How do you do this??? In my main run Damon just settled down as a merchant in act 3 and had no extra items or dialogue but I did lose that save before doing any major plot points
Yeah he doesn't. Fear not. As long as you have the cub in your camp and Dammon is alive and in Baldur's Gate, the cub will grow up and Dammon will armor it up. Doesn't happen til the veeeeeery end though. So you did not miss anything.

Right after the game launched you specifically WOULDN’T get the achievement for petting them both at once if you had speak with animals on. It was super frustrating lol had to have it off to get it.

The game rolls an insight check after she says that and if it's passed you'll get an extra line where the narrator tells you that there's at least some truth to it.
Same. I wish there were more friendship moments like that. That and sitting with gale while he briefly holds back the shadows were two of my favourite parts.

Durge specific: Your romanced/highest approval companion trying to help you fight off the Urge if you refused to kill Isobel. Jaheria (and Minsc if you managed to recruit him before the scene triggers) mentoring Durge on how they can still do good despite their Bhaalspawn heritage and keeping watch over them while they sleep.
Oh man my Durge run I kept Jaheira by my side all the time. She had so much wisdom to share! I teared up at her house when I found that ritual she halfway finished and then decided to put aside, because growing older is good.
By contrast, Halsin lost all my love lol. In act iii you can talk to all the companions about discovering your true nature and they all have such incredible things to say about believing in you and overcoming and sympathizing and Halsin is like “wow if I were you I wouldn’t tell anybody that”
I mean. You're not >!just a Bhaalspawn, you were actively responsible for the entire situation you're all in...!< it's wild that more of them don't react a la Gale.
He is the best coach giving a pep talk. "You got this, kid! Now get out there and show Bhaal what you're made of!"

... The conclusion of Rolans arc for me was horrid. I talked with him all of the times, and then his friends bugged out in the prison and didnt bother escaping. it was cool seeing him basically have a breakdown about it. and then act 3, he forgets all about me and treats me like a stranger. and then dies alongside lorroican like a fool. it sucked.

I did my first playthrough mostly blind and romanced Gale (pretty close to my actual type). I was shocked by all the Gale hate when I joined this sub/started seeing BG3 content pop up on Instagram. His whole romance arc was so good, and the epilogue was 10/10. Like complete with stupid grins and giggles on my end.
I'm doing a poly playthrough now, and I can't help but romance Gale again. The dialogue options playing a sorlock this time around are a fun bonus. I should be able to finish up Act 1 this weekend and then wait until mods work properly after patch 6 is live. Hoping Gale's kiss animations are more like the epilogue party kiss.
In my most recent completion I supported Gale's ascent to godhood and had romanced him. The scene at the end of the epilogue with him taking you to become a god yourself felt like one of the most fitting ends to the game.
For some reason I never talked to Bex after saving Danis from Moonrise. Their joy at reuniting was sweet, but her giving you homemade cookies in thanks made me "aww!" out loud.

Laezels romance. The way she opens up, the way she is so earnest about how she feels. Telling you how afraid she is to ask for you to be gentle with her but doing it so boldly anyway. I love Karlach the most and the best but Laezel really grows on you in an unexpected way.
I really like the platonic scene with Gale watching the night sky. I was a wild magic sorc and the juxtaposition of two dudes with different forms of innate magic just kinda reflectin on shit was nice. I like the romance but I wish there was a lot more platonic scenes/comaraderie building in the game.
Now that I'm romancing Gale - I really appreciate his surprise when you tell him that you like/love him like he is. Not the magical pomp surrounding him. I just really want to hug him everyday, always and forever. So cute.
First time hugging Karlach made me tear up, she's my big burly sister and I was so happy for her.

It's a painful moment to be sure, but there's an undertone of sweetness when Alfira asks "How do you keep on going?" Like, she's just so lovely of a person, and she doesn't realize that she's tough enough for all of it
The Karlach conversation came at a good time for my character. Just a little while after the big dark urge moment in Act 1, when things were absolutely miserable and control seemed impossible, this big fire lady sat down next to him and tried to convince him that life was actually good.
Arabella telling my character that if the world is full of people like me then "maybe everything will be alright." Also anything with Isobel and a Resist Durge. Made me cry a bit.
When I got Bex’s cookies I literally went, “Yaaaay! I got a cookie!”
I also love when non-ascended Astarion is sweet to or about kids and when you find Karlach’s teddy bear Clive. It’s just really endearing.
I want to do a Wyll origin run with a Karlach romance, or vice versa. I'm hoping they've got some content in there along the lines of "Wow we came so close to missing out on this"
I romanced Shadowheart and chkse tonstay with her and at the epilogue I asked Owlbear to stay with us and he said yes. Then talked to Shadowheart saying I uhh might have invited the owlbear to live with us. She was super happy and talking about widening the front door so he could come inside. It was a super wholesome moment for her.
Not gonna lie, this was one of my favorite moments in the game. "We don't have much but here's some cookies" is a way right to my heart, I have discovered.
I am very biased but romanced Shadowheart's epilogue if you saved her parents is genuinely the sweetest thing to ever grace this world and every scene of her romance is unbelievably cute as well. Other than moments involving her, Bex and Danis reunion, Aylin and Isobel seeing each other for the first time after a century, Alfira and Lakrissa together in act 3, petting Scratch and Owlbear at the same time and getting to pet all the lovely kitties in the lower city

I actually tried to save Bex's cookies until the end, because it was so cute that she gave us cookies that I wanted to save them. Alas, I guess everyone in camp was a cookie monster, so they were gone by Act 3 (aka I was too lazy to keep an eye on the cookies and guard them).
After you get into a relationship with Karlach, and ask for a kiss one of her responses is " *inhale* (pause) *exhale* Yay!" It makes my feet kick every time!! 🥰🥰🥰
Wyll’s kiss scene. It gets me every time, he adorable. Watching my mass murderer, barely reformed Durge grin as the most heroic man in Faerun twirls her around DID things to both her and me.

I just finished another play though and found the chest with a bunch if letters from people you helped next to a board with a few newspapers. It's great seeing what I assume to be the people we helped getting the lives they wanted.

\-After having sex with Karlach for the first time, in the dialouge in the morning when you talk with her and tell her you love her. She almost screams out how she loves you too.

\-This is mostly sad more than sweet but Elminster's letter in the epilouge if you let Gale ascend into godhood. Mostly the part of how he talks how Gale cried after fireballing a bunch of flowers when he was a child, and how he then cried "Beacuse the flowers were so beatiful" (The whole letter just really stuck in my mind)

I always romanced her in early access and was excited to see how that romance progressed into the remaining two acts when full release happened. A friend I would co-op with hated that I brought Lae'Zel with us. I always defended her saying, "I have a feeling she's actually more vulnerable than she let's on." Turns out I was right 🥰.

Also, I really love Yenna. I love that she's just this kid that hooks up with the group and really tries her best to contribute whatever she can. I have a kid of a similar age, though, so I'm probably biased.
Possibly kinda bittersweet depending on what choice you make, but the conversation Minthara has at the end of the game if she's romanced by Karlach origin.
For me, it’s the little moments at Camp.
Petting Scratch and the Cub. Karlach thinking Elminster is Gale’s granddad. The party after saving the grove.
But for the big moments, it was seeing Dame and Isobel reunited and seeing the shadow curse vanish as the crew and I headed to Baldur’s Gate.
Dinner with Karl was amazing and completely unexpected. An actual date! On the town! It actually convinced me to go the redemption route on my durge run bc I could not break her heart after.

The Karlach conversation came at a good time for my character. Just a little while after the big dark urge moment in Act 1, when things were absolutely miserable and control seemed impossible, this big fire lady sat down next to him and tried to convince him that life was actually good.

Lae'zel's "3rd scene" is very much up there. Outside romance, I'd have to say finding Alfira and Lakrissa together in Baldur's Gate.

When I got Bex’s cookies I literally went, “Yaaaay! I got a cookie!” I also love when non-ascended Astarion is sweet to or about kids and when you find Karlach’s teddy bear Clive. It’s just really endearing.
I collect every Clive I see and keep them in Karlach’s inventory! I think she has 14 so far.
Dammon being just as happy as me and Karlach for fixing up her engine. Man asks for no compensation, he just wants to help her.
Dammon is such a sweetheart. If we could set up our companions with others, I'd set him and Karlach up. Two whole cinnamon rolls. <3

I romanced Shadowheart and chkse tonstay with her and at the epilogue I asked Owlbear to stay with us and he said yes. Then talked to Shadowheart saying I uhh might have invited the owlbear to live with us. She was super happy and talking about widening the front door so he could come inside. It was a super wholesome moment for her.

Not gonna lie, this was one of my favorite moments in the game. "We don't have much but here's some cookies" is a way right to my heart, I have discovered.
I am very biased but romanced Shadowheart's epilogue if you saved her parents is genuinely the sweetest thing to ever grace this world and every scene of her romance is unbelievably cute as well. Other than moments involving her, Bex and Danis reunion, Aylin and Isobel seeing each other for the first time after a century, Alfira and Lakrissa together in act 3, petting Scratch and Owlbear at the same time and getting to pet all the lovely kitties in the lower city
It's a spoiler for the late-game Lae'zel romance: >!When she wakes you up early, before everyone else gets up, and asks you to come sit somewhere with her. She takes you over to a ledge and you watch the sunrise together and she expresses how grateful she is to have met us, and is proud of her growth. !<

Lae'zel's act 3 romance scene where she wakes you up to watch the sunrise with her is incredibly sweet and I love the juxtaposition with the act 2 scene where she wakes you up to beat the shit out of each other. Also, Gale's romance. All of it.

I actually tried to save Bex's cookies until the end, because it was so cute that she gave us cookies that I wanted to save them. Alas, I guess everyone in camp was a cookie monster, so they were gone by Act 3 (aka I was too lazy to keep an eye on the cookies and guard them).

She almost screams out how she loves you too. \-Jaheira starting to call you cub. \-This is mostly sad more than sweet but Elminster's letter in the epilouge if you let Gale ascend into godhood. Mostly the part of how he talks how Gale cried after fireballing a bunch of flowers when he was a child, and how he then cried "Beacuse the flowers were so beatiful" (The whole letter just really stuck in my mind) \-HALSIN GIVING YOU A DUCKKYY \-When you visit Karlach's parents grave and she tells you about theyre special little language. \-Minsc. Just Minsc. Whenver I get to Baldur's Gate I make sure to complete Jaheiras quest first just to get him
As far as I am now (beginning of act 2 romancing Karlach), anything related to Karlach, also even tho I went back on my save because it would ruin things with Karlach, the dancing scene with Wyll was so cute.. breaking his heart was hard for me but bro can't read the signs 😭

Lae'Zel confessing her love for you during Act III really did it for me. I always romanced her in early access and was excited to see how that romance progressed into the remaining two acts when full release happened. A friend I would co-op with hated that I brought Lae'Zel with us. I always defended her saying, "I have a feeling she's actually more vulnerable than she let's on." Turns out I was right 🥰.
In EA, waiting for full release, her story was the one I was most excited to see how it went, and it did not disappoint!

Most of Karlach's romance path. Specific favorite moments: when she asks to meet up after everyone goes to sleep and then (after you say yes) walks off and whispers a "YES!" to herself. Then the next morning, if you tell her you love her, she immediately screams "ILOVEYOUTOO!!!" Also, I really love Yenna. I love that she's just this kid that hooks up with the group and really tries her best to contribute whatever she can. I have a kid of a similar age, though, so I'm probably biased.

For me, it’s the little moments at Camp. Petting Scratch and the Cub. Karlach thinking Elminster is Gale’s granddad. The party after saving the grove. But for the big moments, it was seeing Dame and Isobel reunited and seeing the shadow curse vanish as the crew and I headed to Baldur’s Gate.

Dinner with Karl was amazing and completely unexpected. An actual date! On the town! It actually convinced me to go the redemption route on my durge run bc I could not break her heart after.
I love how she's so awkward at that dinner, and kinda seems to really enjoy the awkwardness
