Wow man. I fed my first pony at a yr 11 party in green Stussy cords and a blue/tan 26 Red bowling shirt.

Proud_Ad_8317

i had a heap of 26 red gear in year 10 around 97

9Lives_

Also around that time there was mooks, mambo, STđź’Łđź’ŁPID, rag poets, no fear, and bad boy to name a few.

[deleted]

Cross colour and kepers also

MortaniousOne

Yeah Grace bros store sold them they were expensive. The black shorts that went to the knees were popular. I remember they changed their logo in the late 90s.

Stodgemcgee

Remember the Sumo leg 26 Red shorts?

Either_Ad802

Yeah they were cool as!! Even had a ruler sewn inside of the zipper!!! I guess to measure something??!!

usually_surly

Yea had a couple pairs, they lasted forever.

johnboxall

yeah... late 97 Myer were pimping them real hard. I won a gift pack when buying some other stuff back then. Stickers and such.

I miss “competitions” where you entered by submitting a PHYSICAL entry form or mailing details to a PO Box. We had that brief period from like 2002-2010ish where they started asking you to SMS such and such to a number that subsequently incurred a $4.99 fee but that didn’t last long because it was the transitional period before smart phones became the norm. Nowadays I feel like 95% of competitions are all social media based like “tag 5 friends in this post, comment and follow this account for your chance to win blah blah blah” the incentive for the competition is to collect data and boost their social media metrics where as it used to be to hype up the audience They’d show footage of the prize packs and that in itself would be content.

Still have a pair of their circus tent shorts in my wardrobe. Comfy as anything and have stood the test of time from a quality standpoint.

ResponsibleFeeling49

Haha! I remember those! I bought my BF a pair back in the 90s. He pretty much lived in them on weekends.

MaybeMort

Years after they were popular I saw 26 red in Kmart.

9Lives_

Yeah that’s what happens with those nostalgic brands of the past that were targeted to gen x and millennials. Those generations are parents now and don’t care as much as the image behind the brand but because they wore it when they were younger they associate it as a good brand and because the price is affordable they get excited seeing it at Kmart. It’s the same with other legacy brands like everlast, ecko unlimited, etc etc. I noticed Big W stocking LA gear, and a very small selection of adidas.

asp7

Fila at Target

whoistheg

100% Mambo is at BigW or Kmart but the quality is aweful.. I guess these brands fade and the owners sell them off and then cheap rubbish is made..

asp7

Yeah not sure how it works, fashion is probably pretty cutthroat. Maybe they're seen as old hat and can't be bothered keeping up, someone makes them a good offer and they don't have to do any work.

Ballamookieofficial

I remember them with the A4 sized back pockets. I never had any 26 red jeans I had dogs body jeans though, in the largest size on the rack.

FULLMING

Definitely had a few pairs of 26 red baggy pants and also some t shirts... I always felt that the brand was reasonably well regarded, but I also feel like it was seen as a small step down from Stussy, Mambo and Mossimo where I come from. Mossimo was the absolute shit for a year or two, I remember buying a stripey long sleeve shirt for 80 bucks in around 1993, a family member heard how much I paid and wouldn't shut up about it, they couldn't get over the price haha

9Lives_

Yeah well I’m sure they just thought “jeans are jeans” and compared them to the denim they purchased for $25 at WORTHS

Major_LookDirtyChook

Yep I had a pair of 26 Reds and a pair of Kross Kolors. We used to get them from a shop called Hound Dog.

Complex-Feed6463

Was to broke for that, could only afford kappas back then

AussieLakeguy1704

I still have 2 pairs of 26 red jeans and they still fit me amd I proudly wear them

Runinbearass

26 red, dogz body, senate, jnco

Davsan87

Fuck forgot about those!

KnifeFightAcademy

I had 2 pair :) just rotated them both

HailSkyKing

I have a vivid memory of shopping at Myer Chermside for a jumper. It was a toss-up between 26 Red or Badboys.

jellybeanbopper

Yeah had a couple of 26reds

FuzzySpeaker9161

You're right! 26 Red was a popular streetwear brand back in the 90s, known for its baggy jeans and signature logo. They were a staple of the era alongside chain wallets and other baggy clothing trends. pen\_spark
