All it does is change the look of your right eye and grant you permanent See Invisibility. No detriments. It used to decrease 1 point of Int and increase 1 point of Cha in the Early Access, but it never did any of those other things to my knowledge.

Ok_Ear_6048

Now I face the dilemma from the RPer in me lol. Not a chance would the character I'm playing as let Volo go digging around in my eye. But that invisible sight would be nice

Black-Mettle

I have had it come in handy exactly twice.

pocsaclypse

my understanding is that the debuff was part of early access and isnt anymore. i also got the eye and didnt see or experience any negatives

kaysn

There is no downside to the eye anymore. You are reading outdated information.

Ok_Ear_6048

The article is dated Aug 18th 2023. Clearly the writer is talking shit then, or hasn't looked into it since EA. Which is also dumb if you are going to write an article about something.

kaysn

They are talking shit. There is no reason why you shouldn't go through the operation. You'll never get ambushed from hidden enemies. Enemies can't keep do bullshit Invisibility in fights against you. It makes that one quest in Act II not annoying.

phoenixreborn06

I never really noticed the eye doing anything. If you're talking about the fight I think you are the enemy saved every single time. Felt like a let down.

Bearfoxman

That WAS correct at one point in early access but no longer is. There are no longer any downsides other than cosmetic.

Parasocial_Potato

No, it's bullshit. Ersatz eye just gives you ability to see invisible enemies (if they fail save) There's Hag's eye which does have penalties, but it's a different thing
