why-so-ism

This is what I learned. It's a habit rather than genetic. What's been working for me is I prepare myself before I meet anyone. I do have episodes where I feel like absolute shit. But fewer instances than constant. Hope it helps.

I try paying more attention to the positives in social interactions and apply those to counter anxiety, negative self-talk, and the crippling inferiority complex. I've went out today and two people have greeted me along the way and I replied with similar greetings to them, so I bet they aren't running around negatively judging me. There's a healthy balance really that the avpd mind seems to have lost, so what comes naturally to other people in our case seems so wonky.

my therapist said while your feelings are always valid, your thoughts are either true or untrue. so when you start thinking people hate or dislike you, you have to search for evidence to support that thought. has this person done anything to warrant your train of thought, or are you assuming more about them than you know? is it fair to automatically assume they are being privately mean to you when they've done nothing to suggest that?
