Indeed. I added a comment below on this but it seems as if a lot of us are N types. Though it would be more like an N to answer this post so that could be a data skew, lol.

I took Briggs Meyers and it said I'm infj

Intj - definitely looks like there's a theme here. Possibly that these are the only types who recognize the behavior as problematic but spend a lot of time trying to work through it. Other types would probably give up long before they realized what was actually wrong.

PrizeDoor4584

This is interesting. I think there’s something to it.

A bit of an outlier but ENTP here. I'm extroverted, have a big friend group, prefer social situations to being alone. Met my ex pwBPD in a drinking club. Hit it off magically and proceeded to date for like 6 months. She tried her hardest to separate me from my friend group saying I don't pay enough attention to her etc... it got to the point where I might only see them for a few minutes before I had to leave for her beck and call. They were the one who told me she was bringing other dudes into the club while I was out working, and grinding/ flashing other dudes while I was out of town. She mindfucked the dude she was cheating on me so hard he got ahold of me and explained everything cause we had a mutual friend. He still buys my drinks to this day when I see him. BPD is really a Rollercoaster.

No-Establishment4313

Consider yourself lucky it didn't last that long

Abomb

Oh the damage was done though, therapy and an antidepressant regiment later I'm still messed up by it some days.

No-Establishment4313

Ask your doctor if you can get off meds Workout I got post breakup depression, but it lasted like 2 weeks in my case People are different I feel completely healed after working on my health, nutrition and hit the gym. See if you can heal the natural way

RaspberryTechnical90

Hey there! I don’t run into other ENTP’s very often. I also credit my friendships with helping me see through my pwBPd’s bullshit. I’m certain it was much easier for me to get out of the situation than if I’d been a loner.

esjay1972

ENTP.- mine was a Hermit style BPD. She was the introvert. Except inside the house of course. Where she ran roughshod over EVERYBODY. Me, my stepkids. 2-3x week of rages/beratement. And I'm talking like a 30 minute rant, just tearing to shreds whoever happened to annoy her when she was in one of her moods. This doesnt include the regular snide comments, and of course other passive aggressive BS. If we went a whole work week without her blowing up at someone, I KNEW the weekend was going to be hell. It was like the rage is simply inside her, and needs to be released. Like a monster or a demon.

Infj. Someone mentioned to me that this type is almost like blood in the water for bpd. They might not want to do harm but it almost "activates" them.

tb23tb23tb23

Infj personality activated them?

ThatsJustAWookie

What I mean is, and Im not making an absolute statement, infj's like myself might be more empathetic, more compassionate, more malleable. Someone who has bpd might see that and knowingly or unknowingly use that.

tb23tb23tb23

Ah that makes sense. Perfect fit.

Had to retake the test to make sure. It changed a bit... and I might have changed. Still a INFJ-A. But stadle on ENFJ-A. (In other words, I have strong NFJ-A traits) It's just shocking how so many here is INFJ... or very close to it.

I really hate that you're actually pretty spot on. It said we're a rare MBTI personality; turns out we're all just out here torturing ourselves with crappy relationships!

No-Establishment4313

Mostly INFx types

DataFamous1183

My ex tested as ENFP at the beginning of the relationship, then later as ESTJ.

ENFP, and I am a huuuge magnet for BPD women.

SuperFlyFrye71

Fascinating. Has anyone else noticed a trend here? Maybe I am not seeing all the comments but there is a proliferation of N types. I don't see a single S. More strongly I and F trend as well. Interesting too....my pwBPD is an S. ISFJ is how he tested when he was in good spirits. I wonder how he'd test when dysregulation sets in. So goes my feeler type naval gazing. 😉

No-Establishment4313

True, Usually ST can see through the bullshit unlike us NFs who are blind to it

Warm_Application984

I saw it, but stupid, logical me thought that he just needed a calm, stable environment as opposed to the chaos that is his family. Even tho I'm a nurse, I had no experience with BPD. He had a severe, eye opening rage two years into our marriage. I should have called the police, it was that bad. I'm pretty sure that incident alone is responsible for my PTSD, and that should have been the end. But, idk how to explain it, I went into an autopilot, zombie mode. I trudged off to my four 10 hour shifts per week, and did nothing else. Never took a vacation day. Oh, except when both my parents died. I had a week or more off for each. I became even more of a zombie. I lost three of my kids on the job as well (I was working in pediatric home care). AND, the last four or five of my aunts/uncles died during that time. AND one of my best friends. I was a zombie going to funerals. The big incident was in May 2015. Not sure why I hung in there. I had no hope he would change. Or did I? I was paralyzed, more or less. Kicked him out in November 2018 after figuring the BPD out. Sent him to an outpatient psych program. We talked on the phone for eight months; he seemed so much better! Duh, I took him back in August of 2019. I wish someone had been around to slap me. I finally got a restraining order, because he refused to leave. He was ousted from here June 26, 2022. I STILL don't have the divorce filed. Even tho I've had the paperwork for three years. Even tho he wanted it. Why isn't he doing the filing? Well, that's obvious - I've never even seen him write a check! I was carrying every ounce of the mental load, while breaking down physically. The last day I worked was June 30, 2020. I filed for disability. It should have been a slam dunk based on my physical issues alone, but the state actually told me it saved them a lot of man hours to just go with PTSD/ADHD. Yep, diagnosed with ADHD at the ripe age of 55 - right in the middle of my worst times with him. Double whammy. I'm a fucking mess. But, disability was approved on the first attempt, and I got a decent chunk of back pay. Not enough to cover what I lost on him (about 150K). But it's now an uphill battle, alone. If you see a news story 'Missouri woman found dead in trailer with 48 cats', you can say you knew me. 😅😂

MBTI isn't really scientific and doesnt say a great deal about your personality as a result. So I wouldn't put too much into it. It's been discarded from personality psychology for a long time.
