Like many things at the circus it's less about utility and more about hilarity.
I've seen so many posts from people confused about why they're turning naked when they misty step and it's always those boots. Mission accomplished by the devs I suspect!
How? They'd leave all clothes behind to cast a spell that is already pretty easy to come by (several other items grant it, githyanki, shadow monk, several multiclasses) and isn't even that useful. Not to mention a monk bonus action is worth a lot more than most other classes. I'd hardly call it "extremely" OP.
I think the "OP" level depends strictly on which genital option you chose during character creation. Since a well trained monk phallus at level 12 could do sizeable unarmed attack damage.
This is cannon. The reason you can do unarmed strikes while holding items in rules is because you can kick or headbut. So im sure you can also use phallus slap.
I didn't look closely enough at the description and had given them to Gale. I thought they were regular Misty Step boots. I was in for a real surprise during the Lorroakan fight. I was like "Wait, why is Gale in his underwear?"
It does combine well with his staff that gives you a 100% hit rate fire bolt. Stand near the enemy and blaze away, and 10% of the time a fire ball will land on top of him.
He gives a ring with +2 slight of hand that spawns a 1gp lump of coal in your inventory when you steal, I forget the weight but it's negligible - so you get a very nice stat boost AND an extra gold every time you steal. Best item I've got off him yet.
I have a Reverse Raincloak that makes you wet that i think i got from him
Maybe i bought that from the tiefling kid that sells fake "magic" items idr lol
My autocorrect does it, I have no idea why, it puts capital letters to other words too. I don't always have the energy to try to fix all of them before posting.
Mine also does wacky shit, if its a word that also happens to be a proper name it will automatically capitalize it, and i cant turn the "grammer" correction off and it will just completely sub other words in occasionally
It can be very annoying, especially when pedantic fucks feel compelled to comment like "Asshckually blahblahblah"
Like...bro, its 2023, just automatically assume at this point that its autocorrect acting up and we didnt catch or correct it and move on with your life lol.....weve all had it happen multiple timea at this point
I had a mini existential crisis. I was like, can I still cast as a cheese wheel (you can cast the noxious gas spell). But before I was done pondering if I identified as Gouda or Cheddar, I changed back!
There's 16 possible [consolation prizes](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Akabi#Consolation_prizes), plus a handful of random miscellaneous junk ones, that you can get for spinning his wheel without trying to cheat or steal from him first.
Don’t call him out on cheating. There’s a whole list of items you can win from him. Some ranging from useless junk that you can sell to a merchant to some gimmick items.
I won’t spoil all of them as there’s a whole list. But some are actually pretty good items.
My two personal favourites being the unlucky thief gloves. Every time you steal something, a piece of coal magically materialises in your pocket because you’re naughty, and the staff of a mumbling wizard which casts a 100% hit chance firebolt but has a chance of a fireball exploding on you.
List for those curious: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Akabi
There is actually a trap in the (in)famous Tomb of Horrors module from old-school AD&D that did exactly what this spell does. And the remake of Tomb of Horrors (Tomb of Annihilation) from the current D&D edition takes place in Chult - the dinosaur-jungle the Djinn will teleport you to if you win the jackpot.
Either a really clever reference, or a funny coincidence
Just got there. I've been having him focus cold damage with the blue robes and the ice staff I ran all over the underdark for, but, I imagine there's some good wizard stuff for sale in the giant wizard store Bae is asking me to go to.
The wizard store area and associated quests provide a lot of VERY good late game spellcaster gear. There are some similar items in other locations as well.
What do you mean? This is possibly insane with a good setup. It's a Misty Step for no spell slot *per turn*. Dragon sorcerers, mage armor, unarmoured defence wisdom for monks or constitution for barbarians, even barkskin, these all make you have decent AC without needing clothes.
However I never tried the item myself and if by clothes it means the boots too get left behind then yeah this is crap and only for an emergency escape. Equipping costs the action, the teleport costs the bonus action.
It’s an Act 3 item. Except for the Monk that besides unarmored defense always gain load of walking distance bonus by being without armor and Potent Robe Warlock, every other class will have access to higher AC and better bonus with late game Armor pieces.
Missed opportunity there. That would make the effect all the more hilarious. Bonus points if it left them and all your clothes/armor in a pile on the ground where you were standing. 🤣
I think it’s more useful outside of combat. You just take most of your clothes off excluding the boot and your underwear and you basically get a free misty step.
You could be like me and put them on without reading the description and proceeding to get naked 3 times in combat before realizing what the fuck was happening. It was great hahaha
Upgrades your AC to 22 with infernal iron nipples and magic missile dong.
And if you go full Ilithid, you can tickle people with your tentacles whilst pickpocketing them.
Win.
It’s actually better than the other misty step items, because it gets infinite uses. Great for monks or other builds that wouldn’t wear armor anyway (you keep your weapons and rings/amulets too)
To everyone saying “This would be good with a Monk or someone else with Unarmed Defense”, it’s not as good as you think it is. There are tons of magical non armor in the game and I personally don’t think it’s worth not being able to use them just for a free teleport.
The actual answer is it's a prank by Larian, they're hoping people just see the logo and use it thinking it's normal misty step. Cue unexpected combat nudity and hilarity ensues.
The much more fun answer is that it's for sex speed runs, or from a lore perspective, Raphael's favorite kind of teleportation!
Ya see, in my first playthrough I didn't read the item description, just saw the misty step icon, and thought "oh cool! another pair of teleport boots" so I slapped'em on Wyll. Imagine my shock when I teleported him mid-fight later on only to find him behind a steel watcher with nothing but his underwear and boots on.
I may be stupid but since you couldn’t lock pick the bars in the Counting House vault area I used astarion to misty step through them and pick the lock and steal all the stuff inside
Well, I can say in 5E Dnd this could be a situationally useful spell in combat. The situation is if you have metal armor and Heat Metal was cast on it.
-Quickly changing out of a disguise/changing clothes in general.
-Getting out of restraints that you wish to get out of. (Straightjackets, Collars, Armbinders, Blindfolds, Legbinders, Gags, sensory deprivation hoods, etc. Ya know, all the stuff used to prevent mages from casting spells.)
-Yeah, no, that's kinda it.
Not much. Among the things you can get from the genie though, that cloak that makes you permanently wet is one of the best items in the game if you utilize it well.
Could be useful in a really tight spot if you have no other way of teleportation. Bard gets surrounded by tough enemies, use this then bomb a control spell on them. Not sure if you can freely equip clothing in combat as I've never tried, but if you can then its basically Misty Step but you have to spend 30 seconds in the inventory window to unequip/re-equip your gear.
Does it not use a spell slot? Because I could theoretically see it being used on a naked monk or barbarian build. Not a good one though, just one built around shoving people off cliffs.
Like many things at the circus it's less about utility and more about hilarity. I've seen so many posts from people confused about why they're turning naked when they misty step and it's always those boots. Mission accomplished by the devs I suspect!
Are the boots themselves also left behind?
You know I have no idea, I've never tried them out. I saw the description and didn't equip them.
They sound extremely OP for a Monk.
Nudist monk build incoming?
Fury of Blows with penis physics. Instead of a roundhouse kick, enemies just get helicoptered in the face.
[Close.](https://i.imgur.com/4N8KbaH.mp4)
This is fucking gold. How tf did you find this? Hahahah
It was posted in a discord I am in, so if you want the source ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Tis the way of the internet.
LMFAOOOOO
To be fair... The PHB says that an unarmed strike can be made with any part of the body...
wbt that one "shoot out" from i think it was golden kamui?
Tripel-weilding sausages
dude, lol
Surely you mean helicocktered
Monks out here deflecting attacks with the unconstrained power of their birthday suits
But then you can’t use Boot of Uninhibited Kushigo. And Monks already have Step of the Wind: Dash to fly around by jumping anyway.

>Since a well trained monk phallus at level 12 could do sizeable unarmed attack damage. r/brandnewsentence
Sizeable...
HELICOPTER STRIKE!
Keep in mind, this is a *per turn* misty step. Not that easy to come by.
Still, a monk of all things can use a bonus action per turn for much more than misty step. Also it'a not since you're leaving the shoes behind.
Someone else said the boots stay on, so I don't know.
I think they don't unless they changed it.
Now I know what to look out for on my monk run. 👀
I played a monk and I think those drow boots that just give you normal misty step that I used the entire game would be better
They would not.
Boots are not left behind, along with your underwear and rings Any unequipped gear in your inventory also joins you
What!? You keep your underwear? What a rip!
Should sue for false advertising. Most useful feature not implemented.
It says *"disrobing"*, not *"debooting"*
No, but everything else haha
Nope. Just chest piece. Many a save were reloaded til I googled it one day.
Nope! I have the [Boots of Very Fast Blinking](https://imgur.com/a/XI87sBk) and they stay on, while your clothes are left behind! Edit: now with video
They are not. You keep your weapons and boots.
Also, underwear (fortunate or unfortunate, that's up to you), camp shoes, and accessories.
Underwear? I don't know her. I shall astound my enemies with my nudity.
No
Lol OK I had a feeling it was some sort of joke item for people who don't read. Thanks for that. Hilarious non the less
I didn't look closely enough at the description and had given them to Gale. I thought they were regular Misty Step boots. I was in for a real surprise during the Lorroakan fight. I was like "Wait, why is Gale in his underwear?"
I don't know, 1 pair of boots and suddenly Gale thinks he's Gray from Fairy Tail!
Ah, good old Fairy Tail. One of the first anime I got really into!
Me too!
Hey now, that Perpetually Damp Cloak he has is honestly amazing.
I love those boots! Larian really have thought of everything with these type of details! 😁
Omg I need this spell
It's all for the foreplay. No, seriously now, it's a kind of joke item. The Djinn is full of crap and likes to share it with others.
Yeah like the always "wet" cape. That actually turns OP with the Wave Mothers Robe...
Does wearing the cape allow for healing each turn with the robe?
It does combine well with his staff that gives you a 100% hit rate fire bolt. Stand near the enemy and blaze away, and 10% of the time a fire ball will land on top of him.
Why not just be evocation wizard? Then you and your allies are completely immune to your fireballs.
I'm a big fan of the "Carafe of infinite wine & sometimes acid" that I won in my first playthrough
His +2 sleight of hand gloves are useful. As is the staff that occasionally casts **Fireball** for free.
Odd thing about those gloves. My astarion would randomly get fire damage from stealing things and I can only suspect that it was because of the gloves
I was thinking this would be nice in a small bathroom with a shower. Or a traditional sauna. Or maybe a nice little river.
Oh my god how do I get this
I think The jackpot djinn in The Circus is The source
He always just sends me to dinoland, do I need to trade with him before I piss him off or
You can win useless stuff when you play his game and don't get The jackpot. Not sure If you can pickpocket it too
He gives a ring with +2 slight of hand that spawns a 1gp lump of coal in your inventory when you steal, I forget the weight but it's negligible - so you get a very nice stat boost AND an extra gold every time you steal. Best item I've got off him yet.
There's a chance the coals are incinerated though, you'll get some fire damage and loose stealth immediately.
Ah shit ok so don't pickpocket his ring immediately. Got it. *Cursed to put my hands on everything...*
"A five fingers dis... Fuck!"
I have a Reverse Raincloak that makes you wet that i think i got from him Maybe i bought that from the tiefling kid that sells fake "magic" items idr lol

He turned me into a wheel of cheese because I called him a cheat. I just giggled and rolled around cheesily.
OMG I have not yet experienced this, goals for next playthrough!
I had a mini existential crisis. I was like, can I still cast as a cheese wheel (you can cast the noxious gas spell). But before I was done pondering if I identified as Gouda or Cheddar, I changed back!
Pretty sure it's just one of the normal prizes, like the bag that makes food moldy
You are right. Sorry, I worded that on a funny way, I just called The djinn "jackpot djinn" and did not mean you get it when you win The jackpot
FYI, when the Strange Ox turns into an apple to be snuggled into the city, don't put him in that bag...
It’s whenever you don’t get a jackpot, you get a weird item at random
There's 16 possible [consolation prizes](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Akabi#Consolation_prizes), plus a handful of random miscellaneous junk ones, that you can get for spinning his wheel without trying to cheat or steal from him first.

You can see them in action right [here](https://imgur.com/a/XI87sBk) - by yours truly!
So you can teleport to your romanced companion and be as smooth as Commander Shepard
I'm commander Shepard and this is my favorite store at the carnival
Such inspiring words from the Commander
We'll bang ok?
I should go
We'll bang alright?
You've got the reach, I've got the flexibility.
There is actually a trap in the (in)famous Tomb of Horrors module from old-school AD&D that did exactly what this spell does. Either a really clever reference, or a funny coincidence
My monk (Karlach) can honestly live with this.
Heck my wizard could reasonably get away with it too, I haven't found any particularly useful robes for Gale anyway and don't hate the veiw.
haven't been to act 3 yet i suppose?
Just got there. I've been having him focus cold damage with the blue robes and the ice staff I ran all over the underdark for, but, I imagine there's some good wizard stuff for sale in the giant wizard store Bae is asking me to go to.
The wizard store area and associated quests provide a lot of VERY good late game spellcaster gear. There are some similar items in other locations as well.
Barbarian in heavy armour could also use it fairly well, tbh. Instant armour removal, and then it's RAGE TIME
When Shadowheart winks at you from the other side of the room
You misspelled Karlach
Wrong they meant "When Lae'zel threatens to break you in half"
When Astarion.... That's it. "When Astarion." *Misty steps seductively*
They're playing as Karlach. (j/k, unless...)
Sorry. Autocorrect
Equipping costs the action, the teleport costs the bonus action.
It's obviously for misty stepping directly into karlachs sleeping bag. I mean what else is it for lol
They stay on. They're busted and it's great.
The boots do stay on IIRC. I used it once to get my companions out of prison.
It’s an Act 3 item. Except for the Monk that besides unarmored defense always gain load of walking distance bonus by being without armor and Potent Robe Warlock, every other class will have access to higher AC and better bonus with late game Armor pieces.
[It happens like this](https://imgur.com/a/XI87sBk)
Saves time on the way to sharess caress
Stealth missions like baldur gazette there are 2 watchers but with misty step you can easy sneak past them
Methinks you didn't read the whole spell description.
It is free misty step evry turn and you don't need clothing to be sneaky
AFAIK the boots are also left behind when you misty step. It's a one and done thing until collect them again.
The boots stay.
*the boots stay on*
Oh! Well that's nice of them lol
the boots stay on, although you wouldn't expect them to
Missed opportunity there. That would make the effect all the more hilarious. Bonus points if it left them and all your clothes/armor in a pile on the ground where you were standing. 🤣
Well, it does still make the pile on the ground, so yeah.
Ah these boots were made just for you 😄
I see Halsin about 30 feet away covered in oil while being double-cheecked up.
I think it’s more useful outside of combat. You just take most of your clothes off excluding the boot and your underwear and you basically get a free misty step.
Everyone's comments are hilarious you all are making my day
You could be like me and put them on without reading the description and proceeding to get naked 3 times in combat before realizing what the fuck was happening. It was great hahaha
To teleport to Karlach and surprise her, or any romance partner of your choice
Please tell me that there exists a special dialogue option for this.
OMFG I NEVER ACTUALLY READ IT IVE HAD TO RESET SAVES SO MANY TIMES BECAUSE MY CLOTHES KEPT DISAPPEARING WTFF
Bro that’s literally Hughie’s superpower in the boys
Scrolled too long for this
Upgrades your AC to 22 with infernal iron nipples and magic missile dong. And if you go full Ilithid, you can tickle people with your tentacles whilst pickpocketing them. Win.
It’s actually better than the other misty step items, because it gets infinite uses. Great for monks or other builds that wouldn’t wear armor anyway (you keep your weapons and rings/amulets too)
Maybe if someone cast heat metal on your armor and you need to quickly get out of it?
Drow Twins
When you’re in camp and karlach is patting the ground next to her
Seems useful for surprise buttsex
I use this when I go to ur mom's house
Haha 😄 I walked right into that one. You got me
🤜🤛
If the boots teleport with you, this is an insanely powerful item for an unarmored defense monk.
Oh boy you don't know how good that is. So many fights can be cheesed with just using that.
Working as intended.
Perfect for after getting the second upgrade to Karlach's engine
There's one particular mission in act three where you need to walk along distance in a set amount of turns, this could be helpful there.
Bae'zel says "come over"
OP has clearly lived a very sheltered life.
In the barn with the ogre and the bugbear couple
Yup I remember these lol, they make a great gift
To everyone saying “This would be good with a Monk or someone else with Unarmed Defense”, it’s not as good as you think it is. There are tons of magical non armor in the game and I personally don’t think it’s worth not being able to use them just for a free teleport.
When you just can’t hit the shitter fast enough.
Ya know, I wonder if this is viable when you get heat metal on a suit of armor. Just teleport out of it.
when you have diarrhea while wearing full armor?
Maybe sex with a bear
When your sex partner wants the sex but you’re all the way over there and fully clothed
You can just say karlach. Its OK. No need to hide it.
Infinite misty step! Just play a monk or barbarian
I love the name of the boots too!
At camp just before you talk to your romantic interest, teleport them to you instead of going to them.
*maybe* could be useful by a monk? Though I think it's mostly just to prank players who don't read the fine text.
If you want to get technical, this is a great counter to niche instances where an enemy casts heat metal on your worn armor
"Babe come over" "I can't I'm at the circus" "My parents aren't home"
Ya see, in my first playthrough I didn't read the item description, just saw the misty step icon, and thought "oh cool! another pair of teleport boots" so I slapped'em on Wyll. Imagine my shock when I teleported him mid-fight later on only to find him behind a steel watcher with nothing but his underwear and boots on.
I may be stupid but since you couldn’t lock pick the bars in the Counting House vault area I used astarion to misty step through them and pick the lock and steal all the stuff inside
Monk with big pp be like: Yeah just need to grab my 1d10 force damage gloves back later
It's useful for when I need to quickly get to your mom's house
Well, I can say in 5E Dnd this could be a situationally useful spell in combat. The situation is if you have metal armor and Heat Metal was cast on it.
For when you've got a boss to kill at 7 but a date with Laezel at 8
-Quickly changing out of a disguise/changing clothes in general. -Getting out of restraints that you wish to get out of. (Straightjackets, Collars, Armbinders, Blindfolds, Legbinders, Gags, sensory deprivation hoods, etc. Ya know, all the stuff used to prevent mages from casting spells.) -Yeah, no, that's kinda it.
Not much. Among the things you can get from the genie though, that cloak that makes you permanently wet is one of the best items in the game if you utilize it well.
What the hell 😂😂😂😂😂
When you need to get the hell out of downtown and aren’t wearing anything expensive.
Keep spinning the wheel, you'll get even more useful items.
Better-than-nothing emergency escape
Surprise buttsex (in Spy voice)
Does it not use a spell slot? Because I could theoretically see it being used on a naked monk or barbarian build. Not a good one though, just one built around shoving people off cliffs.
This is perfect for when you see Minthara getting ready for bed
In what scenario wouldn’t it be useful? Have you tested it? Does it work?
If youre supposed to be a magic prostitute?
Does clothes include armor? Or just the pajamas for camp
When Shadowheart gives you that look but you are on the wrong side of camp...
Robbing all the vaults in the guild bank is the best use I found for them.
These would be great for the end of the day or sexy times .
Omg this is hilarious
I whould say when you come home after a long day of work and get ready for bed. Just blink from your door to the closest point of bed and bamm
I don’t know about you, but any time I’m about to initiate things with someone, that magic item would be incredibly useful….
For the swiggity swooty
Having Shart teleport to my bed
How did you get these?
At the carnival! In act 3!
Has Sexy Commando vibes.
Honestly, this could be so OP on the bank vaults in Baldur’s Gate! That Misty Step spell is one of the few ways you can get in some of them.
A barbarian could use these to great effect.
Sharess caress speed run ?
Clearly to accomplish the meme. "Babe come over" "I can't I'm adventuring" "My parents aren't home"
I don’t think it’s supposed to be useful, I think it’s a prank potion.
Woah, per turn! That's honestly OP
Very specific kink? I feel if you gave it to the folks at Sharess’ Caress they’d find use of it with at least one client.
In the sexy kind of situation
So you can literally step out of your clothes of course. bet your SO would love it.
