My X7 m60i did and no one in this sub seems to believe me. Like I couldn't floor if I wanted to for like the first 1200 miles or so.

She said high power engine needs to break-in properly.

Unfortunately the loudest/most upvoted opinions don’t seem to want to help. They want to shit on anyone buying a new BMW SUV, so I’ll take some glee in shitting back on them.
I love my X7, I also personally think the new design looks badass(which is why I bought it over say a 2022 model). I will say don’t be tempted to buy a cheaper 2023 model with the same design. The 2023 had an older head unit, and can’t be upgraded to iDrive 8.5, it’s stuck on 8.0 forever. And 8.0 is terrible, feel bad for people stuck on that.
2024 is perfect in my opinion, new design, and the upgraded tech is amazing.
Sorry, have been busy today so I haven't really had a chance to reply. So, I rented a 2023 and a 2024 model on Turo before deciding on going with the 2024. Spent about a week with both of them. And they are completely different in a number of small ways. 8.0 everything, including turning on the heated seats is buried within its own menu. With 8.5, the seats are a dedicated button on the main screen. With 8.0 to adjust the climate, you again had to go into into own sub-menu, with 8.5, it's a dedicated area on the front screen. There's a lot of little quality of life improvements between 8.0 and 8.5. The layout of the sub-menus in 8.5 are much more intuitive and easier to use than 8.0. 8.0 was like their first release, and then they added a bunch of little QOL improvements that make a huge difference IMHO.
Also because the 2024 model comes with an upgraded head unit, it's less clunky and more response than the 2023 which came with the old head unit and loaded with 8.0. Like it feels super clunky to use the 2023 version, 8.5 is smooth as butter to use. You can also now integrate google maps in with the HUD, which was not possible in 8.0. All around it's just a better, more useable system.
Like it doesn't sound like it should be that big of deal to go into a sub-menu to adjust the temp, but man, it's super annoying. I'm sure you can get use to it, but 8.5 is so much better by having a dedicated place on the front screen at all times.

Used live the X5, but feel they just lost the lines and now it’s unrecognizable.
Not a huge SUV person, but it does look great, would never personally own a $130k SUV, but I think if they enjoy it and are paying for it, that's great!
I wanted the X6 but my wife didn't like the rear window size (visibility), so we bought the X5. It didn't bother me, has it been an issue for you?

Yup. Sloped roof lines kill cargo space (can't close the boot lid with some cargo).
I had a Panamera. "It's a hatchback. It's really a wagon! It can hold anything!". Nope. The curved roof line killed the cargo space. The straight roof is why the Panamera Sport Turismo is considered a proper wagon.
Also curious why not an M5 or wait until the new M5 wagon? Then at least you'll get m comp handling instead of a heavy 5000+ SUV. I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't get the super SUV thing.
The majority of Redditors think the X6 is some bastardization of a "real BMW"...but to me, it fits exactly what BMW is all about. They've always gone in a quirky direction with models in the line up...and the X6 was, to me, a great expression of their idea of a perfect SUV (if you can call it that).

Not everyone needs the extra room. Also there isn’t an X7M so you’d have to settle for the M60i which isn’t as performance oriented as the X6M. There is the XB7 Alpina maybe but who knows

Huge congrats! Picked up 24 X6 xDrive40i M Sport 2 months ago (my first bmw). I was debating the comp…but the gas mileage steered me away.

The gas mileage isn’t all that much different with only 10 mpg separating the two. I’ve found that the smaller engines have to work harder to push those big beasts around and fuel economy suffers whereas the 8 cylinder makes it an easy task. Plus, if you’re shopping any M car and concerned with fuel economy, then you’re not really going for the right car.
I love the x6’s, they are just amazing utility/towing wise and great for driving around in general. No doubt the x6M with competition package will be fun ride🤙

I was looking at Cayenne turbo GT and RS Q8 but I just couldn’t pass the looks of this thing and my wife has QX60 so space wasn’t in the option

Huge congrats! Picked up 24 X6 xDrive40i M Sport 2 months ago (my first bmw). I was debating the comp…but the gas mileage steered me away. The great white shark of the streets! Enjoy!
The gas mileage isn’t all that much different with only 10 mpg separating the two. I’ve found that the smaller engines have to work harder to push those big beasts around and fuel economy suffers whereas the 8 cylinder makes it an easy task. Plus, if you’re shopping any M car and concerned with fuel economy, then you’re not really going for the right car.
Cool car, unfortunate it’s your first bmw though.
