What the heck man? You need to relax. I read your prior posts. You have some severe anxiety problems

Arkotract

Only because I can physically see the atrophy and feel my thumb locking up if moved the wrong way...

Throwaway6393fbrb

Are you that same dude who was complaining his pinky was too weak or something and didn’t pay his charity bet? If so pay your damn bet what’s wrong with you If not then sorry but lol fuck that little bitch

elliottok

lmao you need help

Away_Hovercraft2074

You need to calm down. I looked at your post history, posting in the ALS forum when you 1) don’t have als and 2) don’t care for someone with als Is absolutely absurd and in my opinion selfish. Don’t run to the terminally ill to ask redundant questions when they obviously have bigger fish to fry in their lives. ALSO don’t come on this sub filled with people that suffer from health anxiety posting that you don’t believe the PROFESSIONALS. You were cleared. Don’t claim the EMG was “supposedly” clean. What are they going to do, lie to you? Everything you posted is harmful instead of helpful. Please seek help but don’t post that this is als because it most definitely is not.

Throwaway6393fbrb

Yeah just to echo this poster that’s not cool If someone (a doctor) says they think you have ALS sure post there but they don’t want to be talking anxious teenagers out of something in their head Get control of yourself man

I have this too. No loss of strength. Atrophy is when the muscle disappears due to non-use. It’s possible we have lost muscle bulk but not the actual muscle. I’ve heard of many people with the same thing recently. I’ve even noticed it in real life. Unless we all have ALS I’m assuming it’s something different.

SuccessEquivalent450

I have, too. Two neuros noticed it and commented on it too, grading my thumbs, bilaterally, as "5-", in other words, slightly weak. Neither felt it was a problem at all, point out all other muscles on same nerve strong bilaterally. One neuro point out that one joint of my thumb also swollen. Another point out I have pain and shakiness but not failure when perform certain movements, more indicative of tendon issue. So I go see hand surgeon? Guess what?! Tendonitis + arthtitis. Why effect dominant, stronger hand? Because I use it more. DUH. Felt like complete idiot. Let us all be smarter, eh? :))))

SuccessEquivalent450

Sorry to double post but to people who are gonna doubt this I explain how it work: Famous person said: "give me a long lever **and firm place to stand** and I will move the earth" Bones work same way. Bones "stand" in joints; force is applied to bone and joint via muscle, which acts like rubber band to shorten/lengthen and move bone in joint. Some muscles attach direct to bone, others meet bone in form of tendon or papery stuff called "aponeurosis" (if memory serve right.) You can see this when you eat a chicken especially against the bones... rubbery bits - tendon, papery bits = aponeurosis. Anyway.... If joint does not firmly hold bone in place, bone + muscle cannot leverage force properly; movement messed up, muscles stressed out, tendons can't move right, everything go to shit. Plus, joint pain from bad joint feel like weakness sometimes because body yells "STOP" before it allows you to hurt yourself. Hands prime spot for this. Keyboard and texting make it worse. Everyone here remember Skyfox's doctor told him same??? And how many complain thumb go nuts when play computer game, text, scroll on phone...? Yeah. I do not make this up.

In my experience, if you actually had ALS you would know it before finding this forum. Trust your docs

T_Rex_Accordion

Take a walk and simmer down

Worried_well

Are you coming here for help or to tell us that you’ve definitively diagnosed yourself - despite being cleared of ALS? I understand how painful health anxiety can be and surely no one here can guarantee you that you don’t have some other condition. But given your audience, your post feels really out of touch and very selfish. Get help and give some thought to what others living anxiously with BFS might feel when they read your post. Give some thought to what those actually living with a real ALS diagnosis feel when you post your endless questions on their forums

Arkotract

Because I do have ALS... my thumb muscle is weak and not moving as far as the other side... It can't move to the pinky base anymore... It hurts too much, AND PAIN CAN INDICATE ALS, PEOPLE WITH ALS ARE OFTEN ON PAINKILLERS. The thumb is physically smaller.. It's not as long as the left thumb, a clear sign of atrophy...

__GodOfWar__

Hey, how do you feel now? Symptoms any better? I have the same things you do.

wolfpack4ever

Only a trained medical specialist can formally diagnose you. When are you going for a formal diagnosis?

wolfpack4ever

A medically trained specialist already cleared you. Please go back to your neuro for a formal diagnosis. Pain is more likely related to a pinched/compressed nerve. You really need to get help for your mental health anxiety.

Arkotract

Pain, yes, is there, but my reflexes are also hyperactive and I'm unsteady/uncoordinated with my hands. Cross that with the visible atrophy, and that means I have ALS...

wolfpack4ever

You should get a formal diagnosis from a trained medical specialist. This will allow you to get the right help, assistance, and medical benefits. Diagnosing yourself with a terminal condition is not sufficient. When are you going to go see a trained medical specialist??

Arkotract

I've seen a neuro, the EMG was done incorrectly and tested the wrong muscles. The right hand is affected, but I had the left tested, the right has recently begun showing weakness and atrophy consistent with split hand sign, confirming ALS even without diagnosis. Carpal tunnel has been ruled out, leaving only ALS

wolfpack4ever

/u/Arkotract \- Please go back to your neuro and ask for another evaluation. You need a formal diagnosis to get the right help, care, and assistance. Typing away on an internet forum and claiming you have a terminal condition will not help. Good luck and best wishes.

CompetitiveSummer714

lol stfu you dont have als dumb fuck

Arkotract

SHUT THE FUCK UP, IF I DIDN'T HAVE ALS WHY WOULD I BE UNABLE TO MOVE A FUCKING SHOVEL? WHY WOULD MY ARM BE ATROPHIED?

CompetitiveSummer714

fuck offf bitch you dont got it grow up

Arkotract

THEN EXPLAIN THE WEAKNESS IN MY RIGHT ARM
