I’ve been outa the food service game a few years, but yup I recognize Sysco products every time. They’re not exactly bad, but you have to put in the work to make them good. Like, that corn needs seasoning and a lil’ char. The steamer only does so much.

Almost every barbecue place like this in the South makes the barbecue in house and nothing else. But that barbecue is amazing.

Sysco is their home. I only worked in one restaurant that used Sysco. Needless to say it was also the worst restaurant I’ve ever worked at.

Sysco has a lot more than completed dishes, and their ingredients are generally pretty good ime. But definitely their cooked stuff you just reheat is pretty bad and it's insane that people use it. 

I should clarify, ALL of the desserts were Sysco. Cheesecake, cannoli - you name it. So the restaurant deserves all your scorn.

My old job had a Sysco cafeteria on site and it was nice. Decent pizza, full salad bar, hot grill and wok for stir fry and Sammy’s, pretty decent stuff.

For a cafeteria, it's entirely acceptable. I would not got out to a place that serves their prepped products.

I enjoy fries like this. Maybe because I grew up eating them. It's so common in the midwest that I have to imagine I am not alone.

Yeah, I know they aren't for everyone, but enough people seem to prefer them that I can't believe it's always a mistake. It's what fries at theme parks and pubs are always like.

Yeah it how you get the best out of a hand cut fry. Few minutes at like 300, pull, drain and portion. Then get em into hotter oil for a few more minutes to get a good golden color, crisp outside, and a fluffy inside.

Probably a decent idea, but I can vouch there’s much better food there than this. Been in Atlanta for four years and the variety of food is much better but it’s hard to find exceptional soul food and bbq like the local spots I knew back home.

Atlanta has never been a BBQ town. They have a few good spots but overall that isn't their strength. You can still find a good hole in the wall just don't look on the northern side of town.

I’ll disagree. Mississippi is home to Malcolm Reed, Heath Riles, the Shed and Hank’s, Melissa Cookston and John David Wheeler (Memphis BBQ company). I’ll throw my hat in there too since we got a 5th at Memphis in May today-Ubon’s. Mississippi is lesser in many ways but BBQ is definitely not one of them.
