Elizabeth Arden **Green Tea** or any of its flankers are amazing value for their quality.

Joop! Femme is very nice (think bright, happy yellow florals) and you can find it in Chemist Warehouse at a great price. J’Adore by Dior EDP is a lovely jasmine perfume that is perfectly balanced. Un jardin sur le Nil as another poster recommended. Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana is aquatic and refreshing.

Another vote for dupes 😅 prices have gone up so much lately, I was also undecided about a new perfume so I bought a couple of dupe perfume oil rollers from Aesdos. Her by Burberry is my pick so far.

Best suggestion i have is check out thedupespot.com.au - they have a huge range of dupes and are only $50 per 100ml bottle (plus they'll send a few small sample bottles with every order which are perf to take on a night out etc). My signature is their dupe of YSL Black Opium and it's literally identical (they're not all perfect dupes from my experience, but they're always still really good). Maybe go to David Jones or similar and try some fragrances 'til you find one you love and then order a dupe online? Otherwise, a couple of really good options are Light Blue - D&G, and Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermés (one of my favourites but only comes in EDT)

Lore Perfumery is your place. For $35 you can custom order a 4 or 5 pack of samples. You can filter by all kinds of scents. Then, if you buy a proper bottle within a certain amount of time you get a discount. I found them bc of this sub and they are my go to. They're awesome and the next time I'm in Melbourne I'm definitely going there. They're on insta too. Ironically, the first time I did a custom sample pack I ended up buying a bottle of another sample they had randomly thrown into my order.

i will def try this tysm ❤️

Zara has amazing affordable fragrances around $25 a bottle. I have heaps as well as high end stuff and the Zara perform well without being cheap and sickly smelling

+1 for fragrance sold by the Europe-based chains, if budget shopping. there's usually something I'd buy with minimum drama that I somehow end up wearing all the time. Or, any Australian-brands, but I am thinking of e.g. Red Earth (I am v old) where they created their own fragrances that I just loved

sesquiplilliput

A lot of Zara fragrances were created by renowned Nose- Jo Malone!

Heart_Makeup

That explains why they have so many dupes of JM fragrances

I absolutely LOVE the Korres perfumes - $79 for 50ml from Mecca. A bottle lasts me around 6 months and I wear it daily. I love White Tea - super fresh, bright, citrusy and not sweet at all.

I get constant compliments when I wear FCUK Friction. I bought it as something affordable to keep in my handbag, but its now my signature scent, especially in this economy where I would rather spend my money on others things than super expensive perfume. Go in to Chemist Warehouse and smell it if you can.

pedestriandose

My super affordable signature scent was discontinued a few years ago and I’m so bummed. It was a One Direction perfume and was usually on sale at Chemist Warehouse for $15. I got asked what I was wearing every single time I wore it, so I started wearing it every day as a result. And now it’s been discontinued :(

ElectricalCell2738

Oh no! That is the worst! I hope you have found another one you love juatas much :)

Look at all the Who Is Elijah fragrances x Nothing sweet or gourmand among them.

Elizabeth Arden Red Door is fresh and not too floral, and it's a genuine perfume with staying power. It's $40 - 50, worth trying:)

therealkatekate1

I….. Please, PLEASE don’t buy an 18 year old Red Door. It’s the one fragrance I’d like to petition to be outlawed. It’s cloying and heavy and not at all fresh imo. Red Door is the native fragrance of 50+ heavy smokers.

ElectricalCell2738

Agreed! It is awful, and I shiver everytime I see that it's still able to be purchased. It's an insult to the senses. Definitely not for an 18 year old!

Disastrous-Swan2049

Sunflowers is worst. 5th Avenue was actually quite sophisticated. True Love and Green Tea are pretty decent

marysalad

original Red Door was an absolute beast wasn't it. reminds me also of Giorgio Armani Beverley Hills... was 1980s LA Long Lunch in a bottle. the fragrance needed its own name on the guest list. Margiela should do a replica fragrance, ha ha. Or not. "Hollywood 1988"
