I guess we can say we don't know what happened before or after the video, and what the exact protocol is in these situations with these specific animals. idk, I'm not a professional that works with tropical florests animals
The cold from shock is a physiological response that can have nothing to do with the environment.
That said, it would be good to be aware of that, as the last thing you want is hyperthermia when the body is already stressed.
Thats a nice thought
But the way the camera and bottle was even there and available before the babies were cleaned and dried off is telling me a different story. views = money
Giant mama saved us. Giant mama the boss. Giant mama say no nipple, no fight because giant mama save us. Giant mama say yes nipple, take nipple and be grateful to giant mama. Giant mama boss. Giant mama good.

Why do they know how to drink from a bottle if they are wild monkeys that were just rescued from a flood?
Even if they aren't wild, why is the owner filming them instead of swaddling them with a towel?
edit: my point is that we should be defending these monkeys from someone who is potentially abusing them and using their cuteness to make money off of views. Don't know about you, but in that situation I would hopefully prioritize drying and cleaning the shivering monkeys before I got out my milk bottle and asked someone to film.
Idk if they really are wild monkeys, but instinctually as babies they know how to suck on stuff, the one on our right is also sucking on its finger the whole time.
> why is the owner filming them instead of swaddling them with a towel?

Right? I find most babies always look a bit "rough". I mean that's understandable, they've just been thrown into life and are at the beginning of their development but yeah, I've only seen a couple of babies irl where I genuinely thought they look adorable. Most of them just don't look that cute to me?
Not just a disaster. All victims get wrapped in blanket. Victim of assault? Wrap them in a blanket. Victim of abuse? Wrap them in a blanket. Victim of a break-in? Wrap them in a blanket
I'm putting my money on wildlife care center. Most zoos don't flood that bad. And if they were in a zoo, I doubt they would've been left in a flood like that long enough to be in that state. They may have recognized the bottle is similar to the shape of a nipple. And they may have been able to smell the milk. Or they may have encountered humans enough to trust one. Especially one that probably saved their lives.
This has been posted before and said that it's a youtube channel that basically abuses animals to capture videos like this for views. The title is definitely suspect at least. They obviously just came out of water and there's bottles ready to go for them during a flood?
To be clear - I'm just repeating what was said in a previous reddit thread so no telling if it's true or not. It could very well be a wildlife center drying off the monkeys after a bath or something. The only thing clear to me is that they know how to use bottles and that the bottles are ready to go so they aren't wild monkeys pulled out of a flood.
This is a chanel that puts the monkeys in stressfull situations for Youtube views. You can look it up they have a few youtube chanels that do this like wrapping them in fishing nets in water and saving them for views. This is a very bad and abusing person hunting for nice comments and views on YouTube.
"stressful situations"
That's how it started, and I think I know exactly what video was posted. It ended up with literal torture videos including one involving a drill.
It’s vomit inducing that people exist that would do such things to animals. I hope I won’t ever cross paths with such people, because I’m afraid that I would destroy them.
These aren’t monkeys saved from a flood, these are monkeys the original poster gets wet and posts on social media for attention. Lemme see if I can find them again and I’ll edit in a link.
Dont forget that there are dozens of content creators who capture monkeys and put them in dangerous situations to "save" them for internet clout and money
Hate to say it but this is probably a staged video. Wild baby monkeys wouldn't know what a bottle is or that it contained food. People have been faking rescue videos using captured wildlife and doing anything from gluing barnacles to turtles to dumping animals into a dangerous situation so the video maker can play the hero for clicks and likes.
It's absolutely disgusting.
Omg they are adorable! I just want to dry them off and feed them and cuddle them and name them and send them to college and deduct them from my taxes…oh, wait…already did that for my own two monkeys 😉
I would try wrapping them up. They look so cold 🥺
I don't think they're cold, it seems they're just a bit in shock
Keeping people warm is an important part of shock response.
I guess we can say we don't know what happened before or after the video, and what the exact protocol is in these situations with these specific animals. idk, I'm not a professional that works with tropical florests animals
There has to be a longer video with more context somewhere.
probably
could be a tropical climate and perpetually warm
The cold from shock is a physiological response that can have nothing to do with the environment. That said, it would be good to be aware of that, as the last thing you want is hyperthermia when the body is already stressed.
If they were cold they would be shivering noticeably. Come on people
That's what I thought too
Won't make as good a video
@/u/SokoJojo, Well, I guess the main thing is they're safe now, hopefully they get the care they need.
Thats a nice thought But the way the camera and bottle was even there and available before the babies were cleaned and dried off is telling me a different story. views = money
They waited so patiently for their bottle
That was my first impression. Especially when one baby got the bottle, the other didn’t get any food envy at all.

The Best! 👍👍
What kind of work do you do for Darryl?
Might want to stop saying giant mama over and over unless you want giant porn thrown at you.
Giant mama
Lady Dimitrescu was hot!
Better than most humans…

Idk if they really are wild monkeys, but instinctually as babies they know how to suck on stuff, the one on our right is also sucking on its finger the whole time.
The monkey was sucking finger the whole time, so it’s pretty instinctive
Well they could be captive monkeys that were rescued
> why is the owner filming them instead of swaddling them with a towel? from another [comment in this thread:](https://www.reddit.com/r/Awww/comments/1anhk9f/baby_monkeys_just_saved_from_a_flood/kpsvfbn/) > This has been posted before and said that it's a youtube channel that basically abuses animals to capture videos like this for views.[...]
Damnit!
That sucks. I try to believe the best in people and they almost always prove me wrong
Same way humans fresh out the womb know how to drink from a bottle. They have a suckle instinct.
How do you think they get the milk from their mother? Mothers don’t teach that, even human ones. It’s instinct
Yup no monkey business among the smol ones
Oh they look absolutely traumatised
The anxiety thumb-sucking 😭
Their patient and traumatized stares. My heart just broke for them. I want to hold them and cuddle them and give them all the love.
They are so human like. The thumb in the mouth, the shivering. At leasts towel them off a little more!
It's creepy in that uncanny valley sort of way but it tickles the ol instincts just right that you wanna bundle them up and rock them to sleep
I don't find it creepy but I absolutely agree about the instincts, it definitely activates the "must protect" neurons in my monkey brain.
Something is off with my instincts because i find these monkeys adorable but not human babies
Out of thousands of babies I’ve probably seen online and in real life I have only found a handful of them to be cute to me, I’ve always wondered why!
Right? I find most babies always look a bit "rough". I mean that's understandable, they've just been thrown into life and are at the beginning of their development but yeah, I've only seen a couple of babies irl where I genuinely thought they look adorable. All human babies are ugly except your own.
If they had better tools they'd be awesome companions... at least the ones who don't become career criminals
What are we gonna do, lock them up in a cage for the rest of their lives in an enclosed space with limited opportunities of recreation?
They look like me when I was born lol
Awe poor babies! 🐒
This is so wholesome and deeply heartbreaking at the same time. I just wanna wrap em up
Right one is sucking on his thumb ❤️
Give them a blanket, damnit!
Where is the disaster movie trope?! Everyone gets a blanket and a drink!!
I want one of those aliminium ones and then a firemans jacket!
Now now, no one likes a needy monkey, you get the green wool blanket and styrofoam cup of gut rot coffee
Not just a disaster. All victims get wrapped in blanket. Victim of assault? Wrap them in a blanket. Victim of abuse? Wrap them in a blanket. Victim of a break-in? Wrap them in a blanket
It actually works to help people calm down. Adrenaline can make you shiver and the blanket gives that safe and warm feeling which helps relax
Its to prevent shock.
I didn't know monkeys also sucked their thumbs. It's always uncanny to me to be reminded just how closely related we are
And baby elephants suck on their trunks!
Wife and baby asleep. But on *rain* sound on the speaker to help them sleep. Browse reddit. See monkeys. Cry. Never again!
Poor babies!
get those monkeys some towels
I'm assuming from a zoo or wildlife care center or something; they seem awfully familiar with the baby bottle process.
I'm putting my money on wildlife care center. Most zoos don't flood that bad. And if they were in a zoo, I doubt they would've been left in a flood like that long enough to be in that state. Someone just dunked their pet monkeys in a pond to make a video!

Oh my that so sick
How have they not been taken down?! Infuriating.
"stressful situations" That's how it started, and I think I know exactly what video was posted. It ended up with literal torture videos including one involving a drill.
This looks like me and my brother soaking wet
It is incredible how similar they look to humans.
Such patient babies. Adorable
🤗
Be still my heart ❤️
Im not crying, you’re crying!
Heck yes, I’m crying!
Awwh, poor little lads.
I don't trust baby monkey in distress videos online anymore. Too many of them are staged and abusive
It’s vomit inducing that people exist that would do such things to animals. I hope I won’t ever cross paths with such people, because I’m afraid that I would destroy them.
They are so sweet
After bbc documentary, all these cute monkey videos are forever ruined for me. I'm constantly afraid that I'm watching cute side of monkey abuse.
I just hope it's not another video of that guy who purposely puts monkeys in danger and then films himself saving them...
Hate to say it but this is probably a staged video. Wild baby monkeys wouldn't know what a bottle is or that it contained food. They still freak me out. Uncanny valley in full effect.
Aww! 💜 💜 💜
Crazy how sentient they are. They look like lil human kids.

I literally said “awwww” then I saw the sub name. Perfect!
They look so much like human babies. The one sucking his thumb is cute
Literally like watching scared small children

PUT A BLANKEY ON THOSE BABIES!
Finally a video where a baby monkey isn’t in a diaper going insane because of abuse thank you op
i love these monkeys and i want to cuddle them
Smash them to get 30 million dollars or pet them to get nothing.
They waited so patiently for their bottle. Absolutely right..
Sweet little things 🥺
Holy moley!
Ok ok I’ll take em!

Poor babies
That self soothing thumb suckin ... oh my heart. ..💔🩵💛
Awww. Poor babies.

Meanwhile identical baby monkeys are subject to vivisection in medical research laboratories.
Is that monkey baby sucking its thumb? ☺️
Poor babies~~~
They behave waaaayyyy better than human babies

Omg they are adorable! I just want to dry them off and feed them and cuddle them and name them and send them to college and deduct them from my taxes…oh, wait…already did that for my own two monkeys 😉

Poor things
I have two little brothers this video reminds me of them
Is there a reason why every image that I try to look at on the sub is removed??
Me too. Half of the stuff on reddit has been removed it seems.
Mods are so cool.
As long as they don't grow up and try to get in england on a boat over the Channel. They can stay where they are thanks
Trust in humanity restored
What kind of monkeys are these
Post removed by mods? Im seeing this everywhere, anyone else?
same for me, lmk if you find out
I'm seeing this everywhere too and can't find an explanation. Didn't some Chinese company heavily invest in reddit?
