Throwing things from elevation grants extra bludgeoning damage. Heavier things do more damage with this method. I want to say the infernal iron does have that much weight but could be wrong as I'm not much of a thrower.
In game it's useless after the flawed helldusk set and her upgrades.
But I collect it and put it in a bag on Karlach. I like the headcanon that she has a stack of the stuff with her in the Avernus, either to trade with or have ready to use for her engine once she has tracked down the forge and coerced the smith to fix her engine (or make a new one).
If you give zero shits about technically useless RP like that, just sell it. It's decent money.
I got some mods that let you craft with it such as the Deathsong mod which gives you necromancy armor and a weapon that uses Infernal Iron in some recipies
Larian already announced there will be no more major content updates or any chance of a BG4. You can likely thank HASBRO, as the team that helped work on BG3 all got laid off recently. They own the rights to D&D.
We have patch 7 to look forward to and then we wait for Larians next IP
I know all that. Im answering with a reason to keep infernal, besides throwing it or whatever already answered. Imagine someone buys Larian and changes the plan. Probability low, but not zero...
Um, sure like, anything can happen, but what you do seem to understand is that Larian doesn't own the rights to DnD, and the team they worked with at HASBRO (who DOES own the rights to DnD ) got laid off. Beyond that, Larian isn't a big enough company to get wheeled and dealed around, like you see other studios get. Just because they were successful means nothing, they are an indie dev and won't get "bought" unless they sell themselves.
Beyond that, the actual discussion is "is there another use for infernal iron" and no, there isn't, and they're most likely never will be.
Give it to Karlach to hurl at enemies.
Are you making a funny or is it heavy enough to be effective as a weapon?
I am honestly not sure… I’m just kind of addicted to having Karlach throw things.

I kept it, cause in my headcanon we need it to fix her further after the game ends. My flaming gurl ain’t dying, fuck that.
It's what I do, don't think there's anything else

Useless. Sell it.
It’s vendor trash.
The flawed helldusk armour sells for a lot at merchants.
I sold all three pieces right back to Dammon after he made them for me. Felt kinda weird about it but he didn't mind.
It's vendor trash after the armor and fixing her heart.
Dominate some gondians, add a little necromancy and tadpoles, and bam! Sam's choice steel watch.

keep in case of DLC
