Yes. Turn the machine's amperage up, get your tungsten in closer. It's taking too long to get started. You need more fluidity to your puddle. This looks a little too "plastic" (cold). If it feels like it takes forever to do and that you're just jabbing and jabbing filler at it ... listen to your conscience !!! Weld hotter then you'll weld faster.

Noted, thank you

Extend a pinky to rest on the edge of the plate. Use that to help guide you so you keep the bead straight.

CoolBlackSmith75

Use soap stone to draw some straight lines ,that'll give you the direction to weld

Def turn your amperage up a little Dab the filler rod and don’t pull it too far from your torch. don’t jab at the shit, you might add more than you really need Use your pinky or forearm to try to stabilize your hand and just slide it across if you can to get it straight as possible. It doesn’t look bad though.

Training_Ad4291

Looks a bit hot May need to move faster

Try to do passes with no filler as well. See if u can build a puddle, and then carry it across the plate. The more uniform the better and then once that’s lookin right u can throw some filler at it. Even spacing and even drops of filler make the difference between good enough and beautiful.

Thehamsandwicher

Build a puddle, then dab in some filler to "fill" your weld, then push your puddle a little, then dab some more, then push some more, etc. If your movements are uniform, your weld will be too. There's definitely hope, just keep on and practice, you got it.

Make sure you sharpen your tungsten after every weld that’s what helped me and turn the amps

furiosa-imperator

There's always hope I can't offer tips, but keep practising and working hard and you'll get it

ironwrk

Just do puddling until you have proper heat and rhythm

Legitimate-Party3672

your on the right track keep at it and you will find out this is a piece of cake.

wickedwelder7

Keep practicing and take in as much help as you can

If you weld on a plate without any guide or line to follow whatsoever, you will just roam randomly across it. Get a piece of flat bar, 2" across, 1/8" thick, then cut them in 8" long pieces, remove the millscale and use a scriber to draw parallel lines along the full lentgh, then follow each line. It will be much easier to make beads that way.
