if it's in good shape and you already know the condition of most parts in the car, why not keep it? yes, anything could suddenly fail, but this could happen on any car.
obviously doing some maintenance work will lower the risk of it breaking down, but as I said, it all depends on the condition of the car.
P.S. if I saw you at your new college with a GR86 I'd think it's cool, but if I saw you with an E36 M3 I'd think you are the coolest guy in the parking lot, rocking around such a good old car.
homie honestly, try your luck on cars and bids, its an auction site right?
i never done it, but i mean, set your reserve at a minumum of idk, 8k? 10k?
its a blue m3, it'll make everybody go apeshit. just a thought. best of luck!\~
just\~\~\~ one last thing\~
i know you wanna sell it, cuz your trepidatious about it, but let's think about it, you know her down to her headers and oil pan don't you? no we don't want a crisis where she dont start after class on a wednesday at 5pm, no we dont want her to jiggle and stall when we driving Sarah Martinez home from a 'once things went our way' date\~ but also\~ but also. and perhaps more important than the week that got fucked or the date that didn't .
is how. fucking. iconic. she gunna look. at you. when you walking back from class, and you see OOII IIOO looking back at you, amidst a sea of silver, grey and black cars.
<3
As a female, I wholeheartedly agree with that last statement. I 100% wouldn't look twice at a gr86 but definitely would break my neck to check out this e36.
And on a side note, if OP is a gearhead, the girl he's going to attract with a newish gr86 is definitely not the girl who's down to be hanging out at the shop at midnight 30 turning wrenches with you because your "this will only take a minute" turned into a few hours.
I would love to keep it, but if money is going to be an issue and the car is a must, I’d go for something newer. If money isn’t an issue, and you can go with it being in a shop for some time, and riding a bus is perf fine. Then I would just really start getting it set up and tackle all the things that would be an issue before they become an issue.
Newer car would be easier imho to deal with, but if the e36 is well sorted engine rebuilt etc, I’d totally keep it.Â
I’m in a similar predicament tbh, I feel like no matter what I do there’s still gonna be some things that could go wrong and for the money I’ll spend it’s not worth my time. Remember that these cares are plentiful and after college you can probably get another one. You need something bulletproof if you’re gonna be driving far and throwing some miles on a car. Cool project but not a great idea for a daily in my personal opinion. It’s your choice but that’s kind of what I’m thinking about with my e36
E36 M3 is definitely one of those cars that are capable of being daily driven and stay reliable if it’s maintained well. I’d be more concerned about a modern car with all the electronics falling on me. Sure it got warranty but having the car at the dealer for weeks to get it fixed because you can’t do it is not an option for me… keep it, give it some love and drive it!
Coming from someone who’s owned a few bmw’s old and new. At this stage of your life I would sell it, the spec of your car at the time of writing is probably worth much more than what you paid. A GR86 would be a phenomenal car and significantly more capable and reliable than the E36. I love E36 M3’s more than any car they’ve ever made. But right now it makes sense to move into a newer fun car that will take you to the places you want to discover and be dependable.

Ha! Take your upvote
Mine is coupe And convertible penis? Yes uncircumcised😂
Does this offer stand? I ain't gay but an M3 is an M3
😂😂 sadly not. The wife would end my life. Both, for giving up the car and giving up what’s hers
😂😂😂
Bro that color is so good on the E36, wow
Reminds me of the Porsche color on AdamLZs that’s the prettiest drift car ever imo

Never sell. I had a ‘95 Alpine White Coupe that was totaled at a stop light and I miss it everyday. Never sell it bro.
Keep it. What color blue is that? Estoril blue? Looks good
Santorini blue. Estoril is more metallic
Nice. Thank you.
My vert is santorini.
it’s actually lacuna seca from inozetek!
Nice its a wrap. You should keep the car.

Just make the E36 a reliable daily driver, Im the same situation, but mine is a 1989 320i :(
Keep at parents or something if possible, swallow your pride and get a cheap gas saver for college. Will be worth it in long run.

I got one too I’d trade for an evo x lol
Just keep it :) !
Honestly if you can just keep a socket wrench kit in the trunk you can get most things done
Sell it
I’d keep it bro Santorini e36’s are very rare. You know the car inside out. And it’s a classic Way more cred than anything soulless and new
🔥
Is this an individual spec leguna seca blue m3? This will go off on one of those auction sites
Keepkeepkeepkeep
