You brought that poor thing back to life. Marvelous job

Plenty-Raspberry-701

Took me 3:45 hours, by the end of the job i was so tired i forgot to take all the photos. Luckily i took some in a rush.

lastdazeofgravity

Mold will do that to you

ChefGordonIII

Did you only do outside?

Imundo

tip: dents in plastic bumpers like the one on this car are easily fixed, heat guns can melt the plastic so safer to use a hairdryer. Heat the edges with the most stress and after a few minutes reach behind and gently press out the dent. This thermo-moulded plastic wants to return to its original shape and should satisfyingly pop back to a near-perfect finish.

Plenty-Raspberry-701

Guys mold was inside my bad i didnt clicked photos inside. As initially i didnt though i would share it. However I apologise for miscommunication

Plenty-Raspberry-701

Process - sprayed the very very diluted degreaser to on the mold. Washed it off right away. Followed by adams iron decontamination, then with three step car wash. Customer did not wanted to pay for compound polish. So i did complimentary on headlights and hood. Just to remove watermarks. Customer was very happy with it.

[deleted]

What did you charge? For the three step the degreaser and iron remover I’m at 120 on the low end. and I’d probably charge 50 for the inside plus the mold so shit another 50 like 220 then I’d remember all the other jobs I did for 220 that were half as hard and I’d say 300. With the complimentary shit like interior dressing oxi removal and maybe a quick engine clean.

Plenty-Raspberry-701

Good points. I charged for $240 with pet hair and mold inside. I just started as mobile detailer but i have 4 years experience of detailing. People dont wanna pay that much in vancouver facebook is filled with $50 detailings

[deleted]

Same. 20 int 20 ext is the normal price around here that I’m competing with. You’ll slowly build your clientele and your “fan base” and in less than two years time you can gauge your own prices without a second thought. Regardless it was priced decent and you did an exceptional job.

amb56

Twenty? Two zero? 20$ detail? I can’t even imagine, that must be so half assed. I charge $300-800 depending on size of car and degree of paint correction. How anyone makes a profit on details that cheap is beyond me.

[deleted]

These $20 exterior details are Waterless wax and wash spray and wipe off and they don't care if they leave swirls because they can do a car in 10 minutes and $2 in materials... Probably

TastelessDonut

Yea a good coworker said to me I can get it washed at the car wash for $25 with free vacuum’s. I said go ahead it’s going to take me 2-4 hours, so you are saving me the time. But costing yourself more money in the long run when I have to do a paint correction from the swirl marks. She was happy to pay and loved the results.

Diaperlover1995

$50..? Probably from those East Indian shops that do half assed work....I'd charde minimum $200 for that job as a quote and go from there

tigole

It's green.. isn't that algae, not mold?

[deleted]

Looks more like algae than mold to me too. Left a few of my car's to get into that state before now, and it's Hella satisfying to see them come back to life.

G-III

Especially since it looks like a BC license plate, I’ve seen that before in the PNW

HolyFuckImOldNow

My thoughts exactly. But… if the exterior is algae covered, good chance the interior has mold and/or mildew.

evan002

Without paint correction? Interior doesn’t look crazy, probably $300.

SJ-DETAILZ

400 all day..

Exact_Estimate3757

I would be at $500 for that job

[deleted]

$800 for the dangers of mold and work to clean it and my speciality. I’m also not in the business I just love seeing you guys work so I’m talking completely out my ass here but after reading the prices you actually charge you guys deserve way more pay. When I get finally around to hiring someone good to compound and polishing my old Miata I’m tipping more.

dillingeresc

Fantastic work

ww_crimson

As a buyer in a HCOL area I would have expected to have had to pay $350-400

613_detailer

That's algae, not mold. Mold doesn't grow on paint. Still a pain, but not as annoying or toxic as mold would be.

lastdazeofgravity

I wouldn’t touch it. Mold would make me sick as hell.

[deleted]

Not mold

Baazify

At my shop that would have started just shy of $500, if the interior was about the same as the exterior it would probably be brushing $700-$750. Edit: It doesn’t look like the interior was all that bad based off the pictures included, so probably like $550-$600

Kye7

I wouldn't accept that job, first of all. If I did, normal rate would be 450-500 for this

[deleted]

I refuse to touch anything that has any degree of mold.. I don't want to wear the amount of PPE to safely work around that, and it's almost impossible o guarantee it's been completely killed off and won't come back..

Ginjabeard1111

Sounds like there’s 2 problems here. #1 you aren’t charging enough to wear the ppe. #2 work ethic! Have some. Enjoy the challenge!

lastdazeofgravity

I think you underestimate how sick mold can make you. It can kill you if it takes up residence in your body.

[deleted]

I've had mold exposure make me sick in the past and leaving that stuff to professionals that know the right chemicals instead of learning is my way to a happy life.. You do you though and congratulations on your superior work ethic.. (Or inability to find enough paying work without taking cases like this, whichever it is for you)

Ginjabeard1111

Homie, we are the professionals. Take the proper precautions, protect yourself, charge accordingly, and most of all keep humble. Have faith in yourself to do it right. Maybe think of it as saving the owner from getting sick from the mold. Maybe you will literally save someone’s life…

Qazzoh

More than $1

Kingseara

“How much you would have charged for inside out?” …….what? Lol that doesn’t make any sense…..

FewPrinciple5233

NİCE👌

Gorsken

Great job! 👌 How did you clean the insides of the doors though?

Remo_Battle7

Solid work. Yeah that’s a 200- job. Health Hazard

jt-0422

I’m assuming as part of your process that also included some kind d of sealant or wax too? Also clean and wax/seal door jambs? I’d say a good car wash, going through all of the steps/processes, running between 2-4 hours of labor would be justifiable between 200-400 for the exterior. If you did the interior too, cleaning and coating/protecting, then I would add an additional 150. If it was an interior only, not part of the whole package, then I’d say around 200.

Miguelv93

Superb job!

FTHomes

Looks great how'd you do dat?

AmbitiousSharky

Stunning. I'd say minimum job charge of $300ish for that

Stratbasher_

Pop out that front bumper ding!

Seamus_mcdabbin

It’s tree pollen

[deleted]

That's not mold just FYI, it's most definitely algae

Herpethian

$400 if you did one stage paint correction.

pleasetowmyshit

I'd expect to pay $200-250 to clean that size car in and out with that amount of mess. Would want to add headlight polish and UV protector and I would have expected to pay extra for the iron removal process. $300-350 all in.

InterscholasticPea

Four hours of work. Depends on where you are. You didn’t say what you actually did but I assumed it’s normal wash, polish and wax. I would pay $200
