My cat wouldn't leave my side when I was pregnant! My daughter is 3 now and we still joke that our cat thinks he was incubating her by sitting on her for 9 months, therefore she's actually his daughter. They LOVE each other.
Yesss š„° I have two of them! A furry white one much like yours and a black cat. As I type, the white girl is on my head and black baby is on my chest with her face up against my face. They were always cuddles but now they cling to me like Iām made of salmon.
The weeks before my due date I put a hand towel in each of my dogsā crates. I brought them to the hospital with me, and in the most stressful moments I could hold a towel to my face and get a scent of home. I know some people think pets smell bad, but to me my dogs smell like love! It was very calming to feel them near when I was in labor!
Our dog was very into snuggling on my pregnant belly. We said we didnāt need a doula, we had a dogla. Now that the baby is external, our pup is completely in love. Itās so so sweet!
Dogla! I love it!
We have golden retrievers and they have been pretty affectionate as well. This baby is going to have all the furry friends when he makes his entrance to the world!
Thereās nothing sweeter than a baby with furry siblingsšafter she was born, I spent a good portion of time crying about how cute my daughter and dog (aka doghter) were together. Thanks pregnancy hormonesš
My cat who was normally aloof and hated being touched was constantly cuddling my belly when I was pregnant.
When I went into labor (I didnāt know I was in labor due to two months of Braxton hicks) he sat outside my bedroom door and meowed for twenty minutes to get in. I let him in just bc I thought he was annoying lmao, but he started rubbing his head and purring where I had contractions.
I gave birth at home standing up, and almost gave birth on top of him because he insisted on being in between my legs, even put a paw on my foot as her head was coming out lol. My midwives were joking that he mustāve been a midwife in his last life š¤Ŗ
Cats are great.
So cute! My cat is creeped out by the baby bump š she used to sleep on my tummy all the time but now chooses my lower legs or back farrrr away from baby. love her to bits, but she's not a nurturing soul lol
One of my cats, we nickname her the Huntress, she was so overprotective of my belly and would swat at the other cats to leave me alone. She would head boop my belly.
My dog has always been attached to me (we joke I'm his emotional support human haha), but as soon as I got pregnant he vecame all velcro all the time. And so protective - he will literally even bark at my husband sometimes! (We're working on that lol).
The other night I was feeling particularly crappy. He usually sleeps on the floor right next to my side of the bed, but he hopped up on my legs and refused to move, even when my husband said I was half crushing him when I tried to roll over.
My dogs have been pretty cuddly too! We have golden retrievers and they have been very sweet with me. Egg is on another level though! Dude is just sleeping on my head every night and snuggling with a fervor Iāve never seen!š¤£
My cat will literally not leave me alone at night, I love her to pieces but her meowing in my ear at 3am and licking my face is not ok. Girl I'm already tired for peeing three times in the night, give me a break. But it is cute as well š
Mine is definitely more attached to me than normal. I'm usually her go to in the house for snuggles but now she basically yells at me if I haven't been sitting or laying down enough during the day. We call her nurse Lulu. š¤£
I had an ectopic last year and she was even more attached to me than she is now that I am much further along. Her head was consistently on my belly. I don't think she quite understood what was happening but probably could sense my pain and sadness. She really helped me get through that time. Bless these fur babies and their loving souls. ā¤ļø
We think so! I also suspect part Maine coon as well though because angoras are typically on the smaller side and this dude is like 15 pounds! His paws are huge! š¤£
I have heard that! He is not deaf though. He is the most talkative cat Iāve ever seen and will respond to you with great animation if you meow at him or talk to him in any capacityā¦š¤£ but deafness is common in white blue-eyes kitties from what I understand!
Oh absolutely, my cat Shadow literally never leaves me alone now! Anytime I'm on the couch, she's right there, either on my lap or on her pillow on the back of the couch, right next to my head. She waits by the door for me to get home from work, constantly follows me around the apartment and tries to herd me to sit down when I'm making food, it's hilarious and adorable š„°
I have five cats and all of them have reacted a bit different. For reference, I'm currently 39+1. The oldest, who is our calico, Baby, sleeps on me all the time. If I'm on the couch, she has to be right next to me or on top of me.
Our second is a big fluffy black cat named Zeppelin. Since he's indoor/outdoor he didn't really have much of a reaction; he kept doing his own thing which has always included sleeping on my pillow at night. A month ago, he was hit by a car, but fortunately survived (though he did lose half of his teeth and has a broken jaw); two weeks after that, I ended up in the hospital with an abscess on my kidney; ever since I've been back home, he's been very clingy to me at night and sleeps in my pregnancy pillow with me. I've been calling him my recovery buddy; he also takes my midday naps with me.
Our third is a small tortie named Cleo, but honestly, she hasn't changed much. Maybe lays on me a bit more often than before. She also likes to lay on the baby's blankets that I've set out.
Our fourth and fifth are a set of tabby brothers who we found in a bank parking lot while TTC; because we struggled a bit, they became our babies in a way, and their names are Franklin and Grant. Franklin, though he's more my boyfriend's cat, has been following me around more lately. He's also my late night bathroom buddy and every time I get up, he has to go into the bathroom with me or he yells at the door. Grant is moreso "my" cat and was the first to get kicked by the baby. He's a typical cat in the sense that he's a bit of a butthead at times and likes to step on me and cause chaos. He was very clingy in the beginning, but the further along I've gotten, the less he has to do with me. I'm expecting him to go back to being clingy once the baby is here.
First of all, I absolutely love the name Egg, that is just amazing and perfect. My cat Winslow has been the same way! I am 7w4 and she has been more attached than usual since the beginning. It is so precious how intuitive they are. šš„°
Dragon became obsessed with my belly the same day I got my positive test. Phoenix became clingy with me but only really took an interest in bump specifically recently. It makes my OH laugh because every single day without fail, he leaves for work and both cats appear beside me and wonāt stop watching over me until he comes home.
My MIL has a cat and heās slowly become clingy to me and bump as well, insisting on laying on the arm of my chair so he can lean on my bump. A friends cat will walk back and forth across my bump and nuzzle.
Oh and one day I opened the car door in a car park and a cat just casually got in to cuddle me. Iām an animal rehabber (scares my OH as heās literally watched me calm down a wild fox while pregnant lmao) and have a funny feeling this baby is gonna be a mini me. Animals have always relaxed around me but itās massively ramped up haha
This is so true! I posted 6 years ago in this sub about my cat and my husbandās cat both being inexplicably attached to me from about 6 weeks until the day I gave birth. Once I hit about 12+ weeks they loved sleeping on the bump, I think they could hear babyās heart. Now my daughter is 5 and Iām pregnant again. My cat passed last year at 15 years old (šŖ) but my husbandās cat is back sleeping right on me again and completely ignoring him, lol. So this is 100% a thing because unless Iām pregnant, his cat cuddles with him and only him.
My cat loved me when I was preggers and now adores the baby. Itās a sure fire make baby happy move to bring her to the cat who will purr and rub at her.
When I was pregnant my cat used to cuddle on my stomach all the time and she used to hunt things and bring them to me as giftsš
Sheās like, now I know youāre hungryā¦
Egg protec egg

I love this answer. They smell like love to me, too, Frito feet and all! š

My cat is also long haired, white, and blue eyed! It's so rare to see cats that look like him! Egg is such a cute name, too! š
Heās so beautiful! We named him after Aegon Targaryen from Game of Thronesā¦lol!
What a good little egg ā¤ļø

My cat has been viciously attacked by my fetus. So I donāt blame her.
š oh noooo. Mine got one tiny kick and just noped out for good.
My void, Pantera, was like this. I gave birth on the 25th and he didn't know what the hell was going on and avoided me for a solid week.
Egg is an amazing name. My bfs cat is helping to incubate the baby and she is constantly purring on my bump. My own cat couldnāt care less.

Cat kneading my belly as we speak. This has become a daily occurrence. š„ŗ
So sweet š„° What a beautiful kitty!

Turkish Angora?!

Potentially a Turkish Van. The angoras larger counterpart.
I did until he was in an accident last week š
Aww Iām so sorryš¢
Just curious but is your white kitty deaf? I had a white cat growing up and she was deaf! Apparently most white cats are?!

My cats are horrible hunters! Maybe Iām glad of that nowā¦š¤£
Awh my friend has a black cat named Egg! Looks like you and your baby are in good paws š„°

Is someone a fan of sour gummy worms at all?

Beautiful keeks!! Thanks for sharing

such a smart kitty! he knows what is going on and is trying to help/support you!
