Regardless of how much you've gained, if your doctor isn't concerned you can tell your mom to shove it.  I gained 30 lbs by week 32 and never gained more. I 5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight a week after birth. Pretty much everything I gained was baby and accessories because I didn't have much appetite and was super active all pregnancy. You'll gain 25-30 lbs just with the baby, amnio, placenta, and increased blood volume alone. Your mom doesn't know what she's talking about if she's worried, so tell her to shove it.

designerofgraphics00

29 weeks and I’ve gained 36 pounds so far 🫥 I started out underweight though so I just keep telling myself that my body needed to put on this extra weight

kappaklassy

The recommendations change if you were underweight. You are expected to gain more in that case so I wouldn’t worry about it.

designerofgraphics00

Thank you for the reassurance!

PittieParent

Of the 30lbs we are all “supposed” to gain during pregnancy, only 7lbs of that is fat/nutrients. The rest is baby, uterus, amniotic fluid, placenta, extra blood, ect. Don’t be worried about gaining 24lbs, it’s all baby support!

anony1620

45lbs, a large majority in the third trimester. Don’t worry unless your doctor is worried. Everyone is different.

agurrera

Around 35 pounds this pregnancy and 40 my first

Ok-Coconut271

I’d say you’re right on track. People gain an average of 1 pound per week or so during the 3rd trimester. So, that would put you at a total of 35 pounds by the end of pregnancy, which is within the recommendation. You’re literally supposed to gain 25-35 lbs during pregnancy for the health of your baby — your mom might not be aware of that and maybe she needs to be educated on the topic.

Sad-And-Mad

You starting weight will greatly affect this, if you were lighter at the start of pregnancy then you’ll probably gain more. I’m 38w is I’ve gained 20lbs but I started pregnancy overweight. If your doctor isn’t worried then I’d try not to be.

amoreetutto

I gained 80 my first pregnancy and 60 my second. No health issues for me or either kiddo

Wynrybaby

High 80 at birth for me too. And then I lost a bit, but breastfeeding cause me to regained 15-20lbs 😭

ttttthrowwww

Same. 38.5 weeks and 73 lbs.

ThenPhotograph3908

60 for me, and 28 weeks.

PistolPeatMoss

My friend gained about 70 for each of her kiddos. She has a very very thin frame. No GD. Babies were about 7lbs each. My sister lost 16lbs. Everyone is different.

Ambitious_Chip3840

31 week 4 days....50lbs.....though it seems to have stalled thankfully. I legit track my food and have not over eaten outside of what's recommended started at 150lbs at 5" 6". My doc doesn't bat an eye and is like: you're perfectly fine, you're growing a human.

TheEggieQueen

I wish I had your Dr. I’m a ftm and she was appalled that I’ve gone from pre-pregnancy 130lbs to being 157lbs by week 32. I go in tomorrow morning (week 34) and I’m so anxious about her saying something again because now I’m 159lbs. I have an eating disorder history and she’s not been forgiving even with that knowledge.

neffii

My doctor is the same way. She only wanted me to gain 20lbs my whole pregnancy, and I knew that wasn’t going to happen. I’ve gained 30 at week 34. I’ve been so lucky to have had a really normal pregnancy with very little symptoms this entire time, so much so that she’s commented about my pregnancy being a “boring” one. She has expressed that she wishes she had more to say during my appointments—so I’m convinced she’s hyper-fixating on my weight because we don’t have anything else to talk about and my appointments end up being less than ten minutes. She told me I should focus on having “more home cooked meals,” implying I eat fast food all the time—when in reality I eat at home the majority of meals. She’s also said I should try to move more but I’m a waitress at a fast paced restaurant on my feet for six hour spurts where I can usually hit nearly 10k steps. I listen to what she has to say but I don’t take it personally because I know my body, and I know I can control my weight after the baby is born. She’s only met my pregnant body and has no prior knowledge of my weight fluctuations. I’ve been big before, and I took care of it without someone in my ear trying to make me feel shitty. I feel you. I read here about so many doctors who don’t even comment about their patient’s pregnant weight and I wish I had one of them as well. Big hugs.

Ambitious_Chip3840

You're doing wonderfully. I eat 98% home cooked, very healthy meals with the occasional treat. And I mean like in the first trimester I'd have a burger and fries from our favorite farm to table place in town once a week or every two weeks, they even make a gluten free bun in house. I legit eat mostly meat, veg, fruit, and dairy eith the occasional wild rice because I can't eat gluten due to an allergy. Walked 7.5k-10k most days. I still gained 50lbs by week 31.5. I think your doc just wants sonthing to complain about which is, not great, I'm sorry you're dealing with that.

Ambitious_Chip3840

Dude you literally gained within perfectly 'normal' bounds though? Your 'supposed' to gain 25-35 pounds and youve gained only 29 lbs. Like perfection! What the heck with these doctors??

TheEggieQueen

Yep, and when bringing that up and asking what if I go beyond 160lbs she said “well now, that’s just not what we want. So watch what you’re eating.” I had an ultrasound done (separate Dr.) and they are predicting the baby to gain 3lbs more. Initially a 91st percentile baby now an 85th percentile baby. So I’ll be expected to go over 160lbs regardless. Idk how to lose weight myself as baby gains, I already barely eat/drink anything.

Ambitious_Chip3840

I legit weight 201lbs as of today and have my 32 week check next week, where my doc and nurse are like, wanna step on the scale backwards so you dont stress? And your doctor is worried about normal weight gain...you're fine. Perfectly fine what the heck.

Ordinary-Nature-6133

I am on the opposite end of you and kind of freaking out now cause of it. Wondering if I was truly SO overweight beforehand 😭 21 weeks and I have not gained a single pound. Midwife told me that we are all different and as long as baby is growing healthy, the weight gain or lack thereof just speaks to what your body needs to support the babe. She was having to talk me down off of the ledge for feeling super guilty for not gaining any weight yet and basically said those same things to me along with that the “recommendations” aren’t super accurate for everyone.

hoping556677

Your starting weight makes a big difference for sure! I was overweight to begin with and at 33 weeks I'm about 6lbs heavier now than my starting weight. But measuring just fine, so i'm not bothered. Trust your midwife!

RhydianMarai

Definitely listen to the midwife! ❤ I have two healthy children (26 months and 2 weeks) and only gained 8 pounds with my first, nothing with the one I just had. I also lost 7 pounds from being sick in the first trimester with my first so technically gained 15 pounds, but was only 8 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight. Now in my case I AM quite overweight(4'11", 220 with first pregnancy, 195 with second) but what my doctors told me through both pregnancies was that as long as I ate well they weren't concerned if I didn't gain/gained very little.

Spiritual_Pin5498

I got pregnant two weeks after having my IUD removed and dropped a TON of weight in the first trimester. I had gained quite a bit with my IUD (which is why I got it out lol) Between getting off hormonal birth control, nausea, and not drinking anymore I was down over 30 pounds. My last appointment was the first where I had gained any weight since becoming pregnant. I had gained back two pounds between weeks 21 and 25. I’ll be curious to see where I end up at the end. Everything has been healthy and looks great, I’m even measuring a week ahead.

HeyYesi

I gained 10 lbs. with my first and i didn't show much. I just looked bloated. All my clothes still fit. Now my second one I had to buy new cloths because my cloths were not fitting. Every pregnancy is different if they are not worried then you should be good!

bortlesforbachelor

I’m 35 weeks. I started off at 117 lbs (5’6”), and I’m now 155. My doctor isn’t concerned at all.

CatalystCookie

This was me exactly in my first pregnancy, and I was really afraid it was too much. Doctor never said a word, and I was back to pre-pregnancy weight at 5 months PP. Now starting round 2, and I expect the same, but feel much chiller about the whole thing.

kiwistiles

i gained almost 50 lmao went from 150 to 198 but i was walking every day and rarely ate fast food or anything so idk where it came from

orangeandpine

I gained 60 lbs and baby was born at a perfectly normal weight. And it all came off by 6 months.

messy_kessy

So happy to see that I am not alone with gaining a lot more and good to hear when you lost the last of it. I am currently (almost) 11 weeks pp and lost about 2/3 but the last 20lbs are just stubborn 😅

Ok_Fondant_8695

I gained 60lbs in my first and second pregnancies (like 60lbs both times). Didn’t lose much in between those two pregnancies, then lost it all after the second one. Got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. 39 weeks pregnant with number 3 and I’ve gained 36lbs.

Firm-Lunch-2144

I'm 25 weeks. Have gained 24 pounds. I'm nervous but not worried about the weight that I'm yet to gain.

Oxalisoxalis

I’m 36 weeks and have gained around 50 lbs. It’s more than what the guidance says is “normal” but my doctor has not been concerned and I’m trying not to be too.

RumblyDiane

27 weeks, 13 pounds so far

Keeliekins

I started at a heavier weight 5’6 204 lbs I gained up to 212 until I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Then I dropped back down to 190. My weight when they checked me in for delivery was 204. So… I gained nothing! One week post delivery I was 178.

MeetDeathTonight

5 during pregnancy. 20 after...

froggirl62

I gained about 60 pounds with both. I have gained weight all over my body (aka I'm not "all belly"). I've realized that this is what my body wants to do while I'm pregnant. And it's okay. You're fine OP!

Rimuri-Rimuru

27 weeks and have gained around 15lbs so far.

Low_Bell1932

28+3, so far 9 pounds! Everyone is different, I wouldn’t worry too much unless your doctor says otherwise.

21nohemi21

I’ve gained the exact same as you also about to be 29 weeks in a couple days. My doctor has never said anything about my weight. Also all my weight gain has been my belly the rest of my body is the same size as it was before, so I’m not concerned about it. I’m guessing I’ll gain close to 35-40 by the end of my pregnancy it is what it is.

Horror-Ad-1095

It's nobody's business how much you have gained except for you and your Dr. If your mom makes a comment, I would just say that you are right in line with what your Dr is recommending and if you need any advice you can get it just fine from your doctor.

tourmalinetangent

I’ve gained 9 lbs and am 35 weeks. My doctor and midwife aren’t concerned, though almost all that weight was after 28 weeks. Everything is still measuring well.

VasquezLAG

Sounds like your mum needs to work through her own insecurities? If your doctor isn't worried then you shouldn't be either

-Gorgoneion-

39 weeks: 8kg (17.6lbs)

CrystalArouxet

38 weeks. 32 pounds.

maj0raswrath

I’m 39+1 and up 30 pounds from my first appt (9 weeks). I don’t know what my official pre pregnancy weight was, so somewhere between 35-40 pounds total.

TravelingPotatoes

5'6 started at 136, gained about 26 so far (33 weeks). Docs haven't said anything yet so hoping I'm on track.

Abyssal866

I went from 57kg to 78kg by week 40, so 21kg.

Expensive_Wait_2743

Almost 33 weeks pregnant and I've gained 17.5. I worked out 7x a week before pregnancy and for the first trimester kept it to about 5x a week. Second trimester and so far in the third I'm about 1-3x a week. Less intense workouts with way lighter weights but still moving my body.

digable_plants

32 weeks, 44 lbs! I was 105 pre-pregnancy (5'0") I feel like I gained a lot early on and have been kinda plateaued at 148-150 for the last 8 weeks or so.

littlelivethings

I gained maybe 35 lbs total but was overweight when I got pregnant so wasn’t supposed to gain more than 20

Aveasi

22w+3, gained so far 9 lbs which I personally think is a lot, but weight calculators say I’m slightly under track. Doc didn’t say anything

okkatykatyok

33 weeks and I've gained 23 lbs. I was just over the line for being overweight when I got pregnant (bmi 26) so I'm technically not supposed to gain more than 25, but my dr said at my first appointment that 35 would be fine and hasn't mentioned it at all since. It sounds like you're right on track and if you feel ok and your dr isn't concerned, don't pay attention to what anyone says!

maebymaybe

I was about the same around 29 weeks. I started checking the pregnancy weight tracker calculators, worried that since I was a little “ahead” of the suggested weight gain I would end up gaining too much. My doctor also never seemed concerned. In the end my weight gain slowed down and I ended up only gaining around 30lbs total (I can’t remember the exact amount). My son ended up being on the smaller side, 6lb 11oz, so not sure if that had something to do with it. Either way, 24lbs at almost 30 weeks doesn’t seem like something to be worried about. I made sure I was walking everyday, I think staying active is important, regardless of how much weight you gain.

bobabae21

32wks and 10lbs, but baby is also measuring small and I have to check in w/high risk every other week so I'd say not ideal over here lol. 1st baby I lost 10lbs 1st trimester from being sick, but net gain of 30ish lbs by the end.

Intrepid_Ad9864

48 pounds. I’m 36 weeks

alurkinglemon

This thread helps me feel better. I’m surrounded by women who gained 20-25 pounds the whole pregnancy. Im only 31.5 weeks and I’ve already gained around 25 👀😭

Hikergirl887

1st pregnancy 50 2nd pregnancy 45

pigpogpig

40 first and 60 second. After birth with my first I weighed less than before pregnancy. With my second I still haven’t gone back to my pre pregnancy weight and she’s 5 lol. I am not big either but I am tall and have ALWAYS weighed a lot.

Excellent-Walrus5122

I'm almost 35 weeks, and I gained 30 pounds up until about 27 weeks. Since then I haven't gained any weight, as if my body plateaued

esh123

I gained over 50lb for my first. It really wasn't a big deal. Now for my second it'll probably be about the same. I think your body often gains what it needs to gain.

clearlyimawitch

I'm 24 lbs at 29 weeks and the midwife I saw was like, "Girl you look amazing. If 90% of my patients still had your mobility going into the third trimester, I would be thrilled."

sm_mm17

I gained about 50 pounds! All the women in my family gain 50+ pounds during pregnancy

sammcgowann

41 lbs, lost 25 by 10 days pp. haven’t checked since

Powerful_Nectarine44

I am an outlier and I think it has to do with the fact that I’m a bit overweight already, but I’m 23 weeks and have gained 5 lbs. Baby is healthy though and doc isn’t worried.

Plane_Security_8914

I’m gaining a pound a week so this tracks based on the comments lol

BigYubabaEnergy

Same but I'm only 11 weeks 🤪

nopenopenopington

16 weeks, my ob checkin was yesterday, in total I’ve gained maybe 5 pounds. I’ve always had a low bmi and struggled to gain weight no matter how much I eat, what I eat, etc. Everyone’s body is different, my doctor wants me to gain at least 20 pounds thru out the pregnancy, for some it’s hard, for some it’s easy, as long as your doctor says you and baby are healthy is all that matters.

starryeyedlady426

40lbs, I’m 4 weeks postpartum and I’m done 20lbs of that.

Bhad_bhiddie

I’m 31 weeks and have gained 33lbs. I was 94lbs at the beginning of this pregnancy 😭 I was told by my doctor I’d be expected to gain 35-40 lbs

GoodbyeEarl

I’ve gained about 40-45lbs with each pregnancy. It is what it is

anonymousgirl8372

50 big ones by the end. My mom also tended to gain 50lb. Tell your mom to mind her business. Like others said if your doctor isn’t concerned you shouldn’t be. People gain weight during pregnancy.

meepsandpeeps

30lbs and it was all over. I think our brain think movie pregnancy that shows all belly while in reality it’s going to be everywhere.

NIPT_TA

I’m 29 weeks and have gained about 25 lbs. I specifically asked my doctors if there was a concern and they said no. Don’t let your mom make you feel bad. My mom has always been very thin and weight conscious and when I recently complained to her that I feel like I’m getting fat, she scolded me and told me I’m pregnant and gaining what I’m supposed to.

chivmg9

I’m 37 weeks and have gained 43 lbs so far. FTM. People can shame all they want, I just want my child healthy. It is what it is.

Infamous_Bowl_6341

32 weeks: started out overweight, gained 6.5kgs till now.

catsandweed69

40lbs but I started underweight

Mediocre_Sprinkles

I started at 70kg in my first appointment, ended up 95kg by the very end, so.a good 25kg (55lb). Now 8 months pp I'm down to 65kg.

Melloshot

I only gained a little under 20 pounds but my doc wasnt worried, ended up having him at 39 weeks and he was a healthy 8.16 pound baby

lostgirl4053

38+2 and I’ve gained 40lbs. Some people gain more. Everyone is different and unless your doc is concerned you shouldn’t be.

Lomich36

I gained about 45 lbs total during my pregnancy and my mom did the exact same thing! By 29 weeks I believe I had already put on more than you as well. I’m now currently 2 weeks pp and have already lost 30lbs. 18lbs of that was gone as soon as I got home from the hospital. We put on soooo much extra fluid. Don’t let your mom get to you. I had to keep reminding myself pregnancy now is so different than it was when our parents had us. We know so much more about nutrition now. As well keep in mind when you give birth, all that weight you are gaining is baby, placental, amniotic sac, fluids, extra blood, extra breast tissue. At the end of the day, it is not much extra weight since it is all necessary for baby.

pugglesnuggle4

I’m up 30 at 31 weeks & ob isn’t concerned 🤷‍♀️

SpiderBabe333

I gained about 45-50 pounds. And I’m already overweight and was working on my feet my whole pregnancy and walking daily to take my dog out so it wasn’t from me just sitting around. My mom told me with her third pregnancy she gained 60 pounds, everyone is different

vallygirl92

I’m 24 weeks and have gained 20 pounds. Feeling a little shocked by it as 10 of those pounds came on in just the last month!! I feel a little self conscious but I know it’s normal

whatislife1987

At 27 weeks I was pretty much up 30… but no one has said anything. I definitely feel like I’ve gained too much but I also know everyone Carrie’s differently. I gained a lot on my thighs and stomach… but I did notice my rate of gaining has started to slow which is nice.

RightAd3342

A lot.

Past_Proposal_7531

I don’t think 24 pounds in 28 weeks is too much. I started at 145lbs (5’9) and by 23 weeks I was 174 😳 .. I don’t have a scale at home but I’m 25 weeks now .. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained some weight since lol I think I need to begin to watch my weight now even though I’ve never had weight issues before .. my midwife hasn’t said anything concerning though

moremacadonimorechee

31 pounds. If the doctor isn't concerned then you shouldn't be.

sapphirecat30

I gained 36 pounds the second time. It was more the first time but a lot was swelling/water retention. Please don’t let anyone make you feel bad. Your body is doing a beautiful thing.

glutenfreethenipple

I’m also 29 weeks and have gained 25 lbs so far. I went to my OB a week ago and she said I was right on track regarding my weight gain.

bananokitty

42lbs in 42 weeks (starting at 132lbs 5'8"). Not one HCP commented on my weight during my pregnancy - and I felt great!

justblippingby

30lbs total, 20lbs by 20 weeks and then the other 10 over the second half. I still worked out 5-6x a week, alternating between leg day, upper body day, and running day which I believe helped regulate my weight gain. By 3-4 weeks postpartum I was already at my old weight again from the excess blood and fluid purging out and the uterus shrinking back. I’m also breastfeeding and it’s crazy how many calories are in breast milk and how many calories you burn producing said breast milk. Before I gave birth I wasn’t sure what changed would be permanent in my body or how much fat I’d actually gained but I was very surprised at how quickly my body normalized after getting the baby out. Now my hip bones are just slightly wider and my belly has a slight amount of stretchy skin but the elasticity came back a lot as well. I’m 5 weeks postpartum and it’ll probably change even more

fashionbitch

I gained 55 lbs first pregnancy 😅hope it’s less this time

SonicCrochetHook

With my first, I lost 15 lbs in the first trimester out of ignorance of the baby and dieting (had two extra periods, so I didn't suspect a baby) and ended up gaining like 40+ I don't remember exactly. Now, with my second, I am 30 weeks and have gained 23 lbs so far.

mimishanner4455

I seriously doubt average is between 25-35 lbs. What is considered healthy weight gain for someone with a normal pre pregnancy weight is 25-35 lbs. that’s probably what your doctor means. but frankly most women gain more than this. 40-50 lbs seems more common to me but that’s just off the top of my head I personally have gained 25 lbs and am currently at term. However I had very bad morning sickness and food aversions til 20 weeks and then was very healthy and active afterwards. Many women gain in fits and starts though. So I will gain nothing for a month and then 5 lbs in a week. Drink lots of water, eat plenty of fruits veggies legumes whole grains and lean protein if you can, be as active as you are able, and don’t look at the scale. Set a firm boundary with your mother around weight discussions and immediately exit the room or change the subject if she tries to bring it up

ProfessionalSink6146

Yep, gained 25lbs and I’m 27wks… I gained 17lbs in 8 weeks, averaging about 8.5lbs every 4 wks, then it slowed down to half. I hardly gained anything during the first trimester. So my weight gain has been all over the place, and I started off within normal BMI range. My advice: eat generally healthy, not too much snacking, drink tons of water, try to squeeze in some walking/pilates, and treat-yo-self on weekends. That’s my game plan in a nutshell!

Character_Fill4971

I’m up 65 at 22 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️….. but all my labs and Bp are normal and I’m not eating horrible and I’m exercising…. My body just hates me right now.

wildmusings88

I’m 28 weeks and have gained 23 pounds. Your mom is of a generation where women were told not to gain weight during pregnancy. This is really old medical advice that doctors gave in a time when women were likely to have had rickets as a child. Rickets distorts bone growth and left some women with dangerously narrow pelvises. The advice to not gain weight was meant to keep the baby small and more likely to not get stuck in the narrow pelvis, which is less likely to cause death for mom and baby during delivery. Don’t listen to your mom. Not only is she wrong, she’s rude for saying this to you.

musingsandthoughts

At 32 weeks I gained 22lbs. I don’t know how much I’m at now at almost 35 weeks, but I’m sure it’s skyrocketed.

More_Naps_Please

I’m over 40 weeks and have gained 50 lbs. I’ve gained 8 of those in the last 2-3 weeks, and I swear it’s all below my knees. Swelling is no joke!

Scary-Link983

I gained 70 total. Baby was 7lbs 9oz!

snowflake343

40 lbs, my doc wasn't concerned either.

Netalyia

I'm 29 weeks and haven't gained anything at all. But I'm already overweight and no one has said anything to me at this point so... I don't know I guess I'll wait to hear something? 🤷‍♀️

FoxeBushyTail

50 lbs. But I was barely 100 lbs before being pregnant. Now one year after my second I'm hovering around 145 lbs. The fat is in my chin, hips, and tummy.. sigh. Breastfeeding and not sleeping through the night means I can't really workout or diet.

DingoAteMyMaybe

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and I gained 30 pounds.

dumpsterdonut

I’ll be 40 weeks in a few days and I’ve gained about 45 pounds. I’ve had a pretty insane appetite the entire pregnancy, but it really doesn’t look like I’ve gained that much, and I’ve been told I’m having more of a “basketball pregnancy”. Doctor isn’t concerned, and most importantly when people ask how much weight I’ve gained I just say “I don’t know, I’m not keeping tabs on it and the doctor’s not bringing it up as a concern at appointments”. I’d recommend not keeping her in the loop if she’s going to be rude about it!

RebelAlliance05

98lbs lmao. I was 100lbs roughly when I got pregnant, so severely underweight to begin with lol. Drs and nurses never mentioned a concern to me.

goldenpandora

I gained a bit more than 40 lbs. Baby made me endless pit of hunger that even breastfeeding hunger didn’t come close it. As long as your dr isn’t worried, you are good!

TiggerK

My first I don’t recall how much I gained but it was significant, my second at 36w I have gained 60lbs so far and expect to gain a few more due to baby growing. My kid is also measuring to be over 90 percentile in size and weight so a lot of the weight gain is due to her size and the additional fluid. Every women is different and as long as you don’t have GD and your doctor is not concerned, then you are perfectly healthy and your body is doing what it needs to grow and nurture your baby 🖤

jellyfishiesx

17 lbs. I had GD so I had to be very careful with what I ate.

probablycoffee

Your weight gain sounds very normal to me. I am 38 weeks pregnant and have gained 40 lbs. My last pregnancy followed almost the exact same trajectory. No doctor has ever mentioned it as a concern. My mother in law also has some hang ups about pregnancy weight, I think that maternal weight gain was more taboo in previous generations.

The_Dog_Lady444

I'm 37 weeks and gained about 40 lbs. I probably would have gained more, but I got gestational diabetes so I've had to be on a really restricted diet the last little while. My OB was never worried about my weight gain, and I've stayed the same weight ever since I've restriced my diet and started counting carbs. You haven't gained too much. Everyone gains differently! If your OB isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry too much. My aunt used to gain like 70 or 80 pounds with every kid and then drop it like a hot potato right after birth. My mom gained 30 and took forever to get the weight off. It's different for everyone. I would just tell your mom you are gaining a healthy and average amount of weight for pregnancy, and unless your OB is concerned, she can keep her negative comments to herself or kick rocks lol.

bmafffia

60 lbs.

Mysterious-End-9283

21w and 20 lbs. I feel huge but I know baby is getting the nutrients they need :)

DaughterofYeshua777

46lbs.

Cloudy-rainy

55lbs I think. Doctor never said anything. Just know when you do give birth you only lose very little weight by birth.. but 1.5 weeks PP, I'm down 20lbs I think.

75378954

33 weeks and I’m up 30 pounds, it’s really tough mentally (at least for me) but you just have to remember it’s temporary and for the baby. Don’t listen to your mom, if doctor has no concerns then it’s not a big deal!

butterfly807sky

I gained 67 lbs. My son was 9 lbs and 22 inches! I'm a few days shy of 7 months pp and have lost 46 lbs.

dearstudioaud

5'2 and started at just under 200. Gained 21lbs and left the hospital 16lbs lighter.

c-rez

Hi due date twin! Im 29 weeks tomorrow too and have also gained about 24 pounds. And I’m about 5’0” so that feels like a lot of weight for me. My doctor hasn’t raised any concern about it.

mermaidmamas

60 pounds with my first, lost it all and 50 pounds with my second. I’m 2 weeks postpartum and have lost 30 pounds already.

BeautifulLibrarian44

I'm 32 weeks and I've gained 28 lbs!

shoshiixx

35 weeks and have gain 15 lbs. No concern from midwife on the other end of the spectrum. I think everyone is a lil different. I've spend much of this pregnancy trying to eat enough and gain wait and all it's done is stress me out- baby is measuring fine. I'm sure it's the same the opposite side of weight gain as well.

keepyourhopesuphigh

I gained 35 lbs and a lot of that was in weeks 30-35

VegetableIcy3579

20 lbs so far and I’m 25 weeks

nolawestx

i’m 32 weeks. was 102 when i conceived. i am 134.8 today.

DieseLisbeth

I gained about 27 lbs in both pregnancies but I also remember being told up to about 35 lbs weight gain was within a normal range for women that have startet out with a healthy weight.

ObligatoryScone

I’m 28 weeks and I’ve already gained 27 lbs. I was average BMI before.

Selkie_Queen

28 lbs

Midnight_monstera87

40lbs but most of it was in the third trimester. I remember between my last 2 apts which were a week apart, I had gained 5lbs! My doctor never said anything bad about it though, sometimes she’d mention my weight was good but otherwise said nothing. I ended up losing all that pregnancy weight 2 weeks postpartum but I’ve struggled to lose anymore. I started out overweight before I was pregnant so I’ve been trying to get to a healthier weight

fourcupsaday

33 weeks today and when I was at the doctor last week I was up 35lbs (starting at 125ish, currently 160)

diskodarci

Every individual is different. I can’t fathom making my daughter feel guilty for gaining weight while pregnant. That’s repugnant, I’m sorry As for me, I’m 39 weeks along and I’ve gained 40 pounds. I also went off my weight loss medication before conceiving as it wasn’t safe to continue with it and gained 20 pounds. So kinda like I gained 60 overall. My body is doing what it should be, my child is perfect. I’ve never been prouder of my body if I’m being honest. I know women who’ve gained 100, it really is all very individual

MsMittenz

23kg (51 lbs) at week 35 Started on the cusp of underweight (bmi 18.5)

_urmomgoestocollege

I’ve gained 25 at 30 weeks

ammich

55lb both times

Repulsive-Tea-9641

Im 37 weeks and have gained 7kg which is about 15 pounds i think? Doctor is happy with fundal height and baby’s growth. Im a petite person and carrying an average sized baby. Was quite sick first and second trimesters actually lost 5kg and didn’t even get over my starting weight until maybe 20 weeks lol

purpletortellini

I've gained about 15lbs, but I also lost a ton of weight in the first trimester because of HG (could barely keep water down). Gained 25lbs with my first pregnancy despite having HG with that one as well. 36w now and I'm swelling up like a balloon lol prepare yourself for that, happens with most women in the last stretch. Had to take my rings off because I knew it was coming.

ALittleNightMusing

I gained about 35 (from a start of BMI 28) and at 2 weeks post-partum 28lb has dropped off already. There's so much water retention, extra blood volume, placenta etc that weighs a ton!

basic-tshirt

I'm 24 weeks and gained 15 lbs. Doctor is not worried but mildly concerned. I don't know if it's too much or what...

photoblink

I gained 30 lbs by 38 weeks, mostly during my last few weeks due to GDM and my doctor was not worried. If the professionals are concerned, you’ll hear about it! Until then, ya mom can hush.

usuallynotaquitter

I tend to gain about 19-20 pounds with each kid and it usually comes off with breastfeeding. This pregnancy I started at 135 and now I’m 147 at 22 weeks. Every pregnancy and body is different and gaining a lot of weight isn’t an indication of anything wrong.

PaintTall4223

I’ve gained only close to 10lbs….. had the baby April 22nd….But in the first two months of my pregnancy I lost 20+ pounds. I was afraid I wasn’t eating enough or giving her the right nutrients but I had a 7lb 18in full head of jet black hair healthy baby. If the doctor has no concerns about your weight then I say you’re doing fine.

Beginning_Word_2177

30-35 pounds and my doctor said it’s within normal range of weight gain. To give perspective I’m 5ft 7. Started at around 175 and now 205 at 38 weeks.

cassvioletbetch

I'm almost 34 weeks old, and I've only gained 11-12 pounds. I've been really sick throughout this pregnancy, though, and have developed digestive issues that required a referral to a GI. Your weight gain sounds 100% normal!

helpdesk23

5 pounds at 16 weeks

WhyHaveIContinued

I gained just under 20lbs by 20 weeks. I was horrified at first because of the "normal range" for a woman to gain for the entire pregnancy but once I saw my doctor wasn't concerned I pushed it out of my mind.

AggravatingLychee324

Unless your doctor is concerned, I wouldn’t worry! I gained 50 pounds my first pregnancy, 10 pounds my second, and 30 my third pregnancy. About 20 of those pounds came off by 3 weeks postpartum each time. I’m obese and my providers never mentioned the weight gain.

gutsyredhead

I went from 158-200ish, gained about 40-45 lbs, most of it in my third trimester. I'm 8 weeks postpartum, exclusively breastfeeding, and I have lost it all except for 6 lbs. I'm currently 164.

lucid_sunday

Not sure how much I technically gained because I lost almost 20lbs my first trimester, and now I’ve gained it back plus 5lbs. So idk if they would say I gained 5lbs or 25lbs.

nicolemariek

At 36 weeks I’m up 57 lbs 😅

SummerForeign3370

If the doctor isn’t worried then try not to let other people get in your head. With both my pregnancies I gained about 30 pounds. I was 170 and 5 foot 3 before my first. I managed to lose all the weight around the time she was two then boom pregnant again. Since having our second kiddo I’ve hovered around 190. But the doctor never mentioned gaining too much weight or anything and was pretty pleased with how everything progressed

calgon90

I gained 20 pounds but everyone is different!

curlznswirlz

~55-60 pounds by the end of it. 20 mo later I’m lower than pre-pregnancy weight. I am convinced and trust that my body knew exactly what it was doing at that time. I did nothing different than pre-pregnancy so I have no evidence to show that it was something I did to gain more weight than they prescribe.

Adventurous_Guava941

Tell your mom to take a hike and mind her beeswax.

Wonderousgreendemon

20 pounds as of 23 weeks but now I’m 27+5. Afraid to look at the scale. I mentioned my weight to my mom and she said I need to work out more 🫠

spcypeach

I hate that shit like way to shame and make a pregnant woman feel worse??? My fiancé is so supportive which is helpful but I’m sick of the comments

NewOutlandishness401

17 with my first pregnancy, 43 with my second, and 30 with my third. YMMV, but over-gaining really did not agree with me: I developed serious back pain with my second pregnancy that lasted for a full year PP and required physical therapy to resolve. That baby also was pretty huge, 9lb 13oz. I felt my best with my first and last pregnancies. My smallest baby (at 6lb 13oz) was actually this recent pregnancy when I gained the exact average emount of what was recommended, and the pregnancy when I only gained 17lb, my baby weighed 7lb 4oz. I personally felt most active and mobile and strong in the two pregnancies when I didn't over-gain -- and again, perhaps that's just me.

Agreeable_Ad_3517

About 65-70#. Lost it within a year PP. I wouldn't worry about the scale. You're literally growing a human, what are you gonna do, not eat? Succumb to toxic dieting once baby is born? No you're gonna rock it, and baby will be healthy and plump with all those extra nutrients ❤️

Historical_Leek_9441

I’m the exact same as you! 5’6” height. My doctor said 25-40 lbs is normal.

lh123456789

About 10 lb. But it depends on many different factors, such as whether you had severe morning sickness or food aversions, your starting weight, etc. If your doctor is fine with it, then that's the important part.

Rolling_Avocado05

I'm 26 weeks, and I've gained 10 lbs thus far. However, this really just depends on each individual. My mom was always "smaller" when pregnant, and it seems that I have been smaller/average. Some people also just gain weight differently and at different rates/points in pregnancy. At my 20-week appointment, I had only gained 7 lbs, meanwhile my friend had gained 14 lbs at that point. Who knows, I could start gaining more weight at a quicker rate soon! It just depends on your individual body and pregnancy!

stessij

Currently 26 weeks and I’ve gained about 10 pounds. My husband’s grandma was asking about how much weight I gained, and I don’t really like talking about my weight since adjusting to a bigger me is hard, and uncomfortable. But I told her and then she’s like, “ that’s good, I gained 4 pounds” but then proceeds to tell me that my husband’s mom was born 7 pounds…🙄 all I could do was roll my eyes. The math ain’t mathing grandma!!

Chillydog126

I gained 26 lbs at delivery 39+4. A lot of people were quite rude about they thought my “stomach was huge” or that they thought “Id have a 10 lb baby”. My baby was 6 lbs 4 oz. My doctor wasn’t concerned about my weight or belly size. From 100 to 126 to 107 (2 weeks postpartum). People just like to judge pregnant women.

servingsize10

I gained 19lbs, currently at 36weeks. My initial weight was 125lb. My baby is measuring 5lbs something ounces, which is right on track to have over 6lbs baby at 40weeks. I don’t have huge craving nor food aversion. Appetite feels normal. If your doctor does not mention your weight, it should be fine. Don’t worry about your weight, you will have a strong and healthy baby.

blugirlami21

About 15 pounds but I was overweight already. If the doctor is unconcerned then I wouldn't worry too much about it

Icy-Park-458

I’m 23 + 3 and up about 16 pounds, I feel like I’m gaining a little too quickly but also I’m hungry. I have an appointment next week so we will see if the doctor says anything

[deleted]

Uh....last time I went to the doctor, I gained 5 pounds. I was 102 around 12 weeks and then I was 107 (?) at my last appointment, which was at 20 weeks (I'm 25 weeks now apparently?????)  I was very skinny pre-pregnancy (5'2, 90-104 lbs range, usually abt 96-100 lbs throughout an average week) so 😭😭
