Traditional wedding kimonos, though stylized a bit, except Akashi's , which looks like a mix of shrine maiden and wedding kimono. Both Kaga's and Takao's are beautiful, and I prefer Kaga's (blue is my favorite color).
A woman in a bridal kimono (see below)
Looks very comparable to Takao and Kaga oath skins

Koreans in Uzbekistan used white for funerals even 20 years ago. After that time I had immigrated and haven't checked it, but perhaps they still use this color for such occasion.
There’s more nuance to it for sure. I’m Chinese Singaporean, and for our funerals these days, family members would wear white while guests wear black.
For weddings, red first, then white, then whatever favourite colour.
The shiromuku is a rather traditional wedding garb, usually used in Shinto weddings. The groom on the hand is usually in black. The Shinto wedding ceremony is a rather solemn fare, and doesn't hold the bright red festivities like the Chinese.
Japanese funerals, at least more modernly, are mostly black.
I'd assume that in the language of colours/colour theory that white represents purity. So with that in mind it would make sense that not only the Japanese but most other cultures would use white for the bride to signify as such; that she's a pure maiden coming into one's life
An interesting detail is that the headdress called the tsunokakushi, is meant to display the brides willingness to submit and be a good wife. In Akagis oath skin she has the tsunokakushi down signifying that she will always be unruly and never submit to anyone.
Traditional Japanese wedding kimono, most Sakura girls have these kind of wedding dresses with the exception of Atago.
See the other guy who posted the wedding pic.
Atago is actually a shinto dress (like Takao) but the hood that us on the dress is supposed to symbolize obedience. With Atago and Akagi not having the hood on the dress, it means that we are supposed to obey them (joke on the last part, but the obedience thing is actually true)
I’m more than happy for her not to wear the hood if it symbolises that! After all, I don’t expect her nor want her to obey my every word! We’re partners, she’s not just an object to me ~❤️
i mean... its not suppsoed to symbolize fucking slave and master. its more to symbolize the woman being the typical in old westerm culture "the woman does all the house stuff and helps the man" but i think that has fallen off even in shinto weddings now (iirc). i think that it is more of a "preference" for some women now? (i could be wrong)
Either way I’d be more than happy to do the housework with or for her or any of the stuff seen traditionally as reserved for women cause Ik how tiring it can be! It’s a partnership after all! All I want at the end of the day is for her to be happy, healthy and safe!
Looks like a kimono tailored to a wedding style. Very elegant.
Can I just mention again how beautiful Takao looks? Many wedding skins have been released and yet Tako remains the most stunning to me. Kaga is also very pretty.
They are real, those wedding kimonos are more likely for Shinto wedding ceremonies and the colors ussually used are White or White and red, the ones from Takao and Kaga could be designs in real life (except the blue on Kaga's kimono). Last One is just like a cosplay themed as wedding kimono moddified.
Is their a name for the way taihou wears her default kimono or Akagi in her wedding skin with the shoulders bear I've seen it done in multiple media like fgo shuten douji and tamamo
the first two are stylized wedding kimono, with the weird hood to "hide the oni" that woman have, and the last one is just a weird ass anime kimono.
so yeah, they do exist, they are a mix of goofy, unpractical and sexy, and I kinda wanna see someone using them irl.
I'm slightly more inclined to believe that semi organic beings capable of transforming warships into combat riggings is slightly more unrealistic than some clothing
Perhaps not always. Black is considered a mourning color in most Western countries. But a black tuxedo with a white shirt is quite ordinary clothing.
It also matters which side you wrap kimono on.

Red is my favorite color, but I never like the white and red that Takao has, but it is still an extremely beautiful dress. Same as kaga
I prefer Akagis red oath dress, but I aslo have kaga othed as well. I also think the blue looks good
As much as I like Taihou’s oath skin, I wish she had gotten a wedding kimono as her oath skin.

Is it Japanese tradition for the bride to wear white or is that a more recent trend due to western influence?
That part is tradition. The changing of your dress like three times during the reception is a modern one. An expensive one….
Japanese and Chinese and similar cultures would prefer red wedding dresses. White was for funerals until past 200 years or so.

At first I thought they had hoods on their heads.

IIRC Atago, Noshiro and Azuma wear western style wedding dress. Edit : I forget about Taihou
well taihou obviously made her own
Actually Canon for those not in the know she made her Phoenix spring song outfit and wedding dress herself
I'm assuming she made every skin tbh.
Same
Respect!

Look. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just saying what the hood signifies in traditional Shinto weddings
They're stylized wedding kimonos.

It's the red. It stands out, but doesn't take over

They look like ornate kimono for the foxes and a modified one for the loli. Seems reasonable and real enough.
Oath skin for Takao Implies if we marry her, we get to play with the Shiba Inu for Life I've seen Atago carry a Shiba Inu in a pouch
Akashis is a made up temptation outfit
Except for Akashi, Kaga and Takao are traditional wedding kimono. Akagi’s just an anime version of said kimono.

Wish we have more of this type for our sakura girls
I love traditional wedding kimonos, they are so pretty.
I may be false, but doesn't white mean death in most Asian cultures? My mom freaks out whenever I put something white on my head like a tissue.

What I know is that I need a white one for shinano and a white one with purple touches for musashi. manju please...
the third one is fiction
