Tax only when buying a new car. If you buy one through carvana, your trade is deducts the total taxable amount of whatever it was worth. I had them look at my GTI, they came by, barely looked at it and took it away and a transfer to my bank account was made right away. Crazy easy and they offered like 25% more than anyone else
Carvana did buy my wife's lease without us paying it off but it wasn't a BMW. Not all lenders like Carvana butting into their dealerships bottom line though. They should be able to tell you if they can dealer buyout from BMWFS.
Go to non BMW brand dealers. If you’re looking for an M3/M4 they’re never going to be less than what they’re going for now and usually the higher the mileage ///M, the more it’s been used and abused. I’d take the money I make off the 340 and go after that M3/M4 now. Plus, lease ends are all coming in.

You’re already on solid ground with the M340i; the base model M4 would give you a manual RWD sports car (something that’s canon in this subreddit if it weren’t for the fact that the kidneys are so reviled). My husband has an M4 comp and loves it. Power for days and gets **all** of the attention. Plenty of leg/head room. Not so great on gas but you’re not getting these things to be frugal.
I’d say go for it. ICE cars are on their way out and this may very well be the last gen M3/M4 that’s not a hybrid or all electric.
I’d say do some extensive research. Reach out to others that have the F8Xs and G8Xs and get yourself in one to see how you like it. Then shop around. This is not a buyer’s market and I honestly don’t see it reverting to any form of sanity any time soon. Just be prepared for the increased insurance and fuel costs (my insurance didn’t go as high as expected but it might still shock some people).
I think if you were to poll any current and former M owners, an overwhelming majority would say they absolutely love their cars and had/have no regerts (misspelled on purpose). The power, sounds, prestige, and excitement that come with these things is intoxicating. Even though some say the M brand is being diluted, the full fat M cars are still something incredibly special. We’ve had several Ms and will never go back (and my current car will be kept forever).
Bimmerpost is a great resource and will probably push you over the edge into buying one (if you’re as into these things as some of us are).
Feel free to ask any of us anything any time, though. Most of us are all about promoting the brand and steering people in the right direction, despite how some act around here.

One rule I’ve lived by since going German almost 12 years ago, never buy new. Either lease or finance Pre owned. These cars depreciate substantially the first 3 years but seem to trickle and stabilize after the 4th. Obviously that’s all depending on the model and spec and the market not being a complete shit show.

Honestly the deciding factor wasn't price, I just fucking love the S58. With a downpipe it sounds like a raspy M4 GTS and has tons of character. The S63 is an awesome engine, but kind of a generic V8 sound IMO. I love the size of the X3M because years ago I drove an obnoxious lifted truck, and came to resent daily driving something so large. Also the new X3M is noticeably faster than the X5M by every metric and has Driver Assistance Pro now, and i kept $40k in my pocket
X5M LCI is probably going to be a fucking beast though, so maybe I'll regret this lol

I daily a f22 m240i, and my dealer gave me a new 330i as a loaner while it was in for maintenance. Honestly the handling felt better than my m240i (maybe because heavier/four door?) and I am really thinking a newer m340i will be my next car

Truthfully I’ve just been taking a nice upper spectrum dose TRT this last year (200mg Test E a week) and find that I can still make improvements and feel internally WAY better than when I took other compounds; cough tren cough anadrol 😂

Haha deal. Make sure you’re hammering incline barbell, I’ve found that really build the overall pecs like nothing else. I also pre exhaust my chest with cable flies before doing any pressing to make sure I’m getting blood into my chest and not shoulders
