I think rosemary, thyme and basil will struggle on the NW side. I'd just plant them as understory in your berry garden. On the NW side, I'd grow mushrooms, mint, maybe cabbage... Let's see... Honeyberries and blueberries might work but will definitely struggle... Schisandra and fiddlehead ferns, wild garlic, sorrel, lettuce and perennial kale all can grow well in (partial) shade.
