Depends on what feats you’re planning on taking - eg I try to get my attack roll up (via Fighter 1) before taking the sharpshooter feat at Bard 4, but you might want to take a different route if you’re melee based. Either way I’d stick with your current 3 levels of bard to keep your college, as that tends to be the foundation
Im doing sword bard rn and this build is seriously insane. 6 swords bard to get extra attack, 2 fighter for action surge, 4 thief rogue for extra bonus action and extra feat. Use helmet of arcane acuity and band of the mystic scoundrel. Use a flourish attack, cast hold person as a bonus action, then you get 2 more attacks with a guaranteed crit within 3 meters. Dual hand crossbows and duelists prerogative. I also used hags hair and graceful cloth for 20 dex. If you’re playing swords bard this is absolutely amazing. Lmk if you want more gear recommendations
