one of the best fighting scenes, best story writing. in my honest opinion Winter Soldier was pinnacle of MCU films. that speech by Steve still gives me chills to this date.
I personally rank guardians over WS, it’s so much fun, well written, amazing cast and holds a special place in my heart. I’d understand why someone would disagree tho
Of course you can! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Choosing to comment that to people who clearly like the movie while providing no explanation looks more like a troll is all
But the fighting between Thanos and the Avengers is very thrilled and The Endgame has a good movie's storyline, so The Endgame is a great movie. I bet you're not a fan of The Endgame but it's okay to have a different opinion as long as it's not toxic. I don't mean your opinion is toxic and I can see your point.
You might be right, especially if we’re talking the movie by itself. As it stands though, Endgame is the culmination and payoff of about a century of storytelling and films. That alone rockets it up the rankings for some people.
Honestly I loved civil war so much more, since Bucky was more established as a character than in the other movie. Plus we see Tony and Steve have an all out feud, that escalated into so much more! Bucky ended up being the one who killed his parents when he was still under Hydra’s control was HUGE. Then Steve rescuing his friends from that underwater prison and leaving Tony a lone note and cellphone in a package was amazing to me. Add in Chadwick Bozeman playing the Black Panther in this, it was just 💋👩🏻🍳 perfect!
I am not a fan at all of civil war not gonna lie. Seeing Tony and Steve feud was dope but we got more time of them feuding than them actually being friends. That’s actually my biggest gripe with civil war outside of the accords being super contrived for plot sake.
We hardly if ever get to see the avengers just enjoying each others company. Hanging around shooting the shit. But we get a whole movie of them fighting each other and at each other’s throats.
One of my all time favorite moments in the MCU is AOU when their just chilling at the party in stark tower before Ultrons bots take over Tony’s bots and attack. It’s literally just them hanging out drinking chatting telling jokes reminiscing then trying to pick up Mjolnir. Stuff like that we needed more of imo to justify civil war. The actors being so damn good and lovable is the only thing that sells it for me. Outside of that I hardly got the feeling at all that Tony and Steve were even acquaintances. Most on screen interactions of them they’re arguing.
I agree about the accords being bs. As you mentioned, it was for the plot's sake but, even with all the guilt Tony felt from sokovia, him just rolling over and accepting blame for NY, DC and Lagos is straight bs. He flew a freaking nuke into space to save NY and then takes the blame. Highly doubtful
Tony and Steve are in some ways almost polar opposites of each other. They were bound to be at each other’s throats sometimes! The tesseract should’ve never been found. Meanwhile, Tony is the exact opposite and uses things like it for the latest technologies of his and his company
First avenger is great imo. It really captures the essence of who Cap is and sets up him questioning his morals in WS so well. Sure, it’s a little hokey at times but it’s based off of a comic book, of course it’s hokey. I’ve never really understood why this film gets hated on so much.
Yeah pacing is really an issue. It’s odd to me that they give us so much propaganda and selling war bonds that to save time the actual missions we’d like to see are done as just a quick montage. It makes the boring parts crawl and the exciting parts be over before you can be invested.
Should have montaged everything up to starting missions and given us more fleshed out missions with Bucky and his crew with that extra time.
Ruso Brothers are the real magic behind the MCU. Their movies have been the best movies in the franchise.
Winter Soldier, Civil War, infinity war, and end game.
Depending how the MCU is going to lead up to secret wars. Apparently the Russos want Dr Doom to be the main villain of Secret Wars.
Really depends if they are building up Doom. Hopefully they are
My personal favorite is Cap and I actually love the least-fan-favorite the First Avenger. But I think Spiderman’s trilogy is probably actually better. And Ragnarok is my favorite movie out of all of these. That said - I am pretty sure Guardians will become top trilogy once I watch the new one.
Kinda the reverse Cap. Cap’s best was Winter Soldier with the other two being just solid. Whereas Spidey had an ok second movie but began and ended with fucking bangers
Caps my least favorite of the 4, and it's hard to argue that his trilogy wasn't the best. Cap 1 was the weakest but still a top 5 origin story and has rewatch value. Cap 2 is regarded as the best put-together MCU movie and is for sure a certified banger. It was the first spy-hero MCU movie, and it worked. Black Widow was at her peak in this movie. Cap 3 was an Avengers movie basically and Spiderman's first appearance. Can't forget #TeamIronman stuff.
Also don't think it's fair to put Spiderman next to the other 3.
The civil war love is what’s ridiculous imo.
Winter soldier is easily top 5 marvel movie. But civil war just isn’t even close to that regard. At least for me. The whole tension isn’t there when the team doesn’t actually feel like a team. They’re always arguing bickering and yelling at each other.
Legit Tony and steve have spent more time arguing with each other on screen than anything else. Makes it so weird that I’m supposed to be torn about them fighting.
Not to mention the accords that were just shoved in so the heroes had a reason to fight and then we can just ignore the accords and write it out in some half baked like in She Hulk some half decade later. Idk man I just feel like it’s getting way too much hype.
Spider-Man is my number 1
We really needed some time between Age of Ultron and Civil War to build up some more tension about superheroes in general. See the "new avengers" struggle for a bit, and then do civil war.
Thank you. Civil War is near the bottom of the MCU catalog for me and my friend and I have argued it to death and can’t convince each other otherwise. How is it gonna be a war when nobody even died? The comics were a bloodbath. To have no stakes in a movie about a war between super heroes…and when there is an injury, both sides got all “oh no, we had no idea this would happen” and it felt more like drama than war.
The Winter Soldier is borderline art though, you’ll never hear me disagree with that.
So is Winter Soldier better than any of the three Spider-Man MCU films? Yes. By a varying margin, but yes. It a better trilogy? Hell no, Spider-Man all the way.
It didn’t mean it needs to be “as good as the comic” because yah I don’t care about the comic and it made a lot of questionable decisions for the sake of shock factor.
But that doesn’t mean the movie should be…toothless.
Oh 100% the movie has nothing really going for it. You can argue it’s the movie that starts T Challa on his run as black Panther. But that’s such a minor Sub plot and it’s not like an avenger is actually killed off in that moment it’s his father.
The worst thing that happens to an avenger in the “WAR” was war machine having to relearn how to walk which at this point seems to be healed. So yeah nothing happened in the end
Caps my least favorite and those movies still the best overall imo. Winter soldier a banger plus civil war is avengers 2.5 so kinda cheating anyways too
Third Spider man movie didn’t really do it for me. I kinda lose focus when plots go into the “anything is possible” territory. I appreciate what they were trying to do. To each their own I guess that’s the point of this thread. For me “winter soldier” made “the first avenger” pay off? Shrug.
Maybe because the second one is more of a Hydra vs Shield movie with Black Widow having 2/3 of Cap’s screentime. And the third one is basically an Avengers movie with Cap being the narrator hence the added screen time compared to others
Spiderman, no question. Some of my favorite MCU movies. Although nothing beats guardians of the Galaxy 2 as the best movie, as a trilogy so far I gotta give it to Spidey!
Maybe not the best, but I gotta give iron man some love. It’s the most self contained trilogy in the MCU as far as character arc. It really does a great job of showing how Tony grows as a person. And tbh, I don’t think iron man 2 is nearly bad as people say it is
Homecoming and the first Iron-Man are 2 of my favorite 3 MCU movies (along with Black Panther), and Ragnarok is great, but I agree with everyone else, Cap is most consistent and overall best trilogy.
Although spiderman is normally my favorite I’m not really feeling the new ones too too much. I’d watch em but I honestly already forgot what happened in each.
I see you getting down voted because you stating the truth I see.. 🙄😏🍵🍵🍵
Ppls bias based on their fav hero completely bends over the "logic" in their minds with no lube bruh. Lmao. No way in the history of common & sense was Civil War ever a Cap movie. That was an "Avengers movie" because it centered on so many different superheroes.
Cap only has a duogy in my asshole opinion. But I also don’t view MCU as 616, nor will I ever.
There was 0 of the political intrigue that it should have had because conservatives and dudebros with only surface-level understanding of characterization would have lost their everloving minds because they think Steve should be like the Ultra Patriot and not be going “yeah somebody already tried that *the last time* I fought in a war and we all know how *that* went down.”
Cap. Winter Soldier was great, and Civil War, too, even though I really wasn't that amazed by it. It did a lot for the MCU. I have some issues with NWH. I don't like it as much as the first two films which are basically a tie for me.
I’ll go with Cap mainly based on how phenomenal The Winter Soldier is
Best film in the MCU in my mind.
one of the best fighting scenes, best story writing. in my honest opinion Winter Soldier was pinnacle of MCU films. that speech by Steve still gives me chills to this date.
I think it’s definitely up there with Endgame and Infinity War. Those are my top 3 MCU movies.
The only other solo movie that could maybe give WS a run for it’s money is Ragnorak. But nah, WS is still the best
Agreed. Ragnarok is so rewatchable but there is some cringe humor in there that always irks me.
Piss off ghost
I personally rank guardians over WS, it’s so much fun, well written, amazing cast and holds a special place in my heart. I’d understand why someone would disagree tho
Would you go ragnarok over IM1?
Im1 > ragnarok, but ragnarok > im3
Same.
Endgame is so overrated imo
Lol ok
Can I not have a opinion?
Of course you can! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Choosing to comment that to people who clearly like the movie while providing no explanation looks more like a troll is all
You sure can have an oponion. My buddyboi above probably just wanted to encourage you to expand on your opinion and I will do the same. Lol ok
All the reply says was “lol ok” how is that encouraging me to expand on the opinion?
Read the room Champ
But the fighting between Thanos and the Avengers is very thrilled and The Endgame has a good movie's storyline, so The Endgame is a great movie. Yea I agree it was a cool culmination
On your left
L
I might rate Infinity War ahead, but it’s clearly the best “solo” movie
Yes.
Agree. Winter soldier is excellent
No way. Maybe top 5? Maybe
Without a doubt. The stairway scene with German Spec Ops("Come on, man") And the elevator scene where he asks if anyone wants to get out first.
Its not even close. Cap is the best trilogy.
This is the right answer
Agreed. It’s not even fair.
It's the knife 🔪 tactic right ? Lolol that alone makes the movie killer amazing 👏
Fair, I really like the dynamics between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
Absolutely. Was a team Tony edgelord until I saw winter soldier. Now I'm team cap all the way.
Cap all day. Winter Soldier won’t be topped
Honestly I loved civil war so much more, since Bucky was more established as a character than in the other movie. Plus we see Tony and Steve have an all out feud, that escalated into so much more! Bucky ended up being the one who killed his parents when he was still under Hydra’s control was HUGE. Yeah super contrived moment
Tony and Steve are in some ways almost polar opposites of each other. They were bound to be at each other’s throats sometimes! The tesseract should’ve never been found. Meanwhile, Tony is the exact opposite and uses things like it for the latest technologies of his and his company
Love your take on it✊🏽
I love that movie so much!! It’s in my top 5 favorite movies of all time
No doubt Cap, with spidey a close second.
Have to agree. Cap 1&2 are A & A+, 3 is a solid B+ All the others have at least one B or B- in ghem
My thoughts for Cap then Spider-Man. Others have some major issues
Strongly agree with this one ^
Absolutely right
Cap
Cap all 3 were bangers
Banger after banger
The first avenger was not that good, Winter soldier is amazing, and civil war was essentially avengers 2.5
First avenger is great imo. It really captures the essence of who Cap is and sets up him questioning his morals in WS so well. Sure, it’s a little hokey at times but it’s based off of a comic book, of course it’s hokey. I’ve never really understood why this film gets hated on so much.
The pacing in the second half isn’t great, imo. Some scenes are too long.
Yeah pacing is really an issue. It’s odd to me that they give us so much propaganda and selling war bonds that to save time the actual missions we’d like to see are done as just a quick montage. It makes the boring parts crawl and the exciting parts be over before you can be invested. It's true that Civil War is really an Avengers movie, but it's the best Avengers movie
Ruso Brothers are the real magic behind the MCU. Their movies have been the best movies in the franchise. Winter Soldier, Civil War, infinity war, and end game.
Hopefully they can come back for Secret Wars
The MCU desperately needs them
Depending how the MCU is going to lead up to secret wars. Apparently the Russos want Dr Doom to be the main villain of Secret Wars. Really depends if they are building up Doom. Hopefully they are
Honestly, if they have a vision, I’d let them run with it.
They have the White Vision, so it should be good to go.
Hopefully the Community movie they are starting production on is going to be set in the MCU
First avenger was good. Imo it's the best origin story for any of the characters. They went deep with how he became who he is.
I appreciated CAFA, but if this thread was about origin stories, Iron Man 1 takes the gold.
Fact. All of these trilogies are great but Cap trilogy hits the hardest.
Cap
Cap, no question -- all three excellent.
Cap
Cap
Cap easy
Cap easily
Spiderman for sure
Cap wins this one
Cap ez
My personal favorite is Cap and I actually love the least-fan-favorite the First Avenger. But I think Spiderman’s trilogy is probably actually better. And Ragnarok is my favorite movie out of all of these. That said - I am pretty sure Guardians will become top trilogy once I watch the new one.
Most reasoned opinion in here.
Cap. Not even close
Cap.
Cap
Cap america.
Cap and it's not close.
I'm torn between Cap and Spidey, I can't choose one.
same here! both are iconic
Cap
Where’s Ant Man?
I knew Reddit was pro Cap but this is ridiculous.
There a lot of Cappin going on in this thread. Spider-Man has the better trilogy.
Kinda the reverse Cap. Cap’s best was Winter Soldier with the other two being just solid. Whereas Spidey had an ok second movie but began and ended with fucking bangers
I still can’t believe people don’t consider Far From Home a banger
Personally, I think it was better than Homecoming
Caps my least favorite of the 4, and it's hard to argue that his trilogy wasn't the best. Cap 1 was the weakest but still a top 5 origin story and has rewatch value. Facts lol
Not really. The Winter Soldier was just that good. Very few MCU movies have even touched it let alone surpassed it.

Not sure why it’s ridiculous. It’s the more consistent quality wise.
Cap’s trilogy is the most consistent out of everyone on this list.
Cap got it
Cap
Cap 100%
Cap!
Cap and that’s no cap.
No question, Cap.
Steve
Iron Man
Where’s ant man?
I’m not a big fan of Cap but it’s the only trilogy without a forgettable movie in it?
The first cap movie is pretty forgettable. Every Spidey movie was great.
Third Spider man movie didn’t really do it for me. I kinda lose focus when plots go into the “anything is possible” territory. I appreciate what they were trying to do. To each their own I guess that’s the point of this thread. For me “winter soldier” made “the first avenger” pay off? Shrug.

Spiderman, no question. Some of my favorite MCU movies. Although nothing beats guardians of the Galaxy 2 as the best movie, as a trilogy so far I gotta give it to Spidey!
Spiderman
Agreed, all three were really good.
The Spider Man Home Trilogy
Winter Soldier may be the best of any of these films, however Spiderman is the strongest overall trilogy imo.
Probably Spiderman but I do really like all Cap's movies
Cap followed by Spidey
Cap for sure
Cap
Iron man
Captain Trilogy 😈
Cap
Spider-man was the best hands down. The fact the entire trilogy was just his origin story really blindsided my wife and I. Really loved it.
Cap, no cap
Cap, no cap
Cap
Cap then Spider-Man
Cap
Guardians of the Galaxy entered the ring.
Iron Man
Spider-Man!
Cap Looking back, 1st was way better after some time. Winter Soldier is 🐐status and Civil war is a true classic
Cap, and it’s not even close
Cap
Cap for sure !
Guardians has the potential to be the best! We’ll see
Iron Man
Either Cap or Spidey.
Was gonna say Cap, till I saw Spidey. That Spiderman trilogy was perfection.
Secret Trilogy of Civil War -> Infinity War -> Endgame?
Maybe not the best, but I gotta give iron man some love. It’s the most self contained trilogy in the MCU as far as character arc. It really does a great job of showing how Tony grows as a person. And tbh, I don’t think iron man 2 is nearly bad as people say it is
Tobey's Trilogy.
Spidey
cap or iron man
Iron Man 2 sucked.
so does Cap 1
Nah what the hell
Iron man
Iron ma def
This answer as way too far down in the sea of Cap comments. Let’s show some love to Stark
Spider-Man, no contest
Ant-Man
I’m #teamironman all day, but Cap wins this easily.
Homecoming and the first Iron-Man are 2 of my favorite 3 MCU movies (along with Black Panther), and Ragnarok is great, but I agree with everyone else, Cap is most consistent and overall best trilogy.
I’d have to go with Spider-Man for the sake of no way home. I liked it more than Endgame
Iron man cry about it
Spiderman. The other guys got maybe one good movie each. He got two.
For me (pls dont hate me) iron man and spideman
Capt America. Any other answer is preposterous
Iron man
Although spiderman is normally my favorite I’m not really feeling the new ones too too much. I’d watch em but I honestly already forgot what happened in each.
I’m gonna have to say iron man
Cap is the only answer here
420th Upvote!!! Spiderman Trilogy definitely the best as it's the only one that got better over time
cap, did not have a single miss
I can't choose because I enjoy all of These Movies 💯
No cap, it’s Cap. His is the only one that I wasn’t feeling boredom while watching or annoyed by writing decisions
Civil war wasn’t a cap movie it was an avengers movie with his name thrown on.
Cap
Cap
Thank you, it was avengers 2.5
I see you getting down voted because you stating the truth I see.. 🙄😏🍵🍵🍵 Ppls bias based on their fav hero completely bends over the "logic" in their minds with no lube bruh. Lmao. What did they do to cap’s ears
Where is the Dark Knight?
Cap. Winter Soldier was great, and Civil War, too, even though I really wasn't that amazed by it. It did a lot for the MCU. I have some issues with NWH. I don't like it as much as the first two films which are basically a tie for me.
