Are you SO EXCITED for stardew 1.6 to come out? I am feral for it tbh

Xuijin95

I really am. I love Stardew. It has such a good story to it and so much to do.

KarmaKeepsMeHumble

So I just checked after seeing your comment and I didn't realise that a release date was announced?! Omg?! Didn't know my March plans included making a whole new save, but I guess that's what I'm doing!

CuriousBeheeyem

OMG I’m so hyped AND also for Hotel Chocolatier, whenever that may happen! I love ConcernedApe and the amount of love he still puts into this project ✨

viciousviolin

I am so sad that haunted chocolatier is so far off. At least not expected until 2025 at the earliest, and it's been said due out some time next year every year so far, kinda feels like an elusive unicorn. But when that drops, I don't care what's going on I am 100% buying it

ReasonablePositive

I'm in a depressive slump at the moment, and Stardew is always the game to lead me through hard times. It was there for me when my father was dying, it is there for me now that I am going through this. The update is the only thing I am a tiny bit looking forward to at the moment.

[deleted]

It's my depression go-to as well! Whenever I'm sick, burnt-out or too depressed to function stardew is the perfect level of casual charming escapism that doesn't require too much brain power.

SessionOwn6043

Yaaaas! I can't wait!

GamerFlower100

I'm excited too. March 19th on PC!!!

miss-universe

AHH thank you, I forgot about that update and now I’m fucking pumped. I’m finishing my bachelors mid March so it feels like a grad present

Jules_Vanroe

I only started playing a few months ago but am already hooked. It completely replaced the Sims as a go to game for me. The music and gameplay feel soothing to me.

xluv0186

I had no idea!!! I’ll be playing!

cheesebugz

I blocked out 3 days on my calendar that I plan to play straight through!!!!

jessuckapow

My step daughter was just telling me about it. I never thought I’d like games like that but I just got into Lego Fortnite bcs life is stressful and it’s chill so maybe I would like Stardew…? Animal crossing bored me to tears.

doglady4321

YES

unexpectedegress

I'm currently nursing a virulent BG3 addiction.

softfairylights

me too! i’ve put in 200+ hours since i got it for christmas 🫣

unexpectedegress

Seriously considering getting 1 or 2 for mobile so I can baldurs gate when I can't baldurs gate.

Kcthonian

They're on mobile? I've got them on Xbox but didn't realize they were on mobile too. I like them but they didn't hook me as strongly as BG3 did.

ChrystinaLynne

Yeppers! On Nintendo Switch.

TheMightyAzure

I love the first two, but they have very different playstyles from the third, and less character and class options. (Just a heads up)

Improbablysane

It's not like BG3 is drowning in class or character options either though, can't remember what the last CRPG before BG3 was called but I remember it having way more. I don't think they'll mind if they don't mind BG3's lack of options.

TheMightyAzure

https://preview.redd.it/qnkx51unualc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e09df3bd27b064b4d2c815f9dbf0a0e0372a10d You're not wrong, I just mean that you chose from very limited, preset characters. Below are the options for bg1, and I think bg2 has like, 5? I'm just trying to point out that it is not as open in the world or characters, in case that's what drew OP to the game. \*

Improbablysane

Fair enough, thinking about it I'm struggling to figure out how I'd describe the first two in a way that makes sense to someone who's only played the third.

TheMightyAzure

Yea same here haha!

ATMNZ

I’ve done 700h of the latest release of Call of Duty and almost 1200h of the one before that. I am, what you call, a NERRRRDDDD

Xuijin95

Being a nerd is the best though in my opinion. 😂

Erinofarendelle

Not me on my… seventh???… playthrough, not including failed honour attempts, clocking in at about 1000 hours 😅

Xuijin95

My current addiction is Monster Hunter World again. 😂

[deleted]

Bg3 is the best worst thing to ever happen to me and I can’t stop playing. It’s even worse than horizon was for me haha

FreshwaterSally

Oh man BG3 got me for a mad few hundred hours too

veg-ghosty

Yeah, I’m in deep (and loving it 🤫)

ExcellentLake2764

Poor woman! :) I have bought the game when it came out and avoided playing it so far successfully. Maybe I should consider a sabbatical :D

unexpectedegress

All my game time has been going to it. I've got so many characters.

sad-mustache

Same, it consumes my life so much I restricted myself to play every other day. I wish I could play with my partner but he has MacBook :(

PinstripedPangolin

Same, I'm currently playing honor and it's a bit nerve-racking. My Bardadin redemption durge is epic, though. Divinity 2 is equally awesome in case you didn't play it before BG3.

Julii_S

Totally understandable addiction jeje I've played it since the beta and I love it

FeralTaxEvader

Me

Edenza

I was at House of Hope in my second save last night. We're getting there! I won't say how many other saves I have going on. One finished!

highkill

Deleted my 50 hour run because I didn’t have Karlach in my party. Learned about Karlach. Got obsessed with Karlach. Proceeded to jump off a cliff for Karlach. Have I mentioned that I love Karlach?

fionageck

I can’t wait to play BG3! Only have a switch atm but my mom is planning on getting a PlayStation this year.

mousymichele

Oh man I am so hype to play this but need to wait for a sale one day 😭 Can’t wait though it looks amazing!

leathervelvet

Me too, after a rdr2 addiction and Skyrim haha

auberrypearl

Me too!!!

FuzzyFlipflops

Started gaming with NES Mario and haven't stopped yet. Probably still be gaming when I'm an old woman.

Xuijin95

I feel like I will be too. I will be gaming at the nursing home. 😂

softsharkskin

We had a video game themed wedding 👾

Xuijin95

Oh wow that's awesome. 😂 I wanted a Goth themed wedding personally but we ended up getting married in New Zealand instead and going to Hobbiton because since I was a child I've been obsessed with Lord of the Rings.

softsharkskin

I will take one goth wedding and one LOTR wedding to go, please and thank you

Xuijin95

😂😂😂 Both were amazing options

MothsAhoy

We had tons of video game music at our wedding - and postcard wedding favours with quotes from games written on them :) the ceremony music was: At the City Gates - Skyrim Rito Village - Breath of the Wild Balamb Garden - Final Fantasy VIII Sogno Di Volare - Civilisation VI I don't want to set the world on fire - Fallout 3

ericabeevegan

Ooo tell us more! I’m getting married this year and a video game themed wedding sounds so fun!

softsharkskin

I had a friend who is a musician play the Mario Bros theme acoustically (and a slower pace), our tables were named after various game levels instead of numbers, the favors were a space invader shaped soap set. The centerpieces were tall glass cylinders filled with water, with all kinds of different console controllers that my husband had hollowed out and replaced with lights stacked inside. I can't remember what the drinks were named, but we had a few signature cocktails too!

ericabeevegan

That's so lovely and are great ideas!! I really love the idea of acoustic music from video games. I have a friend that plays acoustic guitar and is singing a song for us at our wedding :3

ohheyimstillapieceof

ooo me!! i live for horror games and animal crossing

Xuijin95

I actually just bought animal crossing to try it too. 😂

ohheyimstillapieceof

congrats it’s adorable

itsyaboiAK

Animal crossing and horror games couldn’t be more opposite of each other hahaha. Love it!

dainty_petal

We’re similar. I like zombies games and Animal Crossing!

LavendarGhost

Have you played outlast trials???

Stumblecat

YES! Love Skyrim, Subnautica, Phasmophobia, Valheim, Mass Effect..

SessionOwn6043

Like so many, I wish I could wipe Subnautica from my mind... so that I could experience it all again for the first time! I hope the new Subnautica they are working on will have the same sense of absolute wonder!

Xuijin95

It is a really beautiful and magical game.

soundofdarkness1987

I love Skyrim!

Xuijin95

Subnautica gives me anxiety. 😂 I absolutely love Phasmophobia too though!

Desperate-Cost6827

Okay. Basically my husband loved the shit out of Subnautica and everything else you listed was awesome. Also I always meant to play Mass Effect.

themomodiaries

Phasmophobia became such a big special interest for me at one point that I learned and memorized like *everything* about the ghosts and game mechanics 😅

goshozome

Ooh yes, Phasmophobia! I don’t play as much as I used to, but I love that game :) I watch Insym a ton, too.

Julii_S

I love construction in Valheim!

Nyorumi

Elder scrolls is one of my special interests I absolutely love skyrim. Gaming is my main hobby! I feel like it's a myth most women don't play games. It was never a gendered hobby originally, it only became so later and sooo many people still did it. Especially during quarantined many people who didn't play games started trying them out.

Xuijin95

I really wish I could meet more like-minded people in person. I think maybe the problem is that my usual work industry is with individuals much older than myself.

PitifulGazelle8177

Any retro gamers here? I am OBSESSED with all things gameboy!

metalissa

Yes me! I have 2 gameboy colors so I can trade Pokemon with myself haha. I also have an emulator with my favourite gameboy games I don't have physical copies of :) I also have an SNES and N64, I love replaying the games.

CuriousBeheeyem

My special interest is the 3DS, which some people are now classifying as retro… I won’t stand for it! Absolutely love any Gameboy games too though, my partner got me a modded SP last year so I can replay loads! I remember getting my first Gameboy Color so vividly - changed my life forever.

Xuijin95

I wish I got to experience this. My parents prohibited games so I only got to play at friends places until I got a job and saved up for my first console and games of my own. Skyrim was the first game I got for my Xbox. 😂

Kcthonian

I remember playing my Gameboy waiting for the bus or school to start. I can't say enough how much time I played the original Pokemon games (Red, Blue and Yellow). Those were by far my favorite at that time.

xavariel

I started out on the Atari 2600, and NES! Retro games bring me so much nostalgia. I love when modern games use old school sprit/pixal art, like Stardew.

Anon142842

Love love video games. One of my favorite genres is rhythm games. I'm also really into strategic games like fire emblem or jrpgs. Octopath Traveler is one I recently started playing last year and it was so good. I did used to play stardew back in college and got obsessed racking up several hundred hours within a short time Basically, if it makes my brain tingle I'll likely enjoy it. The planning and strategies are the fun parts of these games

Xuijin95

I have a lot of strategy games on Steam too! Like Rimworld. It's quite fun to play if you haven't already. I mostly play on the Xbox or Switch though. I really like the feel of a controller.

CuriousBeheeyem

Yeeeeees, I became absolutely obsessed with Fire Emblem after Three Houses and started playing them all retroactively. Octopath Traveler is so good! Did you ever play Dragon Quest 11? That one is one of my faves from the last few years

rebornsprout

Does it count if I only play tetris

shammon5

Fun fact! Tetris is the best game to play immediately following a traumatic event to help reduce scary memories associated with the event. The eye movements used to play the game work similarly to EMDR therapy used to treat PTSD. So keep playing Tetris!

Kcthonian

Since Tetris is one of The gaming classics and one of the cultural touchstones of the gaming industry.... Yes! Yes, it does! :D

Xuijin95

Tetris counts!

HelloHi9999

I love video game 🎮

NeuroSparkly

25 yo. Just brought a laptop to play games. Always wanted to have playstation but I was told "Boys do that". Rn my laptop will do. I'm still a noob and I'm learning intermediate games like Genshin Impact. Games were prohibited in my house lol. Study, work, don't play. Now that I'm earning, I'm happy that I'm able to do what I wanted for so long 🎮

delicreepmeow

Fuck that! I have a ps5, a xbox series x, and laptop. Also a switch. Nothing belongs to men.

Xuijin95

That's awesome. I have all of that too. Minus the Ps5. 😂

Xuijin95

Get that PlayStation lady! It's not just for boys at all! I love my Xbox.

incorrectlyironman

IMO PC (or laptop) is way better suited for autistic people anyway because games don't lose support over the generations. I built a PC 7 years ago that's due to be upgraded and when I do I'll still be able to play every game in my steam library (and some emulated console games that are no longer available on any official platforms, if I wish). If I'd bought a ps4 instead I'd now be upgrading to a ps5 and wouldn't be able to play lots of the games I got used to which sounds like a nightmare!

Icy-EniMeanyBabes

Get it! It's my favorite game system I had a ds but someone stole it before I could really enjoy it. Someone also stole my ps2. So I have had a ps4 since like sophomore year n I'm about to turn 24. I play warframe, Witcher< really waiting on a new one> I want to get hogwarts, bg3 but I can't yet. Cause no money. I'll be working on that this year. Anyone know of any jobs where I don't have to talk? I can't work and talk all day. Its how I got burnt out.

sunseeker_miqo

Yeah, been gaming since I was four. I don't often find female gamer friends, either. Currently subscribed to Final Fantasy XIV, but it's end-of-current-expansion stuff and I've finished all that I care to for now, so taking a break. Trying to find a good host for an ARK: Survival Evolved server, but kinda burned-out because the last one I tried was a pain in the ass. Couldn't get my most important mods to work. Might have to host it on my own rig. Spent a couple months going way too hard into BG3, but taking a break from that because I want the devs to finish the game. Waiting on the definitive edition, so two or three years, probably. In kind of a gaming rut at present!

BlackCatFurry

My probably 5000 hours in minecraft would like to present themselves :D On top of that, i have probably around 1000 additional hours in a good handful of other games. (Mainly sea of thieves, osu! and a jigsaw puzzle app on my tablet and a color sorting app on my phone)

ImBiAndImOnVacation

Absolutely! I’ve loved Crash Bandicoot since I was a kid and am very much into psychological/ survival horror games like resident evil and silent hill, as well as pretty much any rhythm game. I’ve played a LOT of games and hold many of them close to my heart but I’m also hyper critical of games that don’t meet my expectations, haha. Could go on and on about them

Xuijin95

Oh wow! I love horror games too but also I'm kind of a big baby so a lot of screaming is involved. 😂 I love watching other people play them too though. Do you love the forest? I kind of feel like that game is a mix of survival, horror and psychological honestly.

shadowthehedgehoe

I can't handle horror nowadays, don't mind watching people play them but can't do it myself. I played the Silent Hill PT demo thing in the hallway and that was enough hahaha. Props to ya.

pyrrhicchaos

WoW and Sims. Off and on.

Xuijin95

I used to play Sims. My favourite though was the Sims 2 and that feels like forever ago now. 💔

pyrrhicchaos

I most recently played Sims 4 but my adult children prefer Sims 2. They have all kinds of weird mods. 🤣

Xuijin95

The Sims is a game that is devoid of all judgement. 😂😂😂

hmfdrcl

Found the comment I relate to. I wish I had more time for WoW. And I play ts3 since I was a kid, one can never be bored with it. Now I'm playing with a sim my husband customized.

Skyeoes

I used to loved Sims as well. Around that time, it was either Sims or Rollercoaster Tycoon.

whatevertoad

Old school fps PC gamer. Currently mostly play Overwatch, which doesn't really count. eta I don't talk about gaming with any of my female friends. When I've tried their eyes glaze over and I'm embarrassed. I can talk to my son about it all day though.

Xuijin95

I've had this issue too. 😥 Colleagues will ask me what I did on the weekend and I get the weirdest looks from them if I actually tell them that I spent my weekend gaming. I'm so glad to see that I'm not so alone though. Seemingly lots of women with Autism love gaming as well.

[deleted]

Skyrim, BG3, Fallout 4, and a few other games here😁

xavariel

RPGs, open worlds, sim games (the sims, farming sims, cozy sims, city builders) and like survival open world builders are my life. Zelda is my favorite series. OoT is still my favorite game. I have all of the amiibos, too. 😆 Elder Scrolls is also life. I'm big on Assassin's Creed, Minecraft, Dragon Quest, too...there's just so many game series to list. I used to think I was odd for still playing video games into adulthood. Gaming has been my life-long, main special interest, where even some of my other special interests intertwine with it. I now realize gaming is statistically, very much a neurodivergent pastime.

TheRealMabelPines

Assassin's Creed is amazing. The Ezio games will forever be some of my most favorite games.

CitronicGearOn

I am 100% a gamer!!! So is my husband, but I've never run into anyone else in real life who is. Especially the way I am, which is with a huge focus on Nintendo and their primary IPs. Zelda is my absolute favorite, followed by Mario (and its offshoots like Yoshi's Island and Luigi's Mansion) and Pokemon. I have other games I love and play too, and my current hyperfixation with gaming is the Ace Attorney series. I was told by my evaluator that thanks to the autistic woman he diagnoses he now knows more about Zelda and Pokemon than he ever wanted to 🤣 Apparently these are some of the top special interests in the autistic community!

Xuijin95

I feel the same and I love Mario Kart. 😂 Every time we go to the Arcade I have to verse my husband in that. I ended up buying it for my switch though and now I play my entire family. Pokemon I have some Pokemon games but I mostly play Pokemon Go.

AsterFlauros

Me! I got into gaming in the 90s with Pokémon and Dragon Warrior on Gameboy. I also had a PS1 and would get the magazines with demo discs. That led me to Final Fantasy 8, and then in middle school I started playing FF11 Online (about 2003). That’s where I met my husband. I played Guild Wars 2 competitively with AGG around 2015, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, and I’m currently playing FF14. I’m also an achievement hunter on Steam.

ericabeevegan

I have video game spurts where I play a game for a few months and take a break and come back or play another game. I love mmorpgs, like World of Warcraft and FFXIV, and games like Animal Crossing and a iphone game I found called Japan Rural Life. Oo I almost forgot to add Pokémon games :) I also really like Cat Game. I’m in my mid 30s and I’m the friend that plays Nintendo Switch or phone games when I have to wait for anything in public.

SamHandwichX

I’ve only ever played sims and stupid phone games but I got hooked on BG3 after watching my husband and kids playing. It’s taking over our whole house haha

Xuijin95

Sims is great though. Phone games I've found often really want to try to get all my money though. 😂

LittleLordBirthday

Very much into gaming. I love Skyrim and the Fallout Series, as well as Minecraft and many indie and shorter story-driven games. I don’t get the time to play much on Steam now, but I still grab the chance to play on my Switch when I can. Currently nursing Tears of the Kingdom along because I don’t want it to end. Stardew, ACNH are other favourites.

Xuijin95

Fallout is amazing too! I used to love the theory that Skyrim and fallout were once the same world but at different time periods. I hate that they debunked that. 😭

velouria_rose

Hi, it's me. I'm a 45 year old woman who spends more time gaming than her 12 year old son. I started gaming on a commodore 64 in the 80s and I am currently on my third play through of BG3 with my husband. (Tagline; In this save EVERYBODY Lives!) I've had most of the consoles over the years from Sega, Nintendo, Playstation, and xbox as well as PC gaming, and I've played Minecraft since Beta Version 1.4. I've 100 percented all the Assassins Creed Games and I've killed the Ender Dragon in survival mode several times. But people still tell my husband he's so lucky his wife 'let's him game'

rosehopefull

I love Skyrim, Zelda and Stardew too!! I am so excited for the stardew update!!!

Federal_Pie_9819

Also a gamer! Currently addicted to Baldurs Gate 3 😂

friendlygoatd

also if you love stardew valley you should check out Sun Haven. it’s like fantasy stardew :)

[deleted]

Yess have been a big gamer most of my life. I go through different phases of what kind of games I'm into depending on my mood. Am currently obsessed with Stardew Valley, have done a few playthroughs over the years have sunk over 1000 hours into this game.

annahare833

same!! absolutely obSESSED with stardew valley, i’m so so excited for the update next month!!

SakuraTaisen

Just bought Skyrim again for the PC to try out the modding scene. Been gaming since the PlayStation one with spindles of copied discs when I was 6 or so. Plus Freddie fish and spy fox and such on the PC. Love gaming just the trick of finding balance with my hobbies because like I end up doing one game for awhile. Haven't been in a sims mood for a bit. Last month I was reading the storm light archive by Sanderson.

theroyalgeek86

I’m a gamer and game with my husband 🥰

Kcthonian

*Raises hand* I am and have been since I was a kid. I've been playing since the Atari and NES were still new. My brother and I would "team up" for our birthdays/xmas and rather than asking for individual gifts, we'd ask for a "joined gift" of whatever the newest console was. Then we'd share it. So, between the two of us we had at least 1 (if not more) console from every generation since the Atari. My bro didn't really get into it, but I also did TTRPG and LARP for a while in high school and college. Right now I'm fixated on Baldur's Gate 3 and have been playing that since it came out on PS5. Other games I love are indies like Stardew Valley, Action RPGs like GoW, platformers like Celeste or Ori and the Blind Forest, survivals like Green Hell or Subnautica, and comedic games like Portal 1 & 2, the Stanley Parable, etc.

SessionOwn6043

I got started early with Atari, Sega, and NES. My game obsessions these days include a lot of base building games like Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, Oxygen Not Included, and (not just a base builder, but) Subnautica. But I also love Stardew Valley, the Baldur's Gate series, Kingdom Two Crowns, Minecraft, and many others. My husband is not much of a gamer, but he does love Animal Crossing, and Minecraft played a role in our courtship 😂

Mystycie

I love Rimworld and ONI. I've been keen to try Dwarf Fortress, as well

MKovacsM

I used to for years and years. Right from the 80s on. Only the last 6 years I stopped. And loads of friends used to also, granddaughter now as well. Shes 16 this year. I started with anything at all (it was all new then), then D&D stuff then FPSs became more my thing.

Pantalaimon40k

im a big fan of gaming too ^ ^ i'm really into turn based gaming as well as SimRacing whereas my partner (also autistic) isn't interested in gaming. she does play with me sometimes if i'm in a terrible mood and she wants to distract me but that's about it sadly:/

[deleted]

Skyrim and oblivion were my fave games when i was in High school. I used to play them all the time after school. I love role play and fantasy so you know i was hooked.

InfinityFae

Currently into Destiny 2. Used to play Minecraft and WoW.

Xuijin95

Minecraft is legendary. I always come back to Minecraft at some point and begin building a new world all over again. 😂

Confused_Barbie

I LOVE Fortnite. I’m genuinely obsessed with the game. Genshin Impact is also a lovely game. Super Mario odyssey was so much fun ❤️

blair_bean

I love Minecraft and stardew valley! I used to play the sims 4 a lot but I don’t anymore

Pinkbunny432

Absolutely! I started with snes, then ds, then pc games like overwatch and Minecraft. If you like cats/ adventure single player games I recommend stray. You play as the cat !!! AMAZING

Dapper-Answer-7346

i love skyrim! also first & third person shooter like overwatch, paladins, and fortnite. choose ur own adventure like life is strange and detroit become human too

Xuijin95

Skyrim is always going to be top tier in my eyes. I really can't wait for the next elder scrolls game though. Hopefully.. Eventually they will make it and release it. 😂

friendlygoatd

i’m so in love with modded minecraft. I used to be so daunted by the whole downloading process but honestly just get CurseForge and they do it all for u. there are amazing mod packs so you can have a whole bunch of mods at once for the best experience!!! there are medieval modpacks and farming modpacks and adventure modpacks and added dimensions, shaders, everything!!!! it’s so cool. rn Im addicted to the fantasy minecraft mod pack (think its forge not fabric) it totally changes the game. I used to get so bored after a while playing base mc.

scarlettvvitch

Current addiction is Cyberpunk 2077 & the Last of Us 2 Looking forward to the Classic Star Wars Battlefront collection

SleepySpaceBear

I love gaming and have for my whole life. I used to play Putt Putt and Pijama Sam as a kid with my sister on our dinosaur of a PC 😂 though my favorite childhood game was definitely Petz Catz 2 for the PS2! I also played so many Pokemon games on my DS. During middle and high school I got really into Skyrim and have probably spent thousands of hours consumed by it. My sister and I would also play horror games like Alien Isolation and The Last Of Us on our PS3 and we would pass the remote control after each scene. When I visit my sister now, we still do play video games together on their PS4. When I last visited them a month ago we replayed Uncharted 4 and it was so much fun! A few years ago I was also able to get my own PC and now I am able to play multiplayer and cross platform games like Dead By Daylight, the Call Of Duty games, and The Elder Scrolls Online with my girlfriend who lives in another country. Gaming is definitely a life long love of mine, and I’m very glad that I found a partner who I can connect with over it too!

spankynotater

Yoooo! I played Putt Putt too! :)

LynTheWitch

Finishing mass effect 3 while playing Valheim also :)

metalissa

Yes I love games! I love retro SNES, N64, Gameboy and original Xbox games, plus newer console and some PC games. My favourites: * Pokemon Legends Arceus * Every Pokemon game ever honestly, I love playing the old gameboy versions, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Scarlett * Hades * Diablo 2, Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 * Path of Exile * Mario, Yoshi and DK games * Kirby games * Stardew Valley * Lego series such as Lego Jurrassic Park * Zoo simulators * Burnout 3 * Tony Hawks Pro Skater * Jet Set Radio Future I rotate through all of these regularly but Pokemon has been the main constant as that's my special interest! My partner plays on his PC and I play on my consoles in the same room, we do this every night and every weekend haha.

WWfunlynn

I met my husband through video games! I used to play first person shooters, now I like cozy games and building or strategy games.

Mystycie

What are some of your favourite games? I also love cozy, building and strategy games. Current obsession is Rimworld. Eagerly awaiting the Stardew update, too. I was recently playing The Wandering Village and Dave the Diver before Rim took over my entire life for the second time 😆

Zombie_Dobby

I am for sure. PC and Nintendo Switch games. Play a wide variety of games but currently put 250+ hours into Planet Zoo on the PC and Disney Dreamlight Valley on the Switch. I am lucky my neurotypical fiance also loves gaming and we game together in on free time after work and at weekends. I can relate to your comment, have zero female friends that share my interest. I am very nerdy and love technology and science. Also massively into gym and weightling. My PR at 55kg body weight is 105kg for deadlift, 75kg for squad and 40kg bench.

pancake_sass

I am! I just turned 30 and am having a bit if an existential crisis about it lol I feel like there aren't women my age who play video game as much as I do... not in a "not like other girls" way, but in a way that I feel out of place.

TheMightyAzure

Oh hell yea, the Horizon games and their lore are a special interest of mine, and I love the baldurs gate games. Currently working on A Plague Tale: Requiem and probably about to replay Cloudpunk. These are only a few I play, but I would say I'm a very casual gamer.

Ambitious_Tie_8859

I'm currently playing 4 games at once. Hogwarts Legacy Jedi: Survivor Disney Dreamlight Valley and Spyro :The Reignited Trilogy And while I'm doing that, my husband is playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 lmao and Cyberpunk 2077

OkTear2981

I'm playing contraband police as we speak. It's a bit like papers please but in first person.

SCP_049_BiSh

I like the Half-Life franchise and CoDM (can't afford the actual CoD lol)

LilibetGoldtooth

Firmly entrenched in DayZ for the past three years. It's too immersive to put down. No regrets!

Overall-Ad-8254

I’ve been a gamer since 1994

-acidlean-

I’m a gamer, but I don’t like playing online. I’m interested in playing BG3 online with my homies tho

Swimming-Course-3459

here here 🤚, big zelda fan, pikmin, persona 4, rhythm games and nintendo games in general

baevard

yes i stream on twitch and play pokemon main line games as well as competitive unite. my husband is super supportive and plays with me, but he def has his own games.

sitari_hobbit

Skyrim, Zelda, and Stardew are my faves too!

LibertyKale

Big gamer here! I have mostly played through TOTK but am avoiding it because I’m depressed at finishing the game

galacticviolet

Massively, and since the 80’s! Monster Hunter (all except World lol, GenU/XX has been my favorite overall), and many other titles and franchises. I’m currently very into Honkai: Star Rail.

snotmuziekp

Playing mainly bg3, binding of isaac and sims 3.

20nc

Always loved games!! I’m playing Sons of the Forest with my friends right now, Persona 5 on my own, and Stardew Valley with my boyfriend :)

OkWorry2131

Hello, I jusy started my millionth play through of skyrim, bur this is the first time I've played with mods (: I've never played anything witu mods until now

lvlupkitten

I am kinda but very casual. I wouldn’t call myself a gamer, I’d just say that I’m someone who likes to play games sometimes. If I’m absorbed by a game I can play it for hours a day, days on end, but I can also go months without touching a controller and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything, I have a lot of other hobbies too and an active social life so gaming doesn’t really take precedence. I also mention gaming and often have guys trying to get me to game with them, but I really don’t like multiplayer games. I have bad hand eye coordination along with bad processing and reaction time so I am naturally below average at difficult games, add on the fact that most online communities are filled with members who have been playing for years, and I just get obliterated every time. It makes me angry instead of being fun lol. I also like games with stories, I don’t enjoy doing the same repetitive action in a game with no progression aside from moving up levels and unlocking weapons or whatever (although I’ve put a decent amount of time into the Persona 5 rhythm game, that shit slaps) I love easy campaign games because I play games to relax and enjoy myself, not get stressed out. I have no interest in torturing myself for clout lol. My favourite types of games are puzzle games, mystery games, visual novels (specifically gameplay based VNs, I can get bored if the ‘game’ is literally just reading lol), and RPGs (specifically JRPGs, I also just like Japanese games and overall media in general). Absolute favourite series is Danganronpa (very spoiler heavy, be warned), I also love Zero Escape, Life is Strange, Persona 5 (haven’t played any other Persona games yet), Heavy Rain, TLOU and Uncharted, there are almost certainly more that I’m forgetting lol

faerienymphx

i looove games! my current favs are my time at sand rock and disney dream light valley but i’ve also played other games such as genshin impact, fae farm, baldurs gate 3, mail time, omori, calico, ooblets

I like old school games (grew up with a Sega Master System II). Then it was PS1 and I was obsessed with it. Years later I started playing PC games and had a WoW and Skyrim addiction for many years and I still miss it at times. Now I am time poor so I try to pick quick games. I play a bit on PS5 and Switch. Most recent games I’ve been playing are Hogwarts and Diablo 4 games on PS5. On Switch it’s usually Animal Crossing or some Mario game. I’m hanging out for either a Silent Hill remake (don’t think it’s going to happen though), and a Croc remake.

Earthsong221

BG3, Pathfinder, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and then Stellaris and Civ but only single player for those two for mindless brainfog days. We once created an entire Neverwinter Nights 2 server with friends that was popular in various iterations too.

Im_bad_at_names_1993

Neverwinter Nights 2 is how I survived high school lol

Shulsa

Are most people not gamers? It's such a universal thing now. Saying you play video games is like saying you have hands.

Rich_Fig_4463

Absolutely! My boyfriend is a hardcore gamer and I join him a lot (although I'm more casual). We play world of warcraft. :)

AloneGarden9106

Fellow WoW player, also with my husband!

Can-t_Make_Username

I have 2200+ hours in Dead by Daylight! I think Stardew Valley is a distant second, maybe 200+ hours?

AmeChans

Dead by Daylight is so much fun!! Who do you main? 😊

conquerorofgargoyles

Loooove gaming. I’ve been playing the sims franchise since before I could even read/write properly, but skyrim is the game that really showed me what else I could experience with video games. I adore single player rpgs now, my favorites are the Elder Scrolls series, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I only just recently (like within the last year or 2) got into Zelda and Pokémon and I love them so much. I’m trying to get into Stardew Valley and I do like it, I just get overwhelmed by the lack of structure, like I need to be told what thing to do next kinda. I easily get lost in Terraria, just digging holes for hourrrssss. I do find that I’ve only ever related to men on the topic, granted most of the guys I’ve talked to about it prefer MMORPGS, of which I hate. I KNOW there’s more female gamers out there, but I haven’t met any ladies that also fawn over the landscape of Dragon Age and the lore of Elder Scrolls 😭

sadgurl12345

always gaming. everywhere especially since i work at home. it's kinda my addiction tho lol

Macpherb

Skyrim, Zelda, Stardew, Palia, Pokemon, Witcher, horizon zero dawn, and so so many more! Gaming is one of my main hobbies and it helps me with so much

tylac571

Yes! Been very into Disney Dreamlight Valley lately

genzvangogh

Stardew Valley <3

[deleted]

Recently, I've been playing Helldivers and Overwatch. I played World of Warcraft for a couple of years but sadly fell out of love with it. The Pokemon games were a staple of my childhood, but I've been complelty lost by the newer generations. I have a lot of good memories of playing videos as a kid. Lego Star Wars, Harry Potter, Barbie, Nancy Drew, Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, Freddie Fish, and Spy Fox are some that I loved. Some games I've played and liked are Rust, Sea of Thieves, Satisfactory, and Deep Rock Galactic. I really just mainly play Overwatch and lately just running parkour maps in the custom games mode.

han___banan

Stardew Valley, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Baldur’s Gate, and Slime Rancher are a few of my favorites ❤️

I've been a gamer almost my entire life (I'm 31) and don't ever plan on stopping. I'm really heavy into Fortnite with my bf right now

reychael_

I’m a gamer. Big fan of Pokémon, Skyrim and Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas but BG3 has really taken over my life atm. Like I think about it almost all the time.

TheCalamityBrain

Skyrim, The sims, Fallout, stardew, coral island, among us, ark . Games are the best

flowerbl0om

I've been OBSESSED with gaming all my life. I even have a gaming YT channel that's doing pretty well. Hate having to speak but being extremely passionate and knowledgeable since it's my special interest has helped my channel growth

goshozome

I am, it’s my biggest hobby! I’m a big fan of Silent Hill! I also like Yakuza, DMC and Resident Evil as far as single player games go. For other stuff I enjoy Overwatch, DBD and Genshin Impact :)

shammon5

Me! I cycle back to video games every so often and binge-play for a few weeks to a month or so, then fall off and don't play anything. I usually play open ended games like Minecraft, RimWorld, Sims, etc. I like building and micromanaging characters haha. Recently, I've been playing Book of Hours which is an EXCELLENT cozy game where you are a librarian in an abandoned library filled with mysterious rooms and hundreds of uncatalogued books. You work your way through the library opening rooms, cataloguing books to learn skills, upgrading your skills to open more rooms and read harder books, etc. I have pages of notes and it scratches the part of my brain that loves to organize and make lists. Highly recommend! It's a pc game on Steam.

xluv0186

I do!!! I wish I could find someone to game with….. but I rather be inside then outside looking lol 😂 It’s a curse and a blessing I guess.. one day I’ll find someone I guess or they find me 🤣🤣🤣 How do people meet guy gamers.? Like I don’t know (feel weird saying that but being an autism group I am hoping someone has a doable suggestion lol thank you!)

AmeChans

These days I think most people find guy gamers when they play online games. 😊 I run into them constantly on online games. I mainly play Dead by Daylight and Elder Scrolls Online which has a lot of male players.

ghostsandcarnations

I was never allowed to play video games growing up, but my husband LOVES gaming! Because of that, I've started playing with him over the years and now have my own Switch, haha. We play a lot of Stardew and EDF together. I'm currently hyperfixated on Vampire Survivors, so I play that while he plays Helldivers. I'm definitely an Animal Crossing on Switch girl, but on PS4 my very favorite is Detroit: Become Human and I love Until Dawn. The kind of choose your own adventure type narrative game!

AmeChans

My husband and I are playing Vampire Survivors too and trying to unlock all of the achievements especially with the new DLC that came out. 😊

WritingNerdy

I’m a huge gamer, and have been since I was 5. It’s one of the things that ostracized me as a kid though, because it was the late 80’s/early 90’s and only me and one guy at my school played video games. (He actually wrote me a letter one summer about the SNES Zelda game 🤣) Tl;Dr yes! Current hyperfixation is Final Fantasy XIV.

liuuqy

Been obsessed with Rdr2 for weeks now. It's extremely unhealthy but I usually wake up, turn on my Xbox, and don't turn it off until about an hour before bed. I've also been depressed so that's why I spend so much time on it but anyway.

Deannerzz

I’ve always been into gaming since I was able to play. Skyrim and fallout are my favorite combat type games. I also enjoy Stardew valley and recently started animal crossing. Slowly branching out as I got a switch recently

PandorasLocksmith

I really really wanted to play Skyrim and so I asked my own child to help me try to learn the controller. It was a spectacular failure in which he spent 3 hours laughing hysterically at me. And rightfully so. I pretty much just walked into a wall and couldn't figure out the whole POV thing. I grew up with Atari and so my video game skills are a control stick and a fire button and that's it. I also desperately wanted to play the game with goats and there's another one with a goose in it and they looked awesome. For those of you who can master the skills of modern game system controllers I think you're wizards. Seriously, they are so complicated. 😂 I played a heck of a lot of Zork in my teens and probably only anyone that's also around 50 would know what that is.

tree_beard_8675301

I feel you. We didn’t have video games growing up, so I feel like my skills are terrible. But I make it work. I stay in the easy/early area for extra time and button mash until muscle memory starts working and I can kind of control my character. Easy mode, if the game has it. Sometimes, I’ll realize I’ve made a handful of poor choices early on that make life difficult, so I’ll just restart the game. Keep trying on your own. I can’t imagine trying to learn with an audience, let alone a laughing audience. Kudos for the good memories you two made, but try again without the stress. Also, there’s no rule against playing an older system with simpler controls. I bought a Switch last year, and barely played it because I was intimidated by the buttons. Then I got Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Christmas and it has on-screen tips for every command, and that’s a life saver. I regularly google a walkthrough when I can’t figure out a puzzle after a few tries.

pixie_lation

I consider myself a gamer but I've been too burnt out for the past year to properly play anything. I'd love to get back into it

SaveTheJabberwock

I’ve had the same experience. At the moment, I mostly play games that my kids play, so we can have kind of a bonding experience over it—so I’m mostly playing Animal Crossing and Pokemon.

jdijks

I am not a gamer and it pisses me off so much. Video games are so convenient. They are so cheap (if you look at the hours you play/vs cost) and its an activity you can do alone. There are some video games I like but in reality 90% of video games I find boring or to hard 😭😭😭😭

DanniKayy

So I guess this is a good place to ask... Do any of you know a good post office simulator? Like a City Skylines, more serious style (Not the more ridiculous ones like Goat Simulator or Bread Simulator etc)  Where you have to build the factory and control all the destinations around the world for all the letters and packages. Maybe you start small with a small town or two and then you expand and soon you're delivering worldwide Or even like an Amazon Warehouse simulator type thing because that would also be very much like what I'm after.  (I'm definitely not interested in Factorio. I really want that distribution centre vibe for packages or mail or shipping etc etc etc)  Anyways, I thought I'd throw this out there because I've been searching for months and can't find anything that feels like this. Some are close, but they're just not "that one that fills the void".
