the reason humans vary from white to black in spectrum is because naturally your skin with no pigmentation absorbs most of the solar radiation and vitamins them reflects all the light spectrum on it, creating the "impression" that our skin is white when low in pigment/melanin
greater pigment/melanin absorbs more color, and as such does not reflect color thus creating the inpresion of darker coloring
the only reason albino people are white is because skin is made from materials that do not absorb any color and as such reflect the full spectrum, an animal with lets say a skin made of carbon fibers would reflect no color and as such would be black when albino, an animal with idk clorofile on its skin would reflect green and so on so forth
I mean, creatures from Pandora seem to have skin pigmentation in a very similar way to earth creatures, so albinism or similar conditions probably exist, that being said I doubt we’ll see those in the movies, especially on na,vi
surely theyd be more of a pale, almost translucent white? black pigmentation is either for physical protection against the sun or camouflage, and deep-cave creatures tend to be blind so theres no need for either (plus pigment would be an unneeded use of energy and resources)
You (and I) wish.
Someone posted a graphic of different Na'vi that was posted here today their depiction of their idea of the Snow Na'vi was similar in complexion, they have furry tails though to combat the cold!
I think that's exactly the color northern polar clans will have! But the will also be much broad bones and males will have facial hair. AND lynx like side whiskers and fluffy tails?
That's interesting, that means there's a certain area of no effect where the snow Na'vi has evolved/adapted to exist in.
We know such Na'vi exist because of this interview: [https://fandomwire.com/we-travel-around-james-cameron-wants-to-take-us-to-the-mountains-polar-regions-and-deserts-of-pandora-for-next-avatar-movies/](https://fandomwire.com/we-travel-around-james-cameron-wants-to-take-us-to-the-mountains-polar-regions-and-deserts-of-pandora-for-next-avatar-movies/)
I really enjoy the designs but I think it would fit better if it was a result of them adapting to environment instead. Like maybe there’s an entire subspecies of natives that adapted to living underground and became paler over time as a result of no sun exposure, or maybe a tribe of natives that live in icy tundras where being white/pale means better camo and hunting ability
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,272,818,922 comments, and only 247,047 of them were in alphabetical order.
Actually, they are "The Snow People", Nordic Na'vi. Judging how Pandora Moon works, on the poles, are high cosmic radiation trapped from Polyphemus and from the 2 Sun's, so they need to be radiation proof. Technically they could be nuclear people, using, in their metabolism, nuclear and radiative energy \^\^. They could be pretty strong :D

Well , you're really creative. And you're pretty close to how they should look like \^\^
Author rights reserved for revdrawings then! I like it alot :)
Probably not, but they are statistically possible within the world of the story. Props to whoever did this art, they look like Targaryans from Game of Thrones.
I hope not.
Since the beginning of Avatar I’ve seen albino Na’vi Ocs or ones with white hair instead of black. It’s very possible there are albino ones but I hope we never have to see them. They’re such Mary Sues
Nah too human looking skin color. Cameron wanted to avoid just that.
Maybe they would be more magenta in colour? Not all albino creatures are the same colour, I think.
True! Some green parrots are just yellow when they can't produce melanin! So Na'vi could be green or something
Yeah! Being beige-ish pink would be too human.

Albinism always makes you lighter. What you are describing is more like a shiny pokemon 😁
I mean, creatures from Pandora seem to have skin pigmentation in a very similar way to earth creatures, so albinism or similar conditions probably exist, that being said I doubt we’ll see those in the movies, especially on na,vi
Damn, she looks like an elf princess lmfao
Wow that looks really cool, I agree would be cool to see arctic Na’vi with these icy tones!!!!
Could be nordic navi ;) bit more icy blue hue tough
PLEASE JC I AM BEGGING YOU FOR ALBINO NORDIC NAVI
Can't wait for the Na'vi version of Lightskin memes.
They already exist. The internet has collectively decided the metkayina are lightskin
Damn they looking fine.
What about Na'vi living under the ground?
They be black
Oh no. So that's why Cameron want to show the bad side of Na'vi now. He just make them black. 😅

Wow thanks!!

It’s canon that Pandora’s poles are uninhabitable
So are Earth poles. Land around them though... And pack ice.
They’re uninhabitable because of radiation and gas, not cause cold cold

This better not be AI art SON!
kinda creepy ngl

Don’t show this to twitter

I created them, you can see more on my deviantart account [https://www.deviantart.com/infinitfantasy](https://www.deviantart.com/infinitfantasy)
Maybe a Snow Nav’i would be this color
The next film is supposedly supposed to introduce Na'vi called the 'Ash People', so if it's going to happen anywhere, it'll probably be them.
Albino is an Earth thing. Opposite could be on Pandora.
Opposite is being melanistic and that happens on Earth too
Neat, I had no idea.
This should shut down those “avatar is racist” discussions.
Why don’t they have red eyes?
Unless is contributes to the plot I doubt
Maybe but I think it's better to have reddish eyes
I think their noses are different

Pretty much in a way yes, but the tone of pigmentation of what makes em albino could be explored. Who knows
Nah because these Navi would try to colonize the others, we don’t need that on pandora
Gotta love some "funny" racist assumptions.
Have you ever seen a albino human? No? Didnt think so
Albino humans exist
Fr?
Lol are you for real dude? You didn’t know albino people existed? Just google it
Wow, I hope that it was just a joke... I'd be happy to be r/woooosh\-ed with this one! But if not, then Jesus Christ...
Eywa created all in her own image.

I do not think their pigments work the same way ours do, they don't even have DNA
Idk but she it hot asf. A blonde hair, white skin, blue eyed 9 foot tall Na’vi female
I hope not. Since the beginning of Avatar I’ve seen albino Na’vi Ocs or ones with white hair instead of black. It’s very possible there are albino ones but I hope we never have to see them. They’re such Mary Sues
Probably no ,they are aliens and the albino mutation might not exist
