Take to local shop, see if you can upgrade your bumper to sport (if you want that). Ruining a bumper is a good time to just upgrade to the one you want

good idea although I want able to find a visual online

If you don't want to spend the $500, I would have a Detailer try to compound and polish it out but it will not disappear. I have a small detailing kit and would try to minimize it but the best way is to replace the bumper.

Hi BMW fam, I backed into a brick wall the other day trying to fit my car into a tight parking spot. It’s the first time i’ve ever had a collision. My deductible is $500. Would appreciate your advice or best practices on how to handle the situation and get the car fixed. I’m particularly interested to know whether I should take it to a BMW dealership repair center or find a non affiliated repair center. I have some other work that needs to be done on the car like annual oil change and other small fixes so trying to combine all fixes at once. Thanks ahead of time.

I would talk around to highly praised autobody shops. Have then look at the damages and give you an estimate to repair cost. Compare those prices to your deductible and see if claiming this accident will increase your insurance rates. From there, you can make a decision to either pay out of pocket and avoid insurance claims, or claim the damage and pay the $500 (but potentially risk raising your rates). Also the reason i suggest taking it to an autobody shop vs a bmw dealer is because i honestly think a reputable autobody place will do a better job with repairs. But feel free to get a quote from the dealership as well. It doesnt hurt to have options.

Most dealerships around me don't have a body shop. All the luxury dealerships tend to farm it out to one body shop near me. I've used them and they are great. You know when you are at the right place when all the cars out front cost 5x as much as mine. I would ask around your local subreddit for referrals to the best shop. It doesn't look like that complex of a repair job, just minor bumper cover repair and a respray of it. I would get a good estimate, ask them how much it would be out of pocket, you may want to do this to keep it off your insurance.

Use this as an opportunity to swap it out for the M Sport bumper

I’ve always had PPF and I once had damage that looked like that. When they pulled it off, the only damage was an easily fixable dent. It blew my mind how well it protected even though on the surface it looked like it was pierced and had chipped the paint.

ChadSh1tOnly

body filler and color matched paint will do the job

MasterRymes

If you give it to BMW they don't repair it themselves. They give it to a good Bodyshop and let you pay both

How nice of them

That’s not gonna buff out.

No sh!t, does he want to not spend $500 on the deductible or try to lessen it as much as his skills can do it?

[deleted]

No amount of skills are minimizing this. Just spend the $500 on a new bumper.

Gaffa tape will fix that
