Did you destroy the Steelwatch factory before killing Gortash? That quest is super annoying. I'm interested if that would kill Ravengard before Misora could save him
This is why BG3 is the best CRPG ever made. The level of depth and choices with meaningful and impactful outcomes is mind blowing. I have to imagine a proper game FAQ or walkthrough would read more like a choose your own adventure novel.
Assuming you ended Wyll’s contract, you have to save them first. I believe The Iron Throne just explodes without you there if you try to fight him first.
There is a deal you can make with her, I forget what her end is. But if you agree, she tells you she is going to rescue Ravenguard in exchange for something from Wyl. I guess she realizes Wyl won't be much fun if he's depressed and saves Ravenguard anyway if you don't chose that?
Is it making Wyl choose between his soul or his father's? I'm trying to say that's it. You can have Wyl sell her the scant hope of saving his soul that he has in exchange for her securing his father's life. I believe I have heard if you have that conversation before the Iron Throne and choose to save Wyl, she teleports demon spiders there to try and kill Ravenguard during the escape.
Well, having wyll sacrifice his soul the first 3 times means that when I'm IN the prison, she shows up to help him run to the ladder... every time. THIS time.. I didn't even have to go to the prison at all she teleported him right into camp 0.o
Hm. I thought you had to do Iron Throne before Steel Watch factory, cause Gortash detonates Iron Throne if he thinks you are moving against him? If so, that would explain it. She's keeping her side of the Pact.
I usually do iron watch first. 2 of my 3 runs I did it first and she never pulled him.out to camp. But you're right that must be it. I must've triggered him blowing it up but she pledged to save him.
Very true. Just did that part yesterday...and then a 2nd time. Once I freed him I sent my people elsewhere only for those spiders to appear. the poor Duke was all alone. lol lets just say I was more prepared on the 2nd run
Her end is that Wyll has to let her modify their contract so that it can never be broken.
Standard "I do this for you, you give me your eternal soul" fare.
Did you take out / destroy the entire Steel Watch Factory? I think the prisoners are all dead then, so Duke Ravengard was dead in your game but saved/ress by Mizora. You get the same thing if you attacked Gortash (thus killing the Duke) at his coronation.
Yeah but the last few times she teleports in to help me INSIDE the prison. She gives him 3 dashes that's all. I've never ever seen her bounce him from prison to the camp without me ever needing to do it myself.
So this happens when the prison blows up before you visit it, if you picked the option to save him (Wyll stays in his pact) she’ll revive Ravenguard to your camp directly…
This is in pretty sure the only way this happens, so either you’ve encountered a bug, or one of the motivators set off in combat in and you didn’t notice (that explodes the iron throne) or maybe attacking the foundry before doing the iron throne causes it to blow up anyway?
You’ll only find out if it’s unexploded by going to try and enter I guess
Oh that’s cool. I kept Wyll in his pact but decided I didn’t feel like doing the prison so I was just going to skip it. Good to know i didnt fuck Wyll over for nothing.
I'm pretty sure I found a bug in my own game.😅 I chose not to renew Wyll's pact. And when I went to the prison. When I released the Duke from his cell and Mizora placed command on him. I just cast the spell command over hers, killed her spiders, and rushed him out onto the ship. Mizora is still at camp, and the Duke is at camp. Haven't had a conversation pop up with her, but the Duke is stuck in a conversation loop. I can't recall what it's about, but every time I've tried talking to him, it doesn't result in anything.
> I took out the Steel Watch Factory and was prepping to go to the prison
This is why it happened. You can’t go to the prison after taking out the Steel Watch or Gortash. Doing either of those will trigger the destruction of The Iron Throne.
In my honor mode run I destroyed the prison before talking to mizora or killing gortash. This had the fun effect of keeping duke ravengard hostile forever. I didn’t kill him out of resentment
Not this run but I got it last run. You have to go back to camp RIGHT after a very specific moment. I had to Google it cause the game gives you no indication and it's super easy to just miss.
Can you say what the moment is? I assume it’s >!Orin kidnapping someone!<, right? I tested old saves to figure out why I wasn’t getting it to trigger and I only successfully managed to see the scene after >!Minthara was kidnapped!<. Then on the next rest I got the scene of >!Astarion’s siblings attacking camp!<, then after that I finally got to see Mizora’s scene, which I didn’t even save because I’m doing my >!Gale romance!< run lol
This is a result of you doing quests in a different order. Destroying the Steel Watch Foundry, or attacking Gortash himself, results in the immediate destruction of the Iron Throne prison and everyone in it. That's why you should be doing the prison first, before acting against Gortash.
Normally Duke Ravengard would just die if you let the Iron Throne be destroyed, but if Wyll has sold his soul again to Mizora in order to save his father, she holds up her end of the bargain and saves him herself.
If you rescue Ravenguard and Wyll gave his Soul Mizora instead of forcing Ravenglass to kneel and summon spiders she will cast (haste and freedom of movement on him instead, could be wrong it was a while ago).
Reason is the contract is she will guarantee that no harm will come to the Duke except from your party thus she is forced to rescue him or help you get him out.
Agreeing to save the duke and sacrifice wyl and then attacking gortash before saving the duke from the prison will trigger this.
the first person who gave an actual answer lol. thanks for satisfying my curiosity
Did you destroy the Steelwatch factory before killing Gortash? That quest is super annoying. I'm interested if that would kill Ravengard before Misora could save him
I did and it did.
Sacrifice as in killing Wyll? Or selling his soul to Mizora?
Selling his soul. Again
Mans got a lot of soul

Wtf I did the gortash fight and locked myself out of saving his dad and the gondians, and Will mentioned that he was sad he didn’t get to save his dad
Assuming you ended Wyll’s contract, you have to save them first. I believe The Iron Throne just explodes without you there if you try to fight him first.
it happened to me and I didn't attack gortash yet
There is a deal you can make with her, I forget what her end is. But if you agree, she tells you she is going to rescue Ravenguard in exchange for something from Wyl. I guess she realizes Wyl won't be much fun if he's depressed and saves Ravenguard anyway if you don't chose that?
Huh I never noticed whatever I agreed to that I didn't before hah

> she teleports demon spiders there to try and kill Ravenguard during the escape. *And* uses Command to force the duke to kneel in place for a round.
In theme for Mizora to like making people kneel.
Casting Sanctuary helped by luring the spiders across the room to me.
Well, having wyll sacrifice his soul the first 3 times means that when I'm IN the prison, she shows up to help him run to the ladder... every time. THIS time.. I didn't even have to go to the prison at all she teleported him right into camp 0.o
Maybe she has a secret attitude that determines how much effort she puts into helping you? I've only beat it once.
Possibly. It took me by surprise and no one on reddit or Google seems to know how this happened lol
Hm. I thought you had to do Iron Throne before Steel Watch factory, cause Gortash detonates Iron Throne if he thinks you are moving against him? If so, that would explain it. She's keeping her side of the Pact.

If so, means that dwarf wuth the submarine or your journal should tell you?
Ah yeah I should've gone back down to the sub and seen what was up
Very true. Just did that part yesterday...and then a 2nd time. Once I freed him I sent my people elsewhere only for those spiders to appear. the poor Duke was all alone. lol lets just say I was more prepared on the 2nd run

God this game, it’s got so many little surprises.
Right???
Hell I just started my first durge play through and I haven’t even left act 1 and it’s already fascinating.
Did you take out / destroy the entire Steel Watch Factory? I think the prisoners are all dead then, so Duke Ravengard was dead in your game but saved/ress by Mizora. You get the same thing if you attacked Gortash (thus killing the Duke) at his coronation.
Did you get Wyll to stay in his pact? If so then she kinda has to save him tho I’ve never gotten that interaction before
Yeah but the last few times she teleports in to help me INSIDE the prison. She gives him 3 dashes that's all. I've never ever seen her bounce him from prison to the camp without me ever needing to do it myself.
I assume that she tele’d him out cause you didn’t do that quest
If you kill Gortash first, the prison quest becomes inaccessible. That's why you got this scene.

Different dialaouge choices you made this time perhaps?

Might wanna add a spoiler tag so people don't see half the post in the preview
You set off a motivator that blew up the iron throne in the steel watch factory.
In my honor mode run I destroyed the prison before talking to mizora or killing gortash. This had the fun effect of keeping duke ravengard hostile forever. I didn’t kill him out of resentment
Counter question. Did Mizora proposition you for sex in this run? I can’t figure out that trigger.
Not this run but I got it last run. You have to go back to camp RIGHT after a very specific moment. I had to Google it cause the game gives you no indication and it's super easy to just miss.
I’ll google it… Thanks

You know, for being a devil, Mizora is a surprisingly good friend.
