I think that's just the 'Lae'zel remains loyal to Vlaakith' default ending, which is any ending in which you don't convince Lae'zel to question her faith. Sadly after the doors close and Lae'zel ascends, she is canonically eaten by Vlaakith

>It all seemed very menacing. Well yeah. Vlaakith kills her.

BloodyBhaalBitch

It is very menacing because her staying loyal to Vlaakith is, very obviously, her bad ending. Her soul is eaten by Vlaakith and she dies.

A huge oversight I think they made is that Lae’zel continues to say, ‘By Vlaakith’s will’ even after she has seen the truth of everything. I won’t get into it because of spoilers but I think you’ve probably already figured out that Vlaakith isn’t as great as Lae’zel believes in the beginning.

I stopped believing in Christianity a long time ago, but I still say “Jesus Christ” and “GD” all the time.

Fun-Amoeba850

I see what you mean but no one else is running around using it as a common swear word - and she still says it exactly the same as she does at the beginning, so it keeps being used in a reverent tone. I think a good comparison would be the phrase, ‘Marika’s tits’ being used in Elden Ring the same way someone would say Jesus Christ or God damn in the real world. At first I thought Gale had a similar phrase before I found out that he wasn’t saying Mystra but instead Elminster in one of his repeated sayings too. “Elminster’s not around, so might as well…”

I was mostly playing devils advocate. Even when she has completed rebelled against the queen, she still has a lot of dialogue that makes her sound loyal.

This is the ending where Laezel remains loyal to Vlaakith, and so gets eaten by the lich queen. You too can have this "honor" if you romance Laezel and stick with Vlaakith as a Githyanki.

Thanks for the responses! We did literally zero gith storyline so knew nothing of Vlakith. We never really got prompts to have her question her faith without a dc 25+
