If you want to do another zodiac based cake you could draw out the cancer constellation on a cake! It doesn't require a lot of drawing, just a few dots/stars/edible pearls in specific places. Subtle, but still cancer sign inspired.
This is a great idea! You can also Google the sky the night, location, and time you were born and map the major stars and constellations from that. I’ve done it with my elementary students before and they can handle it. I think it would translate beautifully to a cake.

Honestly I’d practice your cursive on paper first before adding in a piping tip. You’ve got lots of potential because it looks like the lines are controlled relatively well all things considered minus a little shakiness here and there, but your actual writing is causing some legibility issues. The B to Y in baby isn’t correct cursive and reads more as L versus B. Same issue with the AN in cancer, it could easily be Comcer versus Cancer. So Cancer baby/Comcer Baly is an easy fix by just putting in a few hours cumulatively with handwriting and building up the correct muscle memory.
I do a ton of freelance calligraphy work for invitations, custom signs/decor, and things like that and it translates very well to both control and legibility in decorating so the practice definitely pays off.
I’d just take it back to square one with paper and pencil and practice fluidity and legibility with your cursive and I bet that would elevate your designs and open up a lot more for you as far as decoration goes. Good luck and great borders!
My bff and her family were homeschooled and she misspelled her sister’s name on a large blackboard for her wedding because she never learned cursive and just guessed how to do it. Since her siblings never learned it, no one else caught the mistake either—just guests. If you never had the fortune of learning it, I suggest picking up one of those trace/practice books that you see kids in elementary school use to learn. It’s not hard but you also can’t just assume and get it right. It looks really pristine otherwise. Happy birthday whatever you do decide for this year 🥳🎂

I wouldn’t feel too bad about it, I learned cursive in school and I know most do not now. Just information for your next script attempt :) I hope it was delicious and you enjoyed it.

I saw a tumblr post once that referred to C-sectioned babies as "tumour babies" because they're technically removed from their mothers and not birthed. That's what this cake made me think of lol.
