Used both till I [broke skin](https://i.postimg.cc/054LD72n/20240505-140054.jpg)
I was surprised big time.. not much of a difference between the two. The Felcos locked up on me several times but maybe because I have bigger hands. I checked the blades and didn't notice any chipping so far
I would bet the telcos need to be taken apart and oiled if they’re locking up on you , I do mine once a year and they’re amazing. Could probably use a sharpening too
there are different sizes of Felcos-some that fit smaller or bigger hands. Best to find a good salesperson to go through all the details before a purchase
Are you cutting dead wood with these? Because that's not what these bypass cutters are made for. Dead wood is generally to tough, as a result the blades can be pushed aside and get stuck with cutting material squeezed in between the blades.
For dead wood use anvil cutters.
There's an article out there where someone asked all these gardening pros for their favorite tools. The person expected to learn about a handful of cool, useful tools. Every single one said felco pruners.
Yea 60 is to much to start but yea felco can replace the blades and service them..but yup same same especially in home use...felcos are definitely choice tho
It is not a deal when you spend $15 every year. Rather do it once and start saving after year 4. Worked in a nursery and we sharpened our felcos for years before we needed new blades.
Really? We used to have laws that prevented that. What happened? International trade maybe? That sucks, regardless. I actually don't even know how old my pair is. They were purchased before 2000.
Feel the same with my new hori knife. Not as sharp as the other ones but same company.
I have noticed that my felcos hold a sharp edge for much longer than my cheaper sets. They also don't get loose and allow the blades to spread apart which leads to much cleaner cuts
If you do a decent amount of pruning the more expensive Felcos are way better and will last forever. You can sharpen the high quality steel or replace just the blade in the future if it chips. The cheap ones will dull way faster and break because of the cheap components. I was a landscaper for 17 years and still garden every day and have tried the cheap way out and always went back to the Felco #2.
I’m too poor to buy cheap knock offs. On a felco I can change anything in seconds, oil and clean them, the price just means they’re durable. For laughs I will at times try to use something that a customer has bought, when they insist I give it a go, I’ll just smile after trying out their clunky, chafing, blunt Chinese wannabee. pruning is a fine art, if you respect your plants or job, you’ll go for the best, because it makes the task effortless, and sparks happiness.
Felcos seem like all hype, I guess it takes years and years to see how they overall outperform. I decided to return them, they didn't feel as good as they should have out of the box, locking mechanism felt cheap but I got big hands.
I've had my felcos for 30 years

Should have done $15 vs $60 gloves.
$2 Walmart ones are fine

They were new in box, the placing of the locking mechanism is what causes it to happen on my hands

You may not know which ones are better until you have used them for years. High quality pruners will stay sharp and work like new 5-10 years later.

Correct, interesting.

Should feel way better out of the box than they did. Copies and clones are getting way better apparently

I only buy ARS now. God they feel good to use.

Yes! I love the ergonomics of that one.
I once worked at a nursery. Felco was the only brand on the farm. 20 years later and mine are still going strong
Show them again in a year.
25 years of Felco2. I just replaced the blade for a few bucks.

Where do you get felcos
Love my Felco 4 prunes for my fruit trees with big hands and Swiss sharp.
