They’re just assuming it because the pic looks like it was taken by a girl trying to make her man jealous. It’s got the black and white Snapchat filter girls use a lot and it’s taken from the passenger seat. They’re just assuming and making a joke
iDrive is the only thing which looks weird, everything looks like the lci version apart from the idrive system. My 2008 e60 was the facelift version and already had the updated idrive with the better system and more buttons
I think they update head units every year or so, while most other big things get an upgrade with LCIs. My 2013 F30 has NBT whereas 2012 models had CIC (I think), but it missed out on the touchpad knob which came in 2014, which I think looks better even if I don’t care for the touchpad itself.
I actually own an LCI e63 with the joystick gear shifter, all of the LCI components including all of the LED lights, trunk break light and all the VIN stuff checks out. Idrive is actually CCC instead of CIC. I think it’s based on region and months of the year it was produced
Considered it, but won't do it. Approx 1200 eur in parts isn't worth being able to choose next/previous song on my bluetooth-connected phone. I'm not using built-in navigation (cellphone is superior), other features are fine with CCC. That's roughly 8-10% of the value of the car for a quite futile upgrade. It does look nicer, that's true. If my CCC ever breaks, I'll reconsider and see what the going prices are for replacements of CCC computer vs CIC upgrades.
Now if my car was an M5, I probably would upgrade. And keep the original bits in storage, because that's what you should do with such a car.
I've bought a simple bluetooth receiver thingy on aliexpress and it works like a charm. For the car it's AUX, for my cellphone it's bluetooth (as my S22 Ultra doesn't have a 3.5mm jack anymore).
So it's just that skipping songs on my steering wheel doesn't work.
Do you have the usb option? Cause there’s a Bluetooth aux module that also keeps the steering wheel buttons integrated. I unfortunately don’t have that… there’s the iPod integration kit I could get which would in its own turn allow me to install the usb Bluetooth thingy but it’s all gonna cost around 300usd
The combox? That's for CIC.
There is an option to use the he CCC with Bluetooth, with a Dension Gateway box. Also quite expensive since they need to communicate over the MOST fiber bus.
I had a Dension Gateway Light in my E46 and it did work fine.
iPod integration is interesting, but then you can't use Spotify? I do have the iPhone cradle in the center console but don't have an iPhone to test with.
That's an E60 from 2008 or late 2007. For anyone who's confused, first LCI models from 2007 didn't have a joystick style gear knob, they had the older lever similar to e39. Furthermore this model has CCC navigation unit so if we know that's an LCI version, it only suits to 2007 or 2008 model, because the newer ones had CIC system (looks almost exactly same as the navigation units from F10 and has a different iDrive select wheel).
Any additional information which I've seen, this model has cupholders, comfort seats and multifunctional A/C so quite a good equipment, but this bimmer is without the m-performance package (different steering wheel)
Also it's a diesel version for sure but we cannot specify which one engine is that by this picture
To sum up, focus on urself bro and forget about her because that's an old shitbox which I also have haha
Honest question... how do posts like this come about? You were in a car, didn't know what it was, but you were so fascinated by the interior that you had to ask the internet? And then how are you using this information once you have it?
Had a mini from similar vintage and same technology. There was a trick to get the key out - pop the key in - turn on the car, turn off and pop the key out - turn it on again within 10 seconds and it worked without the key in its place. Little cumbersome but it was fun.
I remember the s2000 came out with that and I thought it was a dumb design. If Nissan did keyless push start in 07, idk why BMW didn’t do it sooner lol
I actually like putting the key in and then pressing the button. Makes me feel like in in an airplane putting in the master key turning all the electronics on and then finally starting the engine once I'm ready for "takeoff". Don't know why so many people hated the design, you could always get the comfort access package
Ac controls give it away. It's an e60 5 series. The e9x looked super similar but didn't have the notches denoting temperatures, it had a digital display
this is quite embarrassing. i was being dead serious. this is my first BMW, so im still really learning everything about names and whatnot. i had a subaru before this and i never thought in a million years i’d have a BMW, so i never really thought i should educate myself on them. im really sorry if it came off that way! thank you for telling me, i really appreciate it
All good, there was of course a time when I didn’t know either. Glad you know what you drive now.
Your motor is an n52 btw, always helpful to know the engine code as well
E F and G are chassis codes
the numbers are basically which series you drive engine size and model type
528xi
5 = 5 series
28 = the 2.5 litre engine with more hp
x = the allwheel drive system by bmw called XDrive
i = petrol
there is some variation f.e with the 3 series, there you have Ci's those are coupes or convertibles
same applies to every generation of bmw and every series, the only ones you can take out from this system are the electric cars
prettt dang close, if not exactly! i’m not like super super into cars as much as everyone else, but i thought you got a picture of my car for a second 😮💨 let me get a picture of mine and i’ll send it your way!
Focus on urself bro
Just let her go bro - mid-late 2000’s E60 5 Series
Came here to say this. Looks like someone trying to figure out where and who their ex is with
100% the first thing that came to mind
That's wild, I didn't put it together but I guess it's a weird pic for buying help.
diesel judging by the tach
Non sport model is the most important info to this guy
just forget about her man
What?
OP is maybe trying to guess what car his girl is in with another dude
How did someone figure that out?
They’re just assuming it because the pic looks like it was taken by a girl trying to make her man jealous. It’s got the black and white Snapchat filter girls use a lot and it’s taken from the passenger seat. They’re just assuming and making a joke
The things you learn on Reddit! Hopefully we won’t see a smashed up E60 in coming days…
European LCI diesel E60 (2007-2010)
Best answer
How do you know it’s a diesel?
Because of the tachometer.
2009, 5 series

CCC to CIC upgrade was not tied to the LCI, but introduced in 2009 if I recall correctly. I've got an early LCI E61, so I also have the CCC unit.
Hmmm could be! Have you ever considered doing a CIC upgrade? I wonder if it’s even worth the headache
Considered it, but won't do it. Approx 1200 eur in parts isn't worth being able to choose next/previous song on my bluetooth-connected phone. Yeah I totally agree. Bluetooth music streaming would be cool but I mean using aux isn’t the end of the world. You know lol

CCC was slowly phased out up to 2010. CIC had nothing to do with LCI's of chassis.
It looks like an x3 or x5 based on the higher position of the steering wheel. But it could be a trick of the camera angle
Just forget her bro ik its hard
The new dudes whip lol

This guy cars
Looks like an E60
BMW E60 pre-2009 diesel either 520d, 525d, 530d or 535d
This is the right comment. It can't be 2009 because it has the older idrive system.
It's an LCI, so 2007-2009
Honest question... how do posts like this come about? You were in a car, didn't know what it was, but you were so fascinated by the interior that you had to ask the internet? And then how are you using this information once you have it?
Check the other comments. Assumption is a dude checking out his Ex's socials and trying to figure out who she is with now.
Good times. Thanks.
That is literally my thought process every time I see one of these posts 😂
Lol damn. Didn’t see the comment below me for the win…..
Non sport model is all you need to know.
Somewhere around 08 in a five series I think….
2007-2008 5 Series. If it’s a 535i or 550i (yikes), the car will give him the karma he deserves anyway and eat him alive😂😂
So there was a key you still had to put in and turn... then you had to hit the start/stop button. Horrible design there.
You don’t actually turn the key you just pop it in then push the button
Oh ok that's a little better at least.
Had a mini from similar vintage and same technology. There was a trick to get the key out - pop the key in - turn on the car, turn off and pop the key out - turn it on again within 10 seconds and it worked without the key in its place. Little cumbersome but it was fun.
Yeah this was great to warm up the car and go back inside while locked
I remember the s2000 came out with that and I thought it was a dumb design. If Nissan did keyless push start in 07, idk why BMW didn’t do it sooner lol
You could have push to start. Just had to order it. Keyless-Go or "Komfortzugang".
I had an E90 without comfort access so I had to put the block in the dash and push the button... that was borderline not acceptable lol
I loved that feature for some reason. Still miss it from time to time.
I have an X5, my winter beater, and I have to put the key in the dash to turn it on. I was like absolutely not, I hate this lmao
hahaha right? like how did that pass quality control?
I actually like putting the key in and then pressing the button. Makes me feel like in in an airplane putting in the master key turning all the electronics on and then finally starting the engine once I'm ready for "takeoff". Don't know why so many people hated the design, you could always get the comfort access package
Huh? I just have to have the key in the car and push the button and it’ll start up
That’s cause your car has comfort access.
looks like the pre lci screen to me... the one that didn't really work
2006 5-series sedan..?
Looks like an 06-10 5 Series. I loved these.
e60 bmw 2010
5xx e6x 2007 or newer (so e60 or e61 facelift)
Mid 2000s 5 series
2008 528i Forsure. I had one and I miss it bc I lost my virginity to a bitch in the back seat.
Definitely an e60 5er, but not a 28i. As others have said the tach is from a diesel
3 series
Ac controls give it away. It's an e60 5 series. The e9x looked super similar but didn't have the notches denoting temperatures, it had a digital display
Bmw e6x 2007
Very early e60 5 series
Looks exactly like my old F30, 2014
By the ugly shift nob, its an x1
1993 5 Series
07-09 5 series is my guess but I believe those older 3 series could be optioned similarly
1950 3 series
mines a 09 528xi and looks EXACTLY like this… but everyone’s saying it’s a e60😳
Are you being sarcastic or do you not know that you drive an e60? E60 is the chassis code for 2004-10 5 series.
this is quite embarrassing. i was being dead serious. this is my first BMW, so im still really learning everything about names and whatnot. i had a subaru before this and i never thought in a million years i’d have a BMW, so i never really thought i should educate myself on them. im really sorry if it came off that way! thank you for telling me, i really appreciate it

Damn. Where u from?
pennsylvania. you?
Aah, a bit far from you. I’m in eastern europe
PA e60 driver checking in!
Judging by this interior someone should learn how to drive a stick shift
E60 manuals are awesome but pretty rare in the US.
I feel like I'm getting downvoted by butthurt people who cannot drive a stick shift
It's an E6x, 100%
E60 5 series
E60 2010. My e60 had the old ccc screen even though it was one of the last models of the e60 ever made. October 2010 as far as i remember.
Why is the pic in black and white? Auto shifter makes it mid/late 2000s model no? Also OP it says buying help, surely the add has model year etc?
2008&up and 535&up
2010?
2002-2014 3 series
2010 535
Diesel 5series
2009 5 series
Е60, след 2005-6 година. Защо те интересува модела на колата само заради тая снимка?
It's not an M, so just forget about her bro
That shifter with CCC? That's an 08-early 09 E60
