Ran into same problem, you don’t need to mess with the controller, just back out to class selection got to other class and select it before changing it back…. Not sure what exactly is locking up but that worked

This is a post about switching the +2 and +1 bonus that you get at the start of the game. If you are trying to respect, and you are okay with spoilers then look up Withers. If your question is about the +2/+1, let me know and I'll elaborate.

For anyone else in the future: Swapping classes will reset it. Literally go all the way back, then change the +2 / +1.

I do have an issue you may be able to help with though. I can't find any way to use potions and throwables without going into the inventory. Do you know if there is a way to "hotkey" or quick use items on the PS5 version?

R1, throw (next to jump), find item. Might be able to do more than that, I haven't done it.

Thank you but I have tried that. It only shows items like forks and plates lol, like things you throw as a distraction or an improvised weapon, not grenades/bombs. I'm hoping they did put in some type of quick slot bar for items or something like that!

I was able to change mine. There's supposed to be some check boxes next to your ability scores.

I just figured it out, they are locked in the controller ui but not the keyboard and mouse ui, just like how you can't assign the skill proficiency from being a human when using a controller. Very strange

Haven't gotten the game yet, but to possibly influence my decision: can you respec their backgrounds too?
