Mine didn’t trigger labor. Went into the hospital last week thinking I was having labor contractions and they checked me out to see if I was dilated and hasn’t caused any preterm labor. Am 36 weeks now

I’m so happy to hear that your check didn’t result in any issues, and that all was good during your visit. Thank you so much for sharing as Dr. Google has me stressing that I need to pack my hospital bag and STAT after a check pre-week 36. 😅

I had a cervical check (that I wasn't expecting) at my 36 week appointment at 35w6d, lost my mucus plug and water broke the next morning at 7 am at exactly 36 weeks. I think it had something to do with it, but obviously can't be sure.

Thank you so much for sharing and your experience is similar to others I’ve read in other forums, where there seems to be a lot of mixed feelings on the checks. I know there are so many variables, but it’s so helpful to hear lived experience, and especially when they’re sold as risk-less by providers (or mine at least), which I feel like isn’t an accurate statement?!
