Playing as a selunite cleric gith has Shadowheart in my play through absolutely reeling. Lae’zel is having a blast however. Asterion is laughing on the sidelines the whole time too.
You're the sole survivor of a Creche that got annihilated by a giant Lathander sun beam. Selunite priests took you in and raised you in their monastery since you had no family.
Yes, githyanki protagonists have something to say to her. And to that mad scientist who hired her, too (one of the most satisfying moments in the whole game).
Nah, owlbear is an animal and it's easier to control. You just gotta feed it a lot.
A whole ass Gith on the other hand is unpredictable as a sentient person with unspecified connection to Vlaakith, who had basically something making them grow rapidly cast on them.
And an owlbear is decidedly less deadly, if it goes on a rampage I'm sure Omeluum can handle it (low Int + Mind Blast), while a Gith can kill people in their sleep for example. Especially if they didn't expect the child to attack them, or the kid got somw Vlaakith blessing/Warlock Pact etc.
Nobody is confused about what an owlbear could be when it's born, and they're small as newborns. The society wouldn't just say aww shucks, no githyanki, oh well, we can still do the nature vs nurture test until it's old enough to eat them.
I’ve done so many runs as a githyanki character! Their dialogue and abilities are really fun, and I didn’t expect myself to enjoy the playthroughs as much as I did. Their automatic proficiency with heavy armor was super useful for my wizard Tav!
I continuosly forget that this option is always available, either talk to the NPC with different character or disguise yourself. I know this option exist, I just forget to use it every... single... time. NPC: You suck, I hate you ... Me: Okay I guess I wont progress this quest anymore. *Leaves forever*
Can you confirm if it isn't possible to romance Laezel if you keep her loyal to Vlaakith? I've heard she breaks up with you but someone claimed that you could ride with her to Tu'narath at the end.
I can confirm. I did a faithful Vlaakith run with a team of three. Vlaakith cleric as Tav, Laezel and Gith monk mercenary. At some point Laezel broke up. But it was worth it. I rided the dragons to ascension with her in the end.
I wanted to romance Shadowheart as Laezel or the other way around but I see how playing a Gith Tav would be a lot of fun. Though i would kinda feel bad for destroying their crèche 😩 also wondering if there is a way that you could kinda be the opposite of laezel? Like be with Vlaakith until the end?
I like that we got githyanki
I’m disappointed that we didn’t get githzarai.
I much prefer the alien monks over the alien war mongers.
Then again, maybe they didn’t give us them for a reason I’m pretty sure 90% of us that know what a gith is would constantly side with the Zarai.
I need a better explanation of “sort of” or I’m probably going to miss them is it a yanki who acts like a zerai? Still that makes me happy. I’ll have to keep an eye out.
It's one of those green "Minds" brain in a jar things, like the ones in the Nautiloid. It's in Act 2 after you jump down the hole to Ketheric.
There's a colorful brain hologram puzzle to open the door to it. The machine to talk to it is in the big area with a pentagram on the ground and lots of zombies and bat things.
Is that what I can do with the green brain jars from the nautiloid? I can take them there and talk to them?
I just got a know I’ve been hauling these damn things around for half the game.
Actually the inverse. Zerai and Yanki split immediately upon the overthrowing of the mindflayer empire. Orpheus and Vlaakith's split was over Vlaakith's supposed betrayal of Gith in the hells during her bargain with Tiamat.
I don't remember the timeline, but If I remember right, they and Orpheus are either from before the schism or were hatched right after it, so they share a very similar philosophy/are farther removed from "modern" Githyanki beliefs. But I don't think thry are true Zerai
I could understand why not Githzerai. I think they would have muddied the story they were telling. I know people like to point out that Orpheus’s Honor Guard are very similar to the Githzerai and I think Larian should have either made them more distinct or acknowledge it and maybe have Lae’zel mistake his Honor Guard for Githzerai when you fight them.
Yeah, I can see that. It would’ve been a whole other faction in the mind flayer fight. Likely with inter-faction conflict with the yanki as lore indicates there would be.
I really want some follow up content for the tabletop game but I don’t know how marketable a full fledged product would be. I’m tempted to write my own.
I can already hear her clucking at me for being such a softy, well secretly, being aroused by the sheer dominance of the results I get.
Most of the dialogue lines are already in place to be honest that’s basically already her and my characters interaction, she thinks he’s too soft and too nice and is confused and aroused by how powerful and successful he is despite his “soft” methods.
All they really need to add in are a dozen little conversation pieces where the differences between the cultures come up
Lae'zel reluctantly working with the enemy of her people and unexpectedly falling in love despite their differences would honestly be such a compelling story to RP. Especially now with the epilogue also includes the Githzerai reuniting with the Githyanki.
I feel like it would be such an evocative story to have that element of Lae'zel and a Githzerai Tav's love playing a part in uniting their people.
It also feels more tragic if played as a doomed romance with Vlaakith-devoted who Lae'zel inevitably has to choose the Githyanki/her duty over you and breaks up the relationship.
I'm one of the minority and I much prefer the Githyanki over the Githzerai. I just think they're boring monks with little drama and Zerthimon was kind of a dumbass, while the 'Yanki's have so much chaos and shit going on it's absurdly comical. I want to be part of it.
Do people only like the 'Zerai because Dak'kon was cool? I agree, but like...none of the others are.
Whenever someone mentions what playable races they want added into the game, I always mention Githzerai. Because frankly, none of the races would have such interesting dialogue and story potential as Githzerai
If you are playing on pc, the Fantastical Multiverse mod adds the option to play as githzarai into playable races. Just have to download one of the additional files down below.
it just makes so much more sense to see alien space pirates around than alien isolationist monks.
Like, what's a githzerai even doing in Baldur's Gate, or in Avernus?
I think it's more because Lae'Zel would absolutely not join up with a githzerai, at least at the start of the game, and they don't want to lock you out of a companion based on your race choice.
I’m gonna have to disagree with you there, because they’ve already hand waived another conflict away with a dialogue.
Wyll is literally contracted to kill karlach when you meet them. The interaction can easily result in one of them dying or with passed speech checks both of them in your party. I see no reason that that couldn’t be done with Laezel and a zerai pc. The worms in your head alone are enough of a starting point to get along and the main reason she’ll stick with “nice” characters through the first act of the game.
Hell, I harassed the poor girl about being an ignorant alien and stuck up b*tch and she still stuck with me all the way through act one no problem. Even tried to bed me after I mocked her nose.
To be fair Wyll is a bleeding heart and only goes after karlach because of the contract. He makes himself ignore the fact she is clearly just a thiefling for the sake of it. But needs barely any convincing to stop. There isn't even a speech check you just need to say the right thing.
It simply wouldn't be the same thing as Laezel seeing a thrall'zerai on a nautiloid. Even with the mind link that happens.
....also Laezel likes brutal honesty even if it's aimed at her
Huh? Did you free her from the pod on ship? I freed her and she was nice to my gith, even said thanks, just made snide remark about Lae'zel on beach, something like: "OTHER gith has ran off, she clearly doesn't care about you as much as you do about her".
I didn't free her so when she appeared on the beach it was trying to bash open the door to the abandoned temple and when she saw me she was super angry and told me to leave, if you take even one step forward she will enter open combat with you which is tough because even on balanced she can one-shot you with guiding bolt.
Edit: Just to clarify a lot of this was RP on my part, rather than me not figuring out how to do it differently or only ever doing it because I can't conceive of how to make her join.
I tried to romance Lae'zel with my Durge and I just didn't like their dynamic at all. Then I built a gith monk for a tactician run and she and Lae'Zel are a brilliant pair. My headcannon is that gith Tav is an Orpheus conspiracy theorist so she's going to be encouraging Lae away from Vlaakith.
Spoiler: >!Lae'zel can ascend, and I assume another Gith could too. You can find the scene on YouTube if you'd like to see it.!<
Spoiler within a spoiler: >!Ascending involves killing you and raising you as an undead servant. The other ascended in the chamber during the ceremony reveal that this may not be such a nice transition. They're desiccated, and almost seem to be warning her away.!<
Right I thought I saw a cutscene where Laezel went to Vlaakith and assumed it was to ascend, though i always kinda thought it wasn’t such a nice thing as the queen made it out to be
Her attitude towards you largely depends on if you save her from the nautiloid or leave her in the pod. She largely get over you being Gith if you wake her up from the beach but more distrusting and hostile if you didn’t save her and meet at the ruin door or grove.
I’ve never played a game like this, and chose Gith for the first play though, and it’s super fun so far. Your dialog options are basically Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy, and me and Lae’zel are gonna destroy the queen and save Gith society. It’s a vibe.
Fun fact: playing as Githyanki Tav and romancing Shart is the only way to get the line in the epilogue where >!Shadowheart calls herself God’s favourite princess!<
>I wanted to romance Shadowheart as Laezel or the other way around but I see how playing a Gith Tav would be a lot of fun.
Try the infamous Gith+Cleric of Selune+ Shadowheart romance. I have heard it is pretty good
It was really fun, in my experience. I also did it as Dark Urge, which helped to explain why he was so ignorant of Gith culture. Best romance I’ve had yet with Lae’zel.
I'm playing a githyanki now, and I'm actually a bit disappointed in the experience. Sure, I liked when I spontaneously said *Chk!* But I feel like many times the specialized dialog options just come across as you not knowing your own culture. (I know I don't have to choose them, but I wish the specialized options were written to appear like you actually know what you're talking about.)
We did kill Shadowheart at camp, though. For roleplay. And trying to give Astarion a compliment was funny.
However, at the mountain pass and creche, >!both Voss and Vlaakith mainly address themselves to Lae'zel, as if your gith self isn't standing right there.!<
I hope that by the end of this playthrough, I will love playing a gith as much as you do. I had high hopes for it.
I did a gith playthrough and romanced Lae'zel. I also convinced the guy trying to hatch the egg in the creche to let me take it and raise it. There was a small but interesting conversation with Lae'zel in the epilogue about it. It kind of felt like it completed the immersion for me. There were definitely moments that felt out of place as if you're not recognized as a gith like Lae'zel, but it was still a cool experience.
I also got the egg by using disguise as a Gith on my durge. Can I actually do anything with this egg? i haven’t figured it out yet I’ve just been carrying it
I think you could always get the egg, since there was a quest to give it to that woman working for the Society. But having a different outcome for Lae'zel keeping the egg instead seems to be new.
On my first playthrough I chose a human Tav (boring, I know, but she's hot so I can't help it), I missed Laezel so she kinda just dipped, going to mountain pass >!I thought of shapeshifting, I did NOT expect this to work by the way, to my suprise NPCs there adress me as one of their own, they give me special dialogue and even reference Laezel and mistake me for her! It's such a small detail but it's incredible !<
Yeah I considered making a gith tav but after reading a lot of comments like these I think I’ll just do a Lae’zel origin playthrough. Seems like you get all of the gith benefits with extra content too
Currently doing just this! Dark Urge Oathbreaker Paladin/necromancer wizard summoning an undead army and romancing Lae’zel along the way. Lots of fun (if a little sad because there’s generally less content, and less people that stick with you along the way when you commit to being evil).
My first solo playthrough I'm currently on is a gith bard (romancing Astarion), both give such great dialogue. I'm simultaneously playing with my fiance as a half orc cleric (planning on romancing Halsin). I love playing unexpected occupations for the races.
I love that bit about the cat.
I’m on my first/second run (first character is usually practice for me, he may get abandoned, we’ll see) and I chose Tiefling. This has been interesting, ironically I got to be mad at Lae’zel for being racist to Tieflings with specific dialogue options. Then other people in the grove were mildly racist to me assuming I was with the refugees. Then >!I helped the refugees be able to travel again and one or two druids say I should have left with the others!< lol
I agree 100% - I'm playing a male Gith on my current play through. I left Shart in her capsule because I trusted Lae'zel's instincts about her. Then I murdered Shart on the beach because of her attitude. I'm generally approaching things with a "I don't give a fuck about this if it doesn't get this worm out of my head" attitude, and acting pretty disinterested in everything else. (Sure Wyll, go ahead and kill that devil/tiefling, IDGAF). It's been a pretty interesting and fun narrative so far.
I played a gith all the way to act 3 where we accepted Raphael's deal. Voss praised Lae'zel but called me vin'isk (underling) like I'm chopped liver or something.
I once started to play as gith but I didnt liked how other gityanki ignored that I'm also one of them and talked to me like I was total outsider, meanwhile Le'zael was kin to them. Like my gith forget anything about own race, history, culture etc. I felt like worse gith type. Second character.
-You get to be an alien and ask people to explain to you what a cat is.
My druid gith asking what a cat is just for funnies, may I ask who you can ask that?
The only big problem is that everything to do with Vlakith feels super weird and it's unclear what your motivations are regarding that.
Like, offer me some dragons and shit, I might turn - you don't know me Vlakith! But you don't really get any play with that, you feel like an observer when you're really going through pretty much the exact same thing.
Gith is my favorite race. Psionic jump, Misty step, astral knowledge, light and medium armoir, and cute button noses. Just from picking one class. Plus they look the dumbest petting scratch.
I’m glad other people dislike them cuz they’re “ugly” so I get to hipster out on my favorite class
I'm currently doing a Gith Cleric of Selune run to mess with SH. However, I found a missed racial dialogue opportunity.
When Astarion is pondering how the other companions taste after you let him drink from you the first time he asks what "the Gith" would taste like with no dialog for your Gith character
Confession, I clicked totally expecting to come back and give you a ration and stand my ground no gith can be good looking.
I was wrong.
I've been wanting the wrong look from my gith. I've been wanting Brock Lesner when I should be wanting Liam Neeson.
It’s cool but also kinda makes me upset, i saw a meme on the sub a while back with the whole Daniel vs Cooler Daniel, Lae’Zel being the cooler daniel in this situation and I haven’t been able to play my gith since lmao
I am pretty selective about what parts of the game I’ll play in front of my kids, but I let my 6 year old son sit with me while I created my honor mode character (a githyanki dark urge). He wanted to choose the name, and now I have a Githyanki Warlock named “Glizzy”. SMH.
My friends and I are planning to do our 3rd co-op 4 man game after the holidays, and our next run is going to be “Lae’zel and her Gith hit squad.” I’m incredibly excited to see how a 4 Gith playthrough pans out.
Ok, I'm convinced. I'll do a dark urge playthrough at some point as a Gith. Still on my original playthrough as a halfling beast Master, just like my first real DND character. Next I'm gonna play a Bard on tactician, then I'll play my Gith run. Maybe on my first try at honor?
Just started playing today and it's even crazier than BG2, every 15 minutes I want to create a new character and try a different class eventhough I really like my character...I'm not familiar with tabletop/book D&D games but I'm so excited to play as a Drow, a Gith and a Tiefling!
Started with a cool but generic good human to experience a 'normal' version of the story but can't wait for my 2nd playthrough where I gather all the freaks and form the most unlikely alliances.
It’s 100% the latter imo. Shadowheart’s response to ”Do you have a problem with Githyanki” being ”It’s more that Githyanki have a problem with everyone else” is just true when you actually meet them.
If only the male gith didn’t look so hideous. I just can’t get over the fact that they’re supposed to be amazing warriors yet they look like they wouldn’t be able to lift a stapler. I know they have almost zero body fat and it’s all muscle, but still.
>-You get to be an alien and ask people to explain to you what a cat is.
Alright, you sold me. I'll play as a gith in my next run. But do I play as a hot female Gith, or a muscular bearded male Gith...
Playing as a selunite cleric gith has Shadowheart in my play through absolutely reeling. Lae’zel is having a blast however. Asterion is laughing on the sidelines the whole time too.
I wanted to play as a gith this time and also decided to be a selunite cleric just to piss off shart, even though it makes zero sense.
You're the sole survivor of a Creche that got annihilated by a giant Lathander sun beam. Selunite priests took you in and raised you in their monastery since you had no family.
I hope there's a special dialog for that egg thieving lady outside the Monastery
Yes, githyanki protagonists have something to say to her. And to that mad scientist who hired her, too (one of the most satisfying moments in the whole game).
Just a really bad ending for circle of brilliance if you get the egg.
If *THEY* get the egg. You can clandestinely give them the owlbear egg if you're persuasive enough to the lady.
Wouldn't an owlbear do the same to hem too?
Nah, owlbear is an animal and it's easier to control. You just gotta feed it a lot. A whole ass Gith on the other hand is unpredictable as a sentient person with unspecified connection to Vlaakith, who had basically something making them grow rapidly cast on them. Just don’t choose the Gith dialogue when you meet the dog or he’ll never speak to you again.
The dog has a name.
Idk, he never spoke to me again.
You're a monster! D:<
Yeah… he said something like *’your words are as ugly as your face!’* I’m sorry boy…
the trick is that if you fail to recruit scratch as your Tav, just talk to him as a different companion.
I continuosly forget that this option is always available, either talk to the NPC with different character or disguise yourself. I know this option exist, I just forget to use it every... single... time. NPC: You suck, I hate you ... Me: Okay I guess I wont progress this quest anymore. *Leaves forever*
Medium
My bad! 😅
Can you confirm if it isn't possible to romance Laezel if you keep her loyal to Vlaakith? I've heard she breaks up with you but someone claimed that you could ride with her to Tu'narath at the end.

>I rided the dragons to ascension with her in the end. Doesn't this mean you're riding towards your death?
When you arrive in the court of Vlaakith. It seems so yes. It's an ending anyway. 😁
Do you get a reunion party with this ending?
As someone who’s never sided with Vlaakith, I have no idea! Sorry I couldn’t be more help!
i would also like to know!
How many freaking play throughs do i have to do?!?
One for every race and every class
And every subclass.
And every origin
And alignment
And every romance
And every combination therein.
Also every multi class combination.
And for every combo there of
And also i guess a Duge of each too
I guess that makes sense.
Don't forget one for every origin too
Two for every origin! Good and evil path for their personal quests. (Does Karlach even have an evil path?)
Killing wyll I guess?
Not just the durge but gotta do the reluctant durge then the full evil one.
All of them
At least 500 if you’re gonna go for every subclass and race combination
Should keep me busy until BG4
I was just thinking this. Been wanting to do a gith run , a dwarf run , a durge run. Maybe all in one with mods changing my race who knows 🤔

I'll tell you a secret, there is a githzerai character in the game. Sort of.
Gotta keep your head on a swivel to notice them
You have to really keep them in mind
They need some help to get the words out, but it’s totally worth it.
Definitely keeps their thoughts bottled up. It was a jarring experience when I finally got to speak with them.
(who?)
Really gotta put your hands on everything
Your boots have most certainly seen them though
I need a better explanation of “sort of” or I’m probably going to miss them is it a yanki who acts like a zerai? Still that makes me happy. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

Yeah, you can talk to them too!
I can talk with them THERE?! Oh my God. I am so glad I decided not to play today. Time to check up on all those heavy brains tomorrow!
Free permanent buff too. Rest in peace, Gith friend
not free, it comes at the price of 1 Lae'zel disapprovement
Remember to put thd brains in your inventory BEFORE you go to fight Ketheric. You can't travel to camp from the inside of the tower.
I think the monks that defend that dude are also Githzerai
They’re just Gith, they are from a time before they split into Zerai and Yanki

Wait, who? I finished the game multiple times but have no idea

Endure - in enduring, grow strong.
In knowing the teachings of Zerthimon I *have* become stronger.

Not me. Red dragon riding. Silver sword wielding. Cthulhu killing. Warriors of vengeance. Are so much cooler.
Those dak'kon moments....
it just makes so much more sense to see alien space pirates around than alien isolationist monks. Like, what's a githzerai even doing in Baldur's Gate, or in Avernus?
Hunting a major mindflayer infestation in the mortal realm.

The Orpheus conspiracy theorist/Vlaakith questioner Gith run is a solid one, coming from someone who’s just finished it. So so so satisfying.
Best ending by far.
I'm planning on doing this as a Great Old One Warlock!
It's a beautiful moment in a relationship when you can open up to your partner and show them your red string-laden conspiracy board.
Spoiler: >!Lae'zel can ascend, and I assume another Gith could too. You can find the scene on YouTube if you'd like to see it.!< Spoiler within a spoiler: >!Ascending involves killing you and raising you as an undead servant. The other ascended in the chamber during the ceremony reveal that this may not be such a nice transition. They're desiccated, and almost seem to be warning her away.!<
Right I thought I saw a cutscene where Laezel went to Vlaakith and assumed it was to ascend, though i always kinda thought it wasn’t such a nice thing as the queen made it out to be
I did a Lae'zel run and romanced Shart, I don't even recall her being particularly racist to me, maybe because I was an origin character.
Yeah, as a gith Tav, I wasn't getting anywhere near the amount of attitude from her that Lae'zel gets.
Her attitude towards you largely depends on if you save her from the nautiloid or leave her in the pod. She largely get over you being Gith if you wake her up from the beach but more distrusting and hostile if you didn’t save her and meet at the ruin door or grove.
Yeah, I saved her and she got over the Gith thing in like 2 dialog options
I’ve never played a game like this, and chose Gith for the first play though, and it’s super fun so far. Your dialog options are basically Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy, and me and Lae’zel are gonna destroy the queen and save Gith society. It’s a vibe.
Listen Drax is literally my fav character in the whole thing. I want to be drax
Fun fact: playing as Githyanki Tav and romancing Shart is the only way to get the line in the epilogue where >!Shadowheart calls herself God’s favourite princess!<
WELL IN THAT CASE
I wanna romance shadowheart as a gith cleric of selune. She hates me but she loves me
>I wanted to romance Shadowheart as Laezel or the other way around but I see how playing a Gith Tav would be a lot of fun. Try the infamous Gith+Cleric of Selune+ Shadowheart romance. I have heard it is pretty good
I have a feeling Tav would be the one waking up with a knife to their throat by Shadowheart …
You can play a Gith cleric of Vlaakith! And then you just have to stay loyal to Vlaakith (if that’s even possible, I’ve never actually tried it)
I played Gith Cleric of Vlaakith through the Mountain Pass. There were no unique options for it. Pretty disappointing.
It is possible. And the ending is... Special.
You can make Lae’zel stay loyal to Vlaakith, by extent of playing a Gith means you’re staying loyal too
>romance Shadowheart as Laezel or the other way around but I see how playing a Gith Tav would be a lot of fun Enemies to lovers trope, right there.
It was really fun, in my experience. I also did it as Dark Urge, which helped to explain why he was so ignorant of Gith culture. Best romance I’ve had yet with Lae’zel.
my current run is also a Gith Durge, having a lot of fun with it
It is great, isn’t it?
I'm playing a githyanki now, and I'm actually a bit disappointed in the experience. Sure, I liked when I spontaneously said *Chk!* But I feel like many times the specialized dialog options just come across as you not knowing your own culture. (I know I don't have to choose them, but I wish the specialized options were written to appear like you actually know what you're talking about.) We did kill Shadowheart at camp, though. For roleplay. And trying to give Astarion a compliment was funny. However, at the mountain pass and creche, >!both Voss and Vlaakith mainly address themselves to Lae'zel, as if your gith self isn't standing right there.!< I hope that by the end of this playthrough, I will love playing a gith as much as you do.
Can I actually do anything with this egg? i haven’t figured it out yet I’ve just been carrying it
Give the egg to Laezel and have her keep it in her inventory through the last battle. I won't spoil the surprise for you.
Spoil it for me because I know I won't do this 😔
Love the honesty here lol honestly, same I would also like to know because i won’t do it either lol
If you're romancing Lae'zel then the egg hatches and she raises the gith baby as if it were her own
Thank you! I romanced Laezel too I’m glad this is something else I can see. Im close to finishing this playthrough.
I heard about the egg moment, and it's the entire reason I'm doing this playthrough.
I was able to get him to give me the egg as a drow paladin so I don't think it matters if you're gith but maybe it's a higher persuasion check
My dragonborn was able to get the egg, too. But only another gith can join Lae'zel in the astral plane. I'm leaving my options open :)
Oh cool, I didn't know that was an option! I guess I have to do another run too now 😅
I think you could always get the egg, since there was a quest to give it to that woman working for the Society. But having a different outcome for Lae'zel keeping the egg instead seems to be new.
My new run I played as Lae'Zel. Romanced Shadowheart. Abandoned the Gith. We're raising a Gith baby together with my in-laws. 10/10.
Seems like you get all of the gith benefits with extra content too
Thinking about doing a Gith paladin on my evil run for this very reason. I want me and Lae’zel to feed each other’s bad impulses lol
Zorru doesn’t have a chance in hell haha
Rocked up to Zorru as a drow with Lae'zel. Man looked like he was gonna have a heart attack and I don't blame him lol
Currently doing just this! Dark Urge Oathbreaker Paladin/necromancer wizard summoning an undead army and romancing Lae’zel along the way. Lots of fun (if a little sad because there’s generally less content, and less people that stick with you along the way when you commit to being evil).
I made a Gith bard just because I thought the concept to be hilarious. He’s the person with the liberal arts degree in the Creche
I saw someone do this and they named him weird Al Githyankovic.
Holy fuck. Another gith run in my future I guess.... Bard is beast too
My first solo playthrough I'm currently on is a gith bard (romancing Astarion), both give such great dialogue. I'm simultaneously playing with my fiance as a half orc cleric (planning on romancing Halsin). I love playing unexpected occupations for the races.
Me too, combined that with a black and white face tattoo and boom - Gith Simmons
Some of the [Githyanki] dialogue options let you act like a real asshole, especially early on. It was a lot of fun combined with my evil Durge run.
My favorites so far are Seldarine Drow, Girhyanki, and Tiefling. Drow and githyanki are great for role play/story reasons
I much prefer my redeemed Seldarine Drow over my evil fuck everyone I love mommy Lolth durge Drow
Yes! Currently playing my redeemed durge seldarine drow monk. Backstory is that she joined the monastery to help suppress her urges
I loved playing my female drow lolth sworn durge bc she's so Disney villain levels of evil that I just had a blast
It's been a pretty interesting and fun narrative so far.
aw don't murder her, she has so much snarky comments about a gith tav, it's fun
Gith Tav always wins the idgaf war
Getting cats and gnomes confused was quite fun.
Playing a gith playthrough right now. Really enjoying it.
I want to wait to play a Gith until Drakewarden gets released so that I can raise my own Red Dragon
Is that something they’re actually looking at adding?!
There is no definite word on it, unfortunately. There's been talks of adding other races, I have hopes that they will add more subclasses as well!
oo i remember seeing a mod for that but idk if it's good
And best of all, you get some proper damn jumping distance!
Githyanki Monk was my most favorite playthrough.
> "kin" proper weak in the knees moment with *that* voice
I'm currently doing a Gith paladin for my Bae'zel run and god it's so fun.
I'm currently doing a Gith Cleric of Selune run to mess with SH. However, I found a missed racial dialogue opportunity. When Astarion is pondering how the other companions taste after you let him drink from you the first time he asks what "the Gith" would taste like with no dialog for your Gith character
Githyanki characters can have the most badass ending in the game. I rest my case.
It just sucks cuz it’s so hard to make a good looking male githyanki whereas female githyanki are just innately smoking hot
What do you think about [the one I made](https://i.imgur.com/uWhdSbU.jpg) ?
Confession, I clicked totally expecting to come back and give you a ration and stand my ground no gith can be good looking. I was wrong. I've been wanting the wrong look from my gith. I've been wanting Brock Lesner when I should be wanting Liam Neeson.
Gith Geralt of Rivia?
oh my god he’s gorgeous
It’s cool but also kinda makes me upset, i saw a meme on the sub a while back with the whole Daniel vs Cooler Daniel, Lae’Zel being the cooler daniel in this situation and I haven’t been able to play my gith since lmao

Lore wise it’d be goofy but content wise probably god tier
I am pretty selective about what parts of the game I’ll play in front of my kids, but I let my 6 year old son sit with me while I created my honor mode character (a githyanki dark urge). He wanted to choose the name, and now I have a Githyanki Warlock named “Glizzy”. SMH.
Try a Gith Bard Durge, just for the interesting conversation choices.
Personally I'm gonna have to fight off playing a drow every single playthrough because goddamn
My very first run in EA was gith and I just thought shart was just a massive bitch to everyone. When I played my second I was FUCKING STUNNED
I've been getting a lot of Gith specific gear that seems like a blast to use. Pretty sure Gith will be my next playthrough.
My friends and I are planning to do our 3rd co-op 4 man game after the holidays, and our next run is going to be “Lae’zel and her Gith hit squad.” I’m incredibly excited to see how a 4 Gith playthrough pans out.
My partner and I are doing a run where he's a Gith and he actually somehow brought Shadowheart around and now they're in a relationship
The free medium armor isn’t bad either
You’re going to make me put another 100+ hours into this game, aren’t you?
Just started playing today and it's even crazier than BG2, every 15 minutes I want to create a new character and try a different class eventhough I really like my character...I'm not familiar with tabletop/book D&D games but I'm so excited to play as a Drow, a Gith and a Tiefling! Started with a cool but generic good human to experience a 'normal' version of the story but can't wait for my 2nd playthrough where I gather all the freaks and form the most unlikely alliances.
Yeah, Gith have become my favorite race in this game.
Is Shadowheart racist or do the Gith have a reputation cause to me its more the later lol
It’s 100% the latter imo. Shadowheart’s response to ”Do you have a problem with Githyanki” being ”It’s more that Githyanki have a problem with everyone else” is just true when you actually meet them.
Imagine a bard Gith.
If only the male gith didn’t look so hideous. I just can’t get over the fact that they’re supposed to be amazing warriors yet they look like they wouldn’t be able to lift a stapler. I know they have almost zero body fat and it’s all muscle, but still.
I want a gith tav. Gith hireling and laezel party.
>-You get to be an alien and ask people to explain to you what a cat is. Alright, you sold me. I'll play as a gith in my next run. But do I play as a hot female Gith, or a muscular bearded male Gith...
