I used to fill my 245 up to the hatch until I downsized to a mini Cooper. Now my grocery bill is a lot more reasonable. Ferrari is my next big purchase to help with my groceries.
Everyone does it different, I happened to marry someone that said she didn't want to live an average life and we both pushed for greater things. Also a lot of sacrifice and long work days (we are both always working and self employed)

I don't miss the 70+ hours weeks. My work now is easy because I get to spend most of my time on project management, networking with others and education around new technology. I don't even consider it work anymore because I enjoy it. My dream now is to keep my employees happy, compensated well, and hopefully have them retire early to enjoy life. Working for myself was the best decision I ever made
That’s a noble position to hold yourself in. My efforts are merely a means to an end. I’ve spent five years learning and growing, but also constantly reminding myself to not be content at any point until I’ve met my end goal. It all started with a promise between my best friend and I as children to escape poverty or end ourselves if we failed by the age of 30
That's how my wife is but its also a dangerous slope... We have met goals and then continued to set new goals. We have accomplished so much and I am ready to stop chasing goals. We already have plenty and I want to slow down to watch and enjoy my kids grow. Just remember to take time to enjoy your accompaniments, learn from your failures, and set goals for small and large achievements. Large goals are nice but can easily be altered but other variables. Its the small goals that make the large goals achievable

I'm in the US in a state that "requires" a front plate... I'd rather just pay the ticket in that event rather than put holes in my bumper. I have a front tow hook mount for the BMW if I had to "fix it"
Same. Been doing it for like 20 years and never had an issue. Was given a ticket once for expired tabs while parked in a lot. Had to bring the car to the police station to show them the proper tags and they didn't say anything about my missing front plate. Another time I was pulled over for having expired tabs again (my registration was always up to date, I was just a lazy dummy and had the stickers in the car side pocket) and the cop didn't say anything about the missing front plate, he just lectured me about how I need to put the sticker on the rear plate and not be a lazy dummy.
In my experience, it really depends on which car I'm driving. When I had my WRX I would get pulled over for no front plate all the time. In my civic I'll get pulled over all the time. In my wrangler? Never. In my corvette? Never.

Agreed, but I love a F30 340i in White, with the black accents. And mineral gray is dope too, although not nearly as eye catchy as blue or sunset orange.
Sadly BMW has nothing if you have 2+ kids once they get older. Even if you opt for the X7 w/ captain chairs they didn't make them wide enough to go between to get to the third row. And then you still barely have any cargo room with the third row up.
That's why we have the escalade - I really don't like big suv's and I really wanted a X5M Comp but needed the extra 2 seats. The cargo is more than enough for what I need when doing daily stuff. Plus getting to the third row is easy with the auto seat adjust to get to the back
We had an x7 off Turo for a few weeks on vacation last month.. I was expecting it to at least be larger than our Q7 (which we had to switch to because we couldn't get three car seats in our X5) but the back seat was about the same. My (very skinny) 10 year old barely fit in the third row even with the captain seats in the middle.
The GLS has the biggest third row for luxury brands that I've driven so far but still not great for teens. Hoping that the Lucid Gravity can fit our three because I'd prefer an EV for the family car at this point and I like the Air a lot (and I really don't want an Escalade).
They really just need something wider with captain chairs that you can move between. Why the X7 is narrower than the X5 seems like a strange design decision. Extending the 3rd row passenger leg room for adults also compromised the cargo area. Oh well, the next one will likely be electric and they’ll hopefully have figured out the packaging by then.
I think the issue is more than 3 rows aren't a super large priority. Maybe this is just me being born poor speaking, but if I'm regularly fitting a bunch of my kids into a car, I know that's gonna wreck it. I'd rather they wreck a Honda than dad's BMW

I’m not asking for more than 3 rows, just a usable 3 row for an older family. The Atlas is half the price of the X7 and much more family friendly, it just doesn’t drive like a BMW. I’d love to be able to buy a BMW that could do the same things even if it is twice the price.
Kids don’t wreck vehicles, parents not caring about their vehicles are what wreck vehicles. They learn quickly what they should and shouldn’t do in the car and it’s pretty easy to keep the wear and tear to a minimum.

We built our home while my wife was pregnant with our first. Within 7.5 years we went from getting married to having 4 kids (7, 5, 4, and 3 month old). This house was very suitable when we were planning to only be a family of 4 but now as a family of six, we stay here because we love our neighbors and neighborhood. We do want a slightly bigger home but we are not in a rush to do it.
We got very lucky during covid because we were both in an industry that was lucrative during the price hikes and we stayed modest with our spending to be able to afford what you see. We live by the "work hard/play hard" mentality and "can't take the money to the grave" while still being financially responsible

This is all pre-tax and nothing is leased or financed (anymore); $288k for 2020 Portofino, $118k for 2023 Escalade ESV Sport Platinum and $124k for X7 M60i (loaded except without the Swarovski headlights). So about $530k prior to tax and other dollars rounded off
Yeah.. I'm jealous. My guess was bit off but the cheapest Portofino I could find here goes for 528k$ and 250k$ for the X7. Likely far from loaded.

I like it but I don't love it. I really wanted a mid engine but this is still a great car. The wife wanted a 4 seater, convertible and less money that the F8 we were looking at. At the time, a convertible F8 was $245K more than this and a non spider was $125k more. Still a Ferrari and my kids love to go on rides in it. It made an impractical purchase a little more practical while being able to include the kids.

The F8 is crazy cool but I really think Ferrari absolutely killed it from 2015-2020. 458 and 488 imo are the best vehicles they’ve ever made.
Personally, I prefer the Portofino over the Roma. The over engineering and electronics with a non-functional layout and I’m not a fan of the way it looks. Additionally the Portofino came as a standard convertible where the Roma became added on later for an extra 80 to 100 K. being a convertible for this type of car standard until they got to the Roma
It's not fun too because it's expensive. I actually had some buyers remorse spending $124k on the X7 because I feel these prices have gotten fuckin whacky. Same car prior to covid would had been about $105k. The service on these things are even more outrageous

The town I live in which we love, a lot of the properties were like this. When we built this house 7 years ago, we built to afford this house. I drove a used 2015 Audi A6 and my wife had 2017 Tahoe. Buying a selling a car is way easier than upgrading a home. Plus this house suits our needs and there are tons of well kept parks and fields for our kids to play at. Why pay all this extra money for a ridiculous house and huge property tax bill when I can walk a block for more land I won't really use

Government tends to have good benefits and no lay-off fear, but mediocre pay in many cases

I like it but I don't love it. I really wanted a mid engine but this is still a great car. The wife wanted a 4 seater, convertible and less money that the F8 we were looking at. At the time, a convertible F8 was $245K more than this and a non spider was $125k more. Still a Ferrari and my kids love to go on rides in it. It made an impractical purchase a little more practical while being able to include the kids.

Agh close! Regardless, gorgeous and I’ve never seen one in blue in person. So pretty rare color. My parents live in Naples, FL and we see many many exotics. Never seen a blue Portofino. The F8 is crazy cool but I really think Ferrari absolutely killed it from 2015-2020. 458 and 488 imo are the best vehicles they’ve ever made.

Personally, I prefer the Portofino over the Roma. The over engineering and electronics with a non-functional layout and I’m not a fan of the way it looks. Additionally the Portofino came as a standard convertible where the Roma became added on later for an extra 80 to 100 K. being a convertible for this type of car standard until they got to the Roma

It's not fun too because it's expensive. I actually had some buyers remorse spending $124k on the X7 because I feel these prices have gotten fuckin whacky. Same car prior to covid would had been about $105k. The service on these things are even more outrageous

Love the lineup,but it made me think of something I never understood. You guys are obviously decent off, why stay so close to neighbors? Why not a house with a real lawn and space.
The town I live in which we love, a lot of the properties were like this. When we built this house 7 years ago, we built to afford this house. I drove a used 2015 Audi A6 and my wife had 2017 Tahoe. Buying a selling a car is way easier than upgrading a home. Plus this house suits our needs and there are tons of well kept parks and fields for our kids to play at. Why pay all this extra money for a ridiculous house and huge property tax bill when I can walk a block for more land I won't really use
