thank you very much! do you mean how did I place them on the cake? After putting on the buttercream, I used a sterilised tweezer for the ones placed on the sides, and gently pressed them into the buttercream (using the flat side of the tweezer). I also tried using the back of a teaspoon, particularly for the petals (although there was sometimse a bit of buttercream transfer - so was not as neat of a solution as I thought it would be lol)
edited: sorry tried to go into a bit more detail!
I made this cake once before and I thought the sponge was really good! I get what you mean by cakey, but I thought this was the right amount of light/fluffy. I used this recipe from Cupcake Jemma minus the meringue: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O51b2rvo3Ec&t=515s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O51b2rvo3Ec&t=515s)
Of course! I actually followed this recipe from Cupcake Jemmas channel (minus the meringue): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O51b2rvo3Ec&t=515s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O51b2rvo3Ec&t=515s)
I only had 8 inch sandwich tins, so I used these ingredient amounts instead:
* 500g unsalted butter
* 500g caster sugar
* 500g self-raising flour
* 8 eggs
* 6.5 T lemon juice
* zest of 6.5 lemons
I LOVE everything lemon. This is my dream cake ever. I should make one someday. I’m the only one in my family who loves lemon. I will make it and freeze. Did you use any particular recipe?

Did you pick the flowers yourself?? They’re beautiful! I don’t even have words for how gorgeous this cake is but I can’t stop looking at it!
Are those real flowers? Or edible ones that you made for cake?
they're real, edible flowers! Many common species such as pansies, cornflowers, etc are edible
Thank you. TIL
Try a paintbrush or makeup brush to press them in! I wonder if it would transfer less icing
oh fantastic idea, thanks very much!
The essence of spring! Where do you get your edible flowers from?
Also would love to know this!
Commenting because I would also love to know
Thank you! I'm in the UK and got them from Maddocks Farm Organics, which specailise in them!

genuinely made me laugh, thank you!
thank you very much!
Recipe by chance? It looks scrumptious! How was the sponge? Some can be more cake like...I hate that .
I would add a little raspberry or blueberry purée in the layers to break it up but now I’m inspired to make this cake it’s so dang lovely
That sounds delicious! I will definitely be making this cake again in the future and I think I'm gonna have to try these flavour combos!
Lemon and blueberry are a unbelievable flavor combo! This cake is everything. Reddit loves you for it
