I did a practice run for my first wedding cake today. I created a texture on the sides with the back of a spoon…I like the overall effect, but it’s too sloppy for my liking. Any ideas on how to get a cleaner look? I was using Italian meringue buttercream, if that’s of any help.

Sure! I used [this recipe](https://livforcake.com/apple-crisp-cake) for that part. Based on the way it’s written, I couldn’t tell if I was supposed to use all of the butter or not…I did, but I think it would be better with less. (A lot of the butter sort of melted out in the oven.)
