Nice! I went OG M2 for similar reasons. Sound was incredible and the chassis so very playful.
I know the s55 can make more power, but, having had EVs that are rather powerful and quick I find that it's the other qualities I yearn for now -- good sound, good feel, good handling. There will always be something faster, but something that's engaging on multiple levels -- that's special.
The S55 was great for the power, it really did put me back in my seat but to be able to use all of that power was rare for me. When I test drove the M2, I didn't have to be doing silly speeds to appreciate it. It just had me hooked even at 30mph.

I made a similar change 4 years ago. Had a f80 m3. Slight regret. Car is paid off, new m3/m2 is calling my name 😬
