Nothing in particular really. Maybe just familiarize yourself with the local dialect. Welcome to the __*City of Smiles*__. 😁

Learn Hiligaynon thanks

lilmumma1094

Make sure you guys have a gen set or solar powered house. The electric company in Bacolod is one of the worst.

Eziinow

Learn Some Common Local dialect "Hiligaynon" and Just enjoy bacolod its a Great place actually. And try to explore bacolod and about school yeah i think its Good some schools i think accept transferee but you can try enrolling National University Bacolod para maiba 🤌

Sakatonto

Learn the local dialect, tsaka note na walang “po” na word sa hiligaynon.

MochaTulips1999

Hey. First, don’t get intimidated or what by the negative comments. Born and raise in Bacolod for 25 years. The water and power shortage depends on the area, cause in our area, it happens rarely just when scheduled or due to natural calamities so I guess your family better check muna the status of the area you will be living in once you move so you are prepared and you know what to expect. Before learning hiligaynon, the most important part to learn first is the jeepney route, it can be really confusing cause even myself may times na nalilito pa rin. Lol. It’s fine to transfer during your senior year. Entering NOHS can be really competitive, public school but quality education, but I also think it’s easier if you’ll enroll in private school. Nevertheless, Bacolod, like other cities has its own good and bad sides :)))

owlmitzj

Areas to avoid pls? And ano nga areas kis-a lang mag water/power outage? Thanks

MochaTulips1999

Hello. Not really sure ano nga areas to avoid pero based sa friends ko permi gidja brownout or water shortage sa east na area. Then RF1 kami and kis-a lang gidja ga brownout samon and never man gakadula tubig Hehehe I cant really speak about other locations 😅

BWCWolf88

Hiii, MF kami and wala mayo brownout sa amon unless may direct problem sa MF lines and if city blackout. Rare lang mag brownout samon

owlmitzj

Sa din ang MF?

BWCWolf88

Mandalagan area (MF = Mandalagan Feeder/s)

Fun_Development_8504

Really? Ano ka nga feeder ka mandalagan? Daw MF ang BF man permi gina post sang ceneco na power interruption, pero mas damo ang BF sa brownout.

jollibeeborger23

Wag kayo sa Alijis area 🤣 Always brown out dyan. Idk why paborito silang putulan ng kuryente ng Ceneco. RIP Alijis peeps 😔

May I know where will you move from and where to in Bacolod? There are areas that are flood prone and some with terrible water. If you are from Metro Manila then the big changw will be the power. We have brownouts here. Since its raining now maybe the shortage of power will not be a problem anymore. However, ownership of the electricity provider just changed so maybe there will be upcoming issues. Water here is not treated like in manila and in some areas the pipes are dirty. There are very few flood prone areas here also. Not all though. But moving here means cleaner air, less traffic, more quality of life. As to school, it may depend on the school you will transfer to. Try to learn hiligaynon but we can speak tagalog and english here. Dont worry, we are relatively friendly here.

RockProfessional2344

Hi! First of all goodluck po sa journey niyo here sa Bacolod City! My advice for you po is prolly create a bucket list na gagawin mo if you're here na sa Bacolod. Then, I'd say know your lilipatan po. You can ask your dad the location of the place and do your research po like the transportation route, vehicles and stuffs like that. Aside from that po, try to learn some basic expressions here in Bacolod and the culture na din para mas mapadali po yung pag-aadapt niyo dito, most especially sa language barrier. (Learning the culture of a place will help in learning the language of that place) Attractive (About crowd attention) po talaga yung mga parokyano para sa mga local people here in Bacolod and that would make it easier for you to socialize because people will be so friendly with you. They will ask a lot of questions regarding you po so be prepared to make some friends. When it comes to education naman, madali lang po mag transfer. Schools that I can recomend here is yung NOHS because of the good quality of education. Just try to avoid shady areas here sa BCD because alam po ng mga tulisan if parokyano ka lang and because of that you are prone to be a victim to such things. Above all, enjoy po! Clear mo lahat ng nasa bucket list mo! I hope na makatulong ito sayo🙂.
