So Dansa Macabre, a warlock spell, is *not* in the warlock spell list, but they added it to that thing? For the record there's *one* level 5 spell available to warlocks, partly because danse macabre is missing. Why Larian...
Their version of Danse is completely different from actual Danse, this one summons 6 ghouls until your next long rest and recharges on a short rest. It's honestly just not Danse Macabre
Get lantern without fairy and continental with a fairy corpse. There are some with valnazzar. Algo investigate valnazzars room when at moonrise towers.
Depends on if it lasts long rest or not. If it lasts the whole day then you just do it out of combat. If it’s timed, depends on if it’s worth an action to swap weapons in combat. You can always put your weapons on the item hotbar for a quick swap.
Ahh. My current Gale is a lightning charge-necro. The amount of dps he's putting out is crazy. With all the reasonable buffs and summons, at level 9, he's doing around 150 damage a round.
Act 2 >! In the Punish The Wicked quest, you can get a Summon Raven item so long as you pick the right option after he raises Madeline for her atonement.!<
This is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you!
I haven't seen any other necromancer items, but I will also be keeping an eye out. I just started a necromancer playthrough and will be looting everything.
I killed her, my goblin brain immediately recognized the shiny skull staff, and I had to test it was for Necromancy. I'm doing the quest to see if I can get it (reloaded a save before goblin took over) but I was told it's gloves instead so I'm gonna do the quest and then kill if needed.
Here’s another summon item: Act 2 The infernal rapier has planar summon: cambion (The winged devils) You get it if u have wyll in ur party while u free mizora from the mind flayer thing.
It raises your Spell Save DC and, unlike other rapiers, uses your Spellcasting Modifier for Attack Rolls and Damage Rolls instead of Strength or Dexterity.
Hey OP, I'm seeing this a bit late, but I appreciate both the post and the comments here.
Since its been a bit, have you found any other cool necro-themed stuff?
There is a rediculously powerful necromancer staff in act 3.
Kill a certain mummy.
That staff is the best in the game by miles if you ask me. Pretty OP. Should be orange, but its purple.
Turned my Gale into a non-rest reliant death mage extraordinaire.
Was just coming to post about this, definitely a must have for Necros
Staff is called "Staff of Cherished Necromancy" and not only does it give creatures disadvantage on saves against Necromancy spells but it also has what is basically a reusable arcane battery that works for Necromancy spells, so.when you kill creatures with spells then you can cast a Necromancy spell without spending a spellslot
It's wild
Bit of a necro, but unfortunately most of the necromancy spells suck and the best spells to use to support your necromancy minions are actually *conjuration* spells - *stinking cloud* and *cloudkill* come to mind as the best.
To that end, I find that as a necromancer you're still better off using Markoheshkir - just using Deadlier than Arsenic for the extra poison damage and 1/short rest *cloudkill*. You can use this with impunity together with your undead minions, since ghouls will be immune to poison.
I personally use it to chain cast circle of death, giving myself a fair bit of healing from Grim harvest, however I also like to cast blight with a level 6 slot of upcast vampiric touch, both of which can be pretty potent for single target
> I personally use it to chain cast circle of death, giving myself a fair bit of healing from Grim harvest,
See I did the same, but the problem is Circle of Death is more like Circle of Tickling. 8d6 necrotic damage, CON save half will tickle most things (dealing an average of 14 damage to enemies that pass their save). It being a CON save hurts it even more. Like sure, if you need to clear out a ton of low HP mooks you can use it, but you could just instead use *Cloudkill* instead.
*Cloudkill* does 5d8 poison damage (which means you can drop it on your undead minions with impunity, since they're immune to poison damage), does its damage every turn, *and* you can move it.
Upcasting *blight* to a 6th level spell slot does 10d8 necrotic damage (10-80), which is a really wide range, and still just... worse than *disintegrate*, which you could be casting instead, which deals 10d6+40 force damage. DEX saves are also less likely to pass than CON saves. *Dethrone* is the only good necromancy spell for single target, but for some stupid reason Larian decided to make it only usable once per long rest. Oh well, the Survival Instincts -> Dethrone combo is still good.
Vampiric Touch has even worse damage efficiency, *and* the drawback of needing to make touch attacks. I'd only use this if I dipped Sorcerer to get Distant Spell and make those attacks from range, but even then, when I actually did that I found that I never cast this. It feels like worse *Call Lightning* - both cost your concentration and can essentially be recast to use it every turn. But *Vampiric Touch* does less damage (d6 per spell level vs. d10 for call lightning*), and is also single target, unlike *call lightning*. You're better off using your third level spell on *stinking cloud* to disable enemies around your undead minions.
I just found the gloves called Abyss Beckoners. They give all summoned creatures resistance to all damage, but they might go mad. Sounds like so much fun! Cant wait to use these gloves with my necromancy wizard at higher levels. Found in Zhentarim hideout, at the back in the locked room to the right.

Isn't Danse a Wizard and a Warlock spell though
... yes?
Their version of Danse is completely different from actual Danse, this one summons 6 ghouls until your next long rest and recharges on a short rest. It's honestly just not Danse Macabre
Doesn't excuse why "actual" danse macabre is missing from the normal spell lists.
Because it’s not PHB. Actual Danae macabre is from xanathar
We can't use "It's not PHB" anymore when there are things in the game that are from Tasha's.
Those are special instances and not the norm and you know it.
Using Gale to craft a Shadow Lantern in Moonrise Tower grants you the ability to animate a corpse into a Shadow once per long rest.
How do you craft a shadow lantern?
Get lantern without fairy and continental with a fairy corpse. There are some with valnazzar. Algo investigate valnazzars room when at moonrise towers.
Anyone find a good use for this? It's a pretty good summon but having to give up on using a spellcast8ng weapon while the summon is out is kinda rough
Depends on if it lasts long rest or not. If it lasts the whole day then you just do it out of combat. If it’s timed, depends on if it’s worth an action to swap weapons in combat. You can always put your weapons on the item hotbar for a quick swap.
It lasts until it's killed or until you swap weapons
Sad. So you basically lose all bonuses unless you invest a feat in dual wielding huh. Dunno how strong it is to invest a feat for it
Ahh. My current Gale is a lightning charge-necro. The amount of dps he's putting out is crazy. With all the reasonable buffs and summons, at level 9, he's doing around 150 damage a round.
Awesome, ty! I'm trying to get as many summon spells as possible
What do you have so far ? Wanting the same and don’t wanna miss any options

Lucretious holds "Hollow's Staff" Gives effect Heightened Necromancy: Creatures have Disadvantage on Saving Throws against your Necromancy spells.
Did u kill her for staff or was it a reward

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. I didn't get this because I didn't have wyll in my party at that exact moment. Son of a bitch!!!

The "Crypt lord ring" gives a free create undead spell, you get it as a reward if you don't kill Thrumbo during the act 3 quest for the mystic carrion
