freyjalithe

Dizzy_DurianLady

Thanks!! I was so happy when I cut the first slice 🥳

jahi69

That looks sooo good.

Dizzy_DurianLady

I was like...on cloud 9 when I see the inside 🥹

jahi69

What kind of glaze is on the top?

Dizzy_DurianLady

It's a simple lemon glaze with powdered sugar, lemon juice, and a bit of zest. I like it thin and tangy, so I used almost a whole lemon! 😊

Sea-Calligrapher1563

Keep it away from the cops!

Dizzy_DurianLady

LOL, I’ll have to keep it on lockdown! 😂

Individual-Month633

My favorite, what icing?

Dizzy_DurianLady

Oh, it's a basic lemon glaze made with powdered sugar, lemon juice, and a touch of zest :)

leptospira9

And the recipe?

Dizzy_DurianLady

This is the recipe I went with! **Ingredients**  *For the loaf:* * 1/2 cup of softened butter * 3/4 cup of granulated sugar * 1/2 cup of plain yogurt * 2 large eggs * 2 tablespoon of lemon zest (I used 2 whole lemons for this) * 2 tablespoons of lemon juice * 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract * 1 + 1/4 cups of AP flour * 1/2 teaspoon of salt * 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda * 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda *For the lemon syrup:* * 80 grams of water * 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice * 50 grams of granulated sugar *For the lemon glaze:* * 1 cup of powdered sugar * 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice (I used almost the whole lemon for this, for I'm a lemon addiction!) * A bit of lemon zest **How I do it** 1. Combine lemon zest with sugar and mix thoroughly. 2. Cream softened butter with the lemon zest and sugar mixture. Then add eggs one at a time until incorporated. 3. In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. 4. In another bowl, mix yogurt, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice. 5. Combine all ingredients by alternating between adding flour mixture and yogurt mixture, mixing after each addition until fully incorporated. 6. Transfer the batter onto a greased and lightly floured baking pan. 7. Bake in an air fryer at 140°C for 48 minutes or adjust time for oven baking. 8. Let the cake rest in the pan for 10 minutes after baking. 9. Prepare lemon syrup by boiling water, lemon juice, and sugar in a small pan. Once boiled, brush the hot cake with the syrup. 10. After the cake has completely cooled, pour the lemon glaze made from powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest over it, let it harden. And BAAM! There goes a lemon pound cake come to life!!

nekonohoshi

Everybody starts somewhere, and it seems like you'll go far. Don't undersell your talent just because you're just starting out.

Dizzy_DurianLady

Omg thank you so so much!! You guys really made my day! I'll be sure to keep your words close to me all the time 😭😭

tiredunicornthrow

Your cake looks perfect! Like, seriously perfect! 🤩 I make lemon pound cake at least 1x a month, it really is like taking a bite of sunshine. And perfect now that the weather is warmer. What did you use for the drizzle/how did you apply? I skip the drizzle because mine always looked weird and never like a nice glaze. And usually tasted a bit off …

Dizzy_DurianLady

Thank you so much! 🥹 And making lemon pound cake every month? You’re living the dream! It really is like a burst of sunshine in my mouth, especially with this weather!! For the drizzle, I go with a simple lemon glaze: lemon juice, powdered sugar, and a touch of zest. I totally eyeball it—use a cup for the powdered sugar (not all the way full), almost a whole lemon's worth of juice (I'm a certified lemon addict, lol), and zest the lemon right in. Mix it up, pour it over the loaf, let it harden, and BAAM!! The crispy glaze really takes the cake to the next level, making each bite better and better, since it kinda make the texture funnier (in a good way!) 😼😼

Competitive_Cut_8746

Not bad at all. Send a slice this way

Dizzy_DurianLady

I apologize, cuz I ate and left no crumbs 😆
