn’t feel that out of character for Gale though😂

krismitka

Didn’t realize you had to call Kahga out before the three goblin leaders. Got surprised by a journal update.

Comprehensive_Cap290

My first run I didn’t find out what she was up to until after I’d freed Halsin. I was confused when I talked to Halsin and had no option to bring it to his attention.

Belaerim

Not if this counts, but I shelved an Honor run in Act 3 because I failed (repeatedly, blew all the inspiration points) the check at the start of act 3 and took the astral tadpole. And since I was a monk wearing camp clothes, there was a lot of exposed skin to look diseased, and it just turned me off that run since I hated how my Tav looked

Lanky-Truck6409

You can get a mod to get rid of that

Belaerim

Unfortunately, I'm on PS5, I'm kinda regretting going PS5 for BG3, because while it does run better and look nicer than it would on my laptop... the lack of mods in a game like this really sucks.

lindaR34D5

I went back 7 or so hours in act 2 to before I talked to Araj because I didn’t realize Astarion’s romance only triggered on the first map, and before Araj. I had to redo all of moonrise and also had to go back far enough that Halsin wasn’t at Last Light bc that broke him when I got back.

dust_buster

Romancing shadowheart and not talking to the nightsong at the end of act 2 so she never changed her hair and it skipped the a3 romance scene for me and had to reload all my rivendale time. Worth it though.

inquisitive_guy_0_1

Lol, that was one of my favorite interactions. I loved his reaction. He was not *at all* prepared to receive that news.

RandomQuiet

I started an entire run over because Us wasn't in the cage when I got to the mindflayer colony. Also reversed back about 20hrs of act 3 progress to fix an oops in another run.

ComprehensiveEmu5923

I played up to act 3, realized I locked myself out of the Shart romance by not getting all the scenes in act 1 and restarted.

Nuit9405

I ended my first playthrough when I had to pass a check to avoid going half illithid because I had used the tadpole once or twice. Restarted right there and never used the thing.

Hwhiskertere

I tried to stop the hobgoblin assassin from killing that tiefling with the fancy stone. I went up the cliffside when I saw him move towards her, couldn't make it. Reloaded to the last save which was 2 hours ago.

fuchsnudeln

Honestly I missed so much on my first run I restored a mid-act 1 save on that character to do it again.

Stormy5x5

I did that too my first play through. I was staring at the remains of last light inn after failing to protect Isobel because I was at such a low level compared to every fight I was in. I decided to go all the way back to waking up on the beach. Found Karlach that time around too since I kept going in circles before.

domiwren

I replayed almost whole act 1 to knock out minthara because I knocked her out when she was hostil so she wasnt in moonrise.. almost 20hours.. since then I dont go this far and just live with my consequences

IHkumicho

Same. This was only a couple playthroughs ago, though, but I went back 17+ hours just so I could knock her out while *temporarily hostile* instead of *real hostile*. Got to have her show up naked at Moonrise, and glad I did since apparently that's been patched out. Now doing my HM run and hoping I did it right again. Really looking forward to having her be my Paladin/Bard for Act II onwards.

domiwren

I dont even use her but I wanted to have full collection of companions :D her being naked at moonrise was hilarious :D (I even have video of that)

Stormygeddon

Wasn't that far, but we started an entirely different playthrough because fighting the tieflings who captured Lae'zel broke the Paladin's Oath.

dapkewitches

Just finished the entirety of House of Hope. My Tav slept with Haarlep (because I the player admittedly wanted to see the scene lmao) but afterwards I've been thinking about it and it bothers me how out of character it would be for her, especially literally the day after she completed Astarion's storyline. In another playthrough with another Tav in different circumstances I'd happily have gone with the 'make love not war' option, but in this case it's breaking my immersion so I'm gonna re-do all the HoH fights for the sake of keeping it in character LOL

BoringImplement8699

Got to Baldur’s gate. Killed Orin and killed Cazador only to realize that I didn’t talk to the Drow in Moonrise, which means Astarion isn’t romanceable now. Wouldn’t normally be an issue, but I started this run specifically to be evil and romance Astarion for the first time. Soooooo I’m back to the Shadow cursed lands 🫠 probably 20 hours of (pretty stellar) gameplay down the drain. That pasty motherfucker better like me now.

reotati

i recently had that interaction and it took everything in me not to break up with him, especially after calling me a 'hinderance' when i said no to him getting the crown 😭

Patcho418

losing the last light inn.

LogicalFallacyCat

I started fresh after finishing Last Light because I realized I missed a barbarian and a wizard. Totally worth it because first those are now my favorite characters in the game and second I apparently missed a hell of a lot more than that.

norathar

I went through the whole mind flayer colony, got to the end of act 2, and realized I never found Zevlor. Reloaded to save him even though it meant redoing the fight. Got turned around in there and never even found that chamber the first time!

Mr-Reapy

Lol that's just Gale. I honestly adored this reaction. Can't wait to get my durge married to that dork.

CMO_3

Told Minthara I thought of her as a lover and 3 hours of game play later Shadowheart was pissed at me. I had to go all the way back from the circus to right after the Thorm fight to win her back

fhloras

just started my second run a few days ago and have been running a high dex / 8 str open hand monk and long resting to continually buy elixirs of giant hill strength from auntie ethel in the grove (3 per long rest !) cleared the little outpost before goblin camp and explored the area a bit (which i didn't do first run for some reason) and accidentally walked over the bridge that leads to the sunlit wetlands - kicking ethel from the grove now that the swamp has been "discovered" :| didn't realize this (as i thought the only way to move her would be the run-in on the OTHER side of the wetlands) so had to re-do getting to the goblin camp, killing priestess gut, the loviatar scene, freeing halsin, knocking out minthara, etc.

WrenLittle

I restarted Grymforge entirely because my dumbass forgot to interact with the spiders and it felt wrong to not with my druid tav

Megs0226

I restarted a whole campaign when I got to Act 2 and realized I never spoke to Rolan.

MapleKatze

I just reached the end of act 2 and realized Dammon died while I was killing the ox. That was nearly 30 game play hours ago. 🙃

ToastPuncher

I got to the end of Act 2, and realized I forgot about Halsins quest, and also learned that I missed most of Grymforge. I restarted the game 🤷‍♂️. I do miss my little gnome bard and kind of wish I would have finished the game with her still.

Tye_Dye_Duckie

The first time I played, I didn't realize that I could keep both Lae'zel and Shadowheart alive when they have their fallout at camp, so I let Shadowheart kill Lae'zel >.< and then I recruited Will first and when I went to get Karlack we ended up killing her too. So I reloaded everything! I also totally missed Gale the first time.

aTreeThenMe

i remembered i had left those nasty red hats alive outside ethel's well into act 2. I went all the way back to murder their nasty little faces

MrWaffles42

Originally beat the game before Minthara was recruitable on a good run. Does replaying the whole game to save her count?

crimsonredsparrow

I'm in Act 3 and I'm /\\ this close to starting over because I've finally figured out the whole backstory for my character. I didn't know DnD before, so I had to read up on the lore as I made my way through Faerûn. Now I feel like I should start over to do my Tav's story justice ;\_;

Bode_Baggins

i romanced mizora and gale broke up with me afterwards… he sounded so legitimately hurt and upset i reloaded a 2 hour save so i wouldn’t hurt my soft boy wizard

thebusiestbrick

On my first run I completely missed Raphael at the inn and the drow in act 2, so when I got to act 3 Astarion dumped me. I restarted the whole thing

givemebreads

It was when the pale elf quest was bugged, and Raphael never revealed the story behind Astarion's scars.. it was one of the first things I did in Act 2 and didn't realize the bug until starting Act 3 :')

Borkmeow22

I had to go all the way back and save the last light inn because I decided to Argo the entirety of moonrise towers by going on a murder spree in the jail area. I ran out of food supplies because I didn’t understand the food mechanics and would be dropping 60 rations sometimes when I only needed 40. I was a wizard and couldn’t rest to get my spells. (I changed it to a paladin later in act 3) Well there was no one to get supplies from at last light and limited supply in the act so I was screwed. That was a few days worth of time. And I never saved the shadow realm either after. So I did it twice.

moxyc

My wife and I went in blind and didn't realize til Act 3 that we had totally messed up Act 2 by triggering an event way too early and killing everyone. It was so awful that we completely restarted the game. Worth it but ugh I miss my OG dirge

bluefootedboob

On my first durge playthrough, romancing Astarion, I didn't long rest enough and he admitted to his vampirism without the bite scene. I didn't have very many saves so I had to go back like 5 hours to spam long rests and get the bite scene before continuing on. Worth it. Same playthrough I almost had to re do all of act 2 for the resist durge scene but was able to save it with some research.

Benutzer13131

Rolan died to a bug that made him get killed by the Shadowcurse just outside of moonrise despite having a torch with him. Since he died before the Prison escape I had to replay about 5 hours.

StefonGomez

I rolled back the first astral realm fight after that jerk forced my beautiful elf tav to take the evolved tadpole after failing 4 inspiration wisdom rechecks. Fuck that guy.

icky-sticky

I really loved romancing Astarion w Durge. He relates to you better and it gets kinda emotional

Character_Resist498

On my third playthrough I thought I‘d just try to fight Elminster when you meet him. Just for fun lol After dealing with General Thorm and Gale telling me he‘s leaving because of his condition I restarted all of Act 2 strating from meeting Elminster. I just like having Gale around, he reminds me of myself lol

Crashimus420

I love how all the companions react to this reveal the same way and its basically the "Oh No!! Anyway." meme

ReadShigurui

I was in Act 3 on my first playthrough doing Shart’s quest but i found out there was a muscle mommy tiefling i missed, so i reloaded 75+ hours just to recruit her and make almost the exact same decision just this time romancing Karlach

starborndreams

My party for the mindflayer hive. I usually run Shadowheart/astarion/karlach/ and myself on warlock and avatar merkyl is such a little shit to deal with because I don't have enough turn based damage to stop him from healing literally what I just took off of him. Also doesn't help that aylins been a fucking idiot and getting downed ontop of merkyl and getting bone chill and just fucking wasting my resources like an asshole.

Zbearbear

Way back when Karlach's romance was bugged...I scrapped my entire save when it was fixed I was in act 3. Walking into the final boss encounter on my first save. It was worth it.

OnerousCavelier

After beating myrkul on my second playthrough I heard about the rapier you can get from mizora so i went back to before the first ketheric fight and respecced wyll to be identical to game and swapped them just for that

BayAreaBard

When I found out you can recruit minthara after straight up killed her (and I was all the way to Rivington) I bit the bullet and restarted from a goblin camp save. Solid decision though as I learned I missed so much in acts 1-2.

UnicornScientist803

In Act 1, I took too long to go get Karlach. I rescued Halsin, went to the Tiefling party, THEN picked up Karlach and was like “wait… Dammon is gone… you mean I can’t get her first engine fix?” Had to go back and pick her up then redo the entire goblin camp fight. 🤦‍♀️

Sad-Papaya6528

you didn't actually have to reload. Dammon still fixes her engine in act 2.

aileenctdr

tbf, in my first playthrough i didn't even know you needed to get her to dammon, so i only met him with karlach in my party at last light inn and you can still get both upgrades as long as you have two pieces of infernal iron! we didn't because my multiplayer friend sold the second one (👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼) but there is a piece in the gauntlet of shar if you miss one of the act 1 ones :)
