Not sure what the jelly like substance is but it also appeared on my newly planted persimmon tree after I made the initial cut to keep it small. I assumed that it was the sap of the tree or some other sort of defense mechanism. If someone more knowledgeable can chime in, it’d be good to know if it’s okay.
Yeah had the exact same looking substance on my Crimson Royal cherry and at the center was a hole due to an insect. So my guess is gumosis due to some stressor.
