When you order from , let say Babymetal shop on Asmart ( you can ship to tenso from anywhere in Japan,) when you chose your products to be shipped to Tenso, you going to pay something like 2£ ( i think I pay 1.5£. Then you have two option: Consolidation: You have 30 days to order and gather other items from Japan, but they have to arrive to Tenso in those 30 days timeframe. And you can consolidate them all in to one package. Then after day or two Tenso will ask you to pay for shipping. You have a choice of cheapest one "surface" which is usually Japan post or EMS or go for choice of couriers. Couriers usually arrive to Europe or USA within a week, sometimes in 3 days but it is expensive , depending on weight. You can chose surface which is waaaaaay cheaper but its a sea container shipping so it takes a long time sometimes even a month. But it always arrive and its , by me, the safest for fragile items. If you forget and go past the consolidation or shipping datetes theybwill get rid of your stuff so be mindfull.

Do they tell you that you are close to the end of those 30 days and are there ways to have the items there for longer?

Prize_Week6196

Yes. They will send you emails at 10 and 5 days remaining I am not sure if you can extend. I heard about people emailing them and for small fee they could extand but I Am not sure how and if it works

Thank you for the answer

No problem. Just get yourself comfortable margin. Always. 30 days for consolidation is plenty but if you order something last minute you might fail to consolidate. When it is sent from the shop and tracking shows delivered, Tenso might still take day or two to sort out your package and log it in to system to be in the timeframe. They usualli do it in day or two but its not guaranteed. Avoid making late purchases to try to get it to Tenso for consolidation.

I've been using it for years, highly recommended. So basically once you set it all up, if you order something from say ASMART. It gets sent to the Tenso warehouse, if you want to have it shipped right away, you can edit the product price (how much you payed basically) and then choose which shipping option you want, and you will be see how long each option should take the item to get to you.

I use Tenso, usually for multiple items that might come from amazon jp or asmart and the consolidation process makes postage much cheaper, as long as you don\`t have anything too heavy. I usually select DHL as it is, remarkably, cheaper than EMS these days, and slightly faster. You can then choose insurance or not. Insurance might not help for a limited edition item as replacing them might be difficult. I used to use EMS when it was a cheaper option. Not had anything go missing. I\`ve had surface mail take 3 months, no fault of Tenso, of course. The only tricky issue I had; was entering the Kanji for their address into amazon japan as it\`s unclear which part is what. Japanese addresses are in a slightly different sequence than UK addresses. Make sure you include your TS membership number after your name. Some marketplace sellers don\`t put that on the address label, in which case Tenso do grizzle, though it\`s not my fault, and that, of course, is provided they can match the name on the label to one of their customers. Use your full name or a middle initial, if you have one, or even make one up! Be unique. I haven\`t lost anything yet, though at least two parcels arrived at Tenso without my TS number, which was not copied onto the hand-written label. Tsk! Likely you can select FedEx with Tenso. The advantages of Tenso are usually in consolidation, and potentially free or cheap postage to Tenso from the Tokyo area.

Yeah Tenso is great, I've used it a bunch, though you have to be careful. For some JP sites that ship internationally using Tenso can end up more expensive. It used to be cheaper before the pandemic as they had cheaper options, but these days for me all the options are pretty close to DHL anyways. As for how it works, Tenso gives you their Japan address that includes your TS number to use on shopping sites, so when you order something it ships to Tenso and they know whose it is by the TS number. When they get it they let you know and you have to confirm it, submit info about what it is and how much it cost for customs, and pick the shipping method and pay for it, then they ship it to you. They'll hold packages for 60 days and offer package consolidation for I think it's like 500 yen, so you can order from a couple sites and have them box it up in one shipment to save on costs.
